http://gezipark.nadir.org/ Gezi Park Istanbul. This is the park they want to turn into a shopping mall. Will Stephen's Green be next? Hello! We are an international translating collective, that recently created a live-ticker about the situation in Turkey. We translate several sources we trust to spread informations about the rebellion in turkey, as the official media in turkey and many other countries as well is too lethargic, to inform the public properly. We translated it into several languages and we would appreciate it if you share the following links as wide as possible. |

I fear under Erdogan an islamist state of totalitarianism is rearing its ugly head. I pity anybody who is a citizen of Turkey, even worse times are ahead of them.
The Turkish state is now ruthlessly pursuing people and organisations involved in the recent protests in Turkey. As reported on the WSWS website, they launched raids against 1000's of people. They also note that the Turkish state had laced water canons in the recent protests with pepper spray
Turkish counterterrorism forces carried out mass arrests Tuesday morning, grabbing scores of people from private homes and offices during sweeps in 21 of the country’s provinces and the major cities of Ankara, Istanbul and Eskisehir.
The arrests targeted parties active in the ongoing protest movement, including the Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) and the Marxist-Leninist Communist Party (MLKP), the Gulf Times reported. According to the Progressive Journalists Association (ÇGD), at least eight journalists were also taken and many more have been subject to police intimidation.
Two days earlier, police arrested over 500 protesters, deploying truncheons, rubber bullets, water cannon and tear gas indiscriminately against crowds that included many families and young children. Doctors reported that the water cannons were laced with chemical agents, leaving first degree burns on many of the victims.

Lawyer describes violent arrests
Lawyer Fatma Elif Koru describes the "brutal" arrest of 49 of her colleagues as they were presenting a press statement at Istanbul's Çağlayan court.
Speaking to the Guardian she said:
We were just gathering to make a press statement about Gezi Park and then the police attacked. It was very brutal. Now 49 lawyer friends are in custody and many are injured.
They even kicked their heads. The lawyers were on the ground. They were hitting us, they were pushing. They built a circle around us and then they attacked.
Here is a report on the events until about the 6th of June.
Don't worry, it's in English, shame she hasn't got round to putting up the translation yet
