AT THE Stop the War Coalition (STWC) Steering Committee on 15 July in London a resolution was moved by a UNISON delegate on developments in Italy and, in particular, the left party Communist Refoundation (RC).

The resolution "noted with grave concern" the decision of the RC to vote with Prodi's government coalition to maintain Italian troops in Afghanistan, correctly stating that this would be a "blow to the anti-war movement in Italy and across the world."

Indirectly confirmed by John Bolton, U.S. Ambassador to the UN (and sociopath) in a public statement; the first casualty of war is LANGUAGE – the needless slaughter of innocent children in Qana by an Israeli airstrike was an “accident of war”! In the face of an obvious war crime it is now incumbent on the Bush regime, especially its representatives Bolton and Rice, to define the rules of engagement and what constitutes a war crime. We do not forget how quick the U.S. and NATO were to condemn war crimes in the Balkan conflict – it would seem that allies of the U.S. (Israel) are immune; their obvious crimes become tragic ‘accidents’ whereas those opposed to the U.S. are war criminals and liable to indefinite incarceration (‘Torture’ Bay) or trial in an ‘independent’ court at the Hague. read full story / add a comment

It goes some way to explain certain bizarre findings in the Cassels report , such as the lie that the project has the backing of the majority of local people etc. when the the truth one finds from visting the area is obviously quiet the opposite

The train's rolling stock and interior :dated.

The exterior: over the carriage couplings, new paint-work, inside each one had a leak, which wet all
luggage of passengers.

The Bathrooms: smelly and small.

No trolley, food car or facilities to heat bottles, change diapers, breast feed.

No facilities for disposing hygenically of sanitary equipment.

Exacberated by a 25 minute delay outside Heuston.
Intending greeting parties waited and left, as the board lit up 'on time'
and then the Castlebar train vanished off the board. This is travelling, Celtic Tiger style.
