Letter from a serving member of the state of Victoria Police in Australia

Hi Tommy.

I am a current serving member of Victoria Police in Australia. I am embarrassed by my organizations approach to policing this so called pandemic. Just thought Id reach out to you and let you know that there are many among us that dont agree with this approach and are willing to put our careers on the line to speak out against it.

I am one of those and I hope that by me speaking out it may encourage others to do the same.

Following is the body of an email I sent to Victoria Police Management, yesterday, prior to todays protest in Melbourne.

It may cost me my Career but its a small price to pay in the pursuit of liberty and an end to this current dictatorship we are living under.

Keep up the good work.

Are we really supposed to cut off our critical faculties and forget what the CIA has done?

On the 16th of August Ken Loach and Paul Laverty spoke at a meeting in Effernagh, Co Leitrim, to commemmorate the 80th anniversary of the deportation of Jimmy Gralton, while across the river Shannon, the same evening, Mr John Brennan, head of the CIA attended a homecoming "Gathering" event in Kilteenan, Roscommon.

This year’s island-wide Permaculture Gathering will take place on an evolving Permaculture farm in the heart of Ireland this August 3rd – 6th. Building on the momentum from last years gathering in Wicklow, our goal again this year is to organize a weekend camp in a private location to support the growing number of permaculturalists in Ireland by providing an opportunity to network, celebrate & learn from one another.

Opportunities for learning how to work in non-hierarchal ways and share the surplus of knowledge will be key. This will not be a passive event laid on by some others, but rather an active participatory gathering where we create it together. Every participant has a role in making the event happen. Anybody can get involved and help out.

In today's issue of the Observer, Peter Beaumont in Baghdad reports that the US occupation army is enervated, all petered and in crisis: "Exhaustion and combat stress are besieging US troops in Iraq as they battle with a new type of warfare. Some even rely on Red Bull to get through the day. As desertions and absences increase, the military is struggling to cope with the crisis". read full story / add a comment

Chavez : "As Chomsky says here clearly and in depth, the American empire is doing all it can to consolidate its hegemonic system of domination, and we cannot allow them to do that. We cannot allow world dictatorship to be consolidated. The world tyrant’s statement -- cynical, hypocritical, full of this imperial hypocrisy, from the need they have to control everything -- they say they want to impose a democratic model, but that's their democratic model. It's the false democracy of elites, and I would say a very original democracy that's imposed by weapons and bombs and firing weapons. What a strange democracy. Aristotle might not recognize it, or others who are at the root of democracy. What type of democracy do you impose with marines and bombs?" read full story / add a comment

Willie Tiernan had interesting comments to say about a German couple, who have lived in the area for over 10 years, who lodged an Appeal to An Bord Pleanala about the building of a hotel, golf course and 297 holiday homes on Coillte land in Lough Key Forest Park. read full story / add a comment
