The Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) is proud to invite you to a public talk by Haneen Zoabi MK, a Palestinian member of the Israeli Parliament on Friday 10th August in the Metropole Hotel, McCurtain Street, Cork City at 8pm.

This is a rare opportunity to find out directly from a public representative in the Israeli parliament how the self proclaimed “only democracy in the Middle East” truly functions. It promises to be an informative and eye-opening experience, and will afford those in attendance the opportunity to learn about issues relating to both the Israeli occupation of Palestine and the continuing erosion of democratic freedoms inside Israel, including the crackdown on the work of domestic and international NGOs. read full story / add a comment

Regarding Information about a coursing field that causes many hare casualties.

A Coursing supporter rang us today relaying a dispute in the ICC and Limerick Coursing Club as follows.

We received a call today from a disgruntled and annoyed Coursing supporter who was concerned about limerick Race track being used as a coursing venue. He must have ran out of options to resolve this scenario if he rang us.

We already knew that the Irish Coursing Club had decided last month to move the “Irish Cup” hare coursing event from Limerick Racecourse owing to its unsuitability as a coursing venue.
There is however a meeting this week of top coursing people on Thursday, July 26th,at the Horse and Jockey Pub? We are told ‘at which very powerful people within the greyhound industry will be pressing for a reversal of the ICC’s decision to move the “Irish Cup” event from Limerick Racecourse’.

A new coalition of thw willing is being prepared by the US to wage war on Syria. That includes the EU as a whole, the EU have imposed sanctions on Syria and sanctions are war by another means. Full text at link.

Following its failure to ram through a resolution against syria at the united nations security council last week, the administration of barack obama has intensified its preparations to gather a “coalition of the willing” to oust the government of syria and install a us client regime.
The resolution would have imposed new sanctions against damascus under chapter 7 of the un charter, which authorizes the use of military force. The last such resolution by the council was used by the us and nato to justify their war for regime-change in libya. read full story / add a comment
LONDON OLYMPICS 2012 FALSE FLAG OPERATION?

Many believe that London will be rocked by a false flag operation at the 2012 Olympics. It has been proven by MI-5 Whistle-blowers that we live in the age of false flag terror from British Occupied Ireland to the Euphrates. We need be ready even if the 2012 Olympic Games could come and go without an incident. It is better to be prepared for false flags and be ready just in case something something does happen. read full story / add a comment

Irish Republicans have been on dirty protest in Maghaberry for two years -- the kind of situation that led to ten dying on hunger strikes in 1981. Also, opponents of the normalisation of the British occupation of Ireland are being framed and convicted, locked up without charge or being tried for actions back in the 1980s. Meanwhile, the organised Irish Left is averting its head. In what other country would this happen? read full story / add a comment

Abstract: For most progressive activists, it is a given that the military-industrial complex is a clear and highly visible barrier to progressive social change. So it is particularly interesting to note that a number of groups involved in progressive activist education – which are held in high regard by activists – maintain strong links to military and political elites. One of the best known of these organisations is the US-based Albert Einstein Institution. This paper will provide a systematic analysis of the history of this Institution, and the key people associated with it, and demonstrate how their work is intimately linked to the international democracy-manipulating community – whose work is exemplified by the US-based National Endowment for Democracy, a group which is well-known for its support of the failed 2002 coup in Venezuela. This analysis will expose the crucial role such activist educators play in catalysing revolutions in countries deemed appropriative for regime change by transnational elites. In the light of the dubious nature of these educational activities, this paper will conclude by offering a number of suggestions for how concerned citizens and educators may counter the cynical (ab)use of activist education by political elites as a new and powerful tool of imperialism. read full story / add a comment

In Moscow a court has begun hearing the case of three feminist punk rockers who sang a protest song in Moscow's main Orthodox church. The trio are charged with hooliganism and could get seven years in prison.

The hearing, expected to set a trial start date, is being held behind closed doors while supporters and opponents of Pussy Riot demonstrate outside. The women were arrested in February after performing in Christ the Saviour Cathedral.

They have now spent 5 months in prison, and have been refused bail. Other band members who took part in the incident were not arrested. read full story / add a comment

The Magna Carta, the charter of English liberties was imposed on King John in 1215 but it will be dead on its anniversary. Bill Van Auken reports on the suicide bombing in Damascus which killed leading members of Assads Cabinet. The bombing may have been carried out by fundamentalists but it was inspired by Israel or the US. Full text at link.

A suicide bomber's attack on a meeting of cabinet ministers and senior security officials claimed the lives of at least three senior members of the Syrian government of President Bashar al-Assad on Wednesday.

Syrian state media confirmed Wednesday that Defense Minister Dawould Rajha, his deputy, Assef Shawkat, the brother-in-law of the president, and Hasan Turkmani, Assad's security adviser, were killed in the morning blast, which occurred during a top-level meeting held in the tightly secured National Security Building in the Rawda district of central Damascus read full story / add a comment

The media are quick report massacres in Syria. However when real State massacres of civilians take place in India you rarely hear anything. Full text at link.

When we entered the village there was a solemn air about it. The only humans we saw there were some heavily armed paramilitary forces inside the bushes - they might have been from CoBRA force or CRPF. The men in arms averted our gaze. They couldn't meet our eye with the shadow of the dastardly act of a few days ago looming large over them. read full story / add a comment

The Anonymous collective have launched a WikiLeaks-like site called Par:AnoIA (Potentially Alarming Research: Anonymous Intelligence Agency). They won't gather the data themselves but will take submissions.

The project was created as a response to a year of Anonymous releases where the announcement of document dumps generated plenty of media, but the documents’ content got little coverage.

“The reason no one cares about these leaks, as a general rule of thumb, is that they can’t do anything with [them],” said a Paranoia anon volunteering on document processing for the project in an online chat with Wired. “Basically, [we're] making it accessible to anyone that wants to do something with it, in a proper usable format.” read full story / add a comment
