Six months after the EU summit in Thessaloniki, 7 people remain incarcerated within the Greek prison system. Simon Chapman (English), Fernando Perez Gorraiz (Spanish), Carlos Martin Martinez (Spanish), Souleiman "Kastro" Dakduk (Syrian), Spyros Tsitsas (Greek) and two Greek juveniles are continuing to be denied justice, despite overwhelming evidence that they have been framed and despite solidarity protests around the world.

Now that it looks likely barring some last minute change of heart that the DCTU will vote down the ATGWU motion caling for a march and work stoppage during working hours at their meeting tomorrow night it's time to really up the ante on these lazy pro-partnership parasites starting a picket/lobby of these DCTU delegates outside Liberty Hall, Eden Quay tomorrow (Tuesday the 11th) night at 7.30pm. Also no matter who's organising it I'm appealing to everyone to support "The Nationwide Day Of Action Against The Bin Tax And The Jailings" on Friday, November 21st. "The leaders of the various leftist groups have decided not to participate in a site they regard as beneath their dignity. They know that they will be attacked by ireful posters in disrespectful and probably vulgar and abusive terms. The rank and file of the various vanguard revolutionary parties are obviously discouraged from going to have a look-see. Those who do speak-up for their parties usually (though not always) sign on anonymously." read full story / add a comment

All party co-operation led to the interuption of a scheme to re-zone 200 acres for housing in Donabate. Cllr. Gerry McGuire (Lab), tabled a number of motions trying to avert this further planning disgrace.
Brainchild of Cllr. Ann Devitt(FG), this re-zoning would apply vast pressure to Donabate's groaning infrastructure and further destroy this beautiful peninsula.
More detailed report to come. To witness this sad turn of events for yourself, attend the next relevent sitting of Fingall County Council, when the debate will continue. When date decided it will be posted on this site.

The anti-capitalist movement (no global) was out on the streets of Italy last week with two huge strikes over pensions, workers rights and social rights. Meanwhile in Iraq the americans are getting hit by resistance at the level they never expected. The ESF in Paris will be enthused by these movements and we hope that it will represent these movements and call for a untied day of action around europe for social rights and one against the war. Paris will be huge and another step forward for the global anti-capitalist movement. Bertie and FF keep going downwards here ~(whey hey!) and we will have huge potential to unite a lot of forces in building opposition to the EU meetings starting on january.

WE met on saturday in the Snug, Dorset St and this is what was discussed and decided; read full story / add a comment
