There is a call for a massive Demo at the Egyptian Embassy in Solidarity with the Egyptian People, all are welcome, please invite as many people to this event as possible.

Earlier today(2/2/2011), witnesses said the military allowed thousands of pro-Mubarak supporters, armed with sticks and knives, to enter Tahrir Square. Opposition groups said Mubarak had sent in thugs to suppress anti-government protests.

Our message to the people of Egypt:
We will stand in solidarity with you, we support your struggle for freedom, democracy and human rights.

Bring your Flag and your banners but most of all bring your spirit.

Please help by inviting your friends to this event and most of all come and stand in solidarity.

Act for Palestine is not organising this event we are just passing the information on from the Egyptian/Muslim community in Ireland.

Egypt unrest: Hosni Mubarak must stay - US envoy

US special envoy Frank Wisner has said that Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak should remain in power to oversee a transition.

The remarks appear to contradict previous US calls for Mr Mubarak to begin an immediate transition, as demanded by protesters.

The State Department has not yet commented.

Mr Wisner also welcomed the resignation en masse of Egypt's ruling party politburo.

Senior figures including Mr Mubarak's son Gamal have left their posts.

..a bit of a mother superior on the gun back there. Hanging on still. Junior skipped to London. Haaretz has breaking news that Cheyney(yep, still alive) has just warmly endorsed 'our reliable ally'. Somehow I think Hosni would prefer that little kiss of approval didn't trickle down to street level.
