there calling for regulation of head shops, which isn't a bad idea. theres no quality control on any of the sustances sold there. not knowing difinitivly what theese substances are made off on a given week has practical consequences when addicts od and end up in hospital. where do the doctors start in treating them with. will the drugs there useing to treat react with the substances the individual has taken.
believe head shops are possibly a better option than drug dealers but there still reckless, as they exist they can't continue, thats not to say they should be driven out of town but rules have to be set out for them. what Sf are saying is work out the practicalities, that in its self is a move from SF's traditional conservative stance on the issue. not unreasonable in my view.
The crime bosses don't exactly have a lot of regulation on what their lackeys sell to your kids either. At least with the head shops you could potentially put a testing regime into force. Try negotiating that with the local crime boss drug baron. The whole head shop hysteria was typical ostrich Ireland complete with knee jerk Joe duffy legislation. Now it's all going back underground and the drug barons have bought up all the old stock really cheap. Typical Irish solution. Think about it. In 2 years the head shops did more to stop revenue to drug barons than the CAB and gardai ever did and paid the state while doing it. So we closed them down. Now your kids will buy totally unregulated rat poison from the local criminal lowlife and have his life wrecked if he gets indebted to them. An Irish response to a golden opportunity. Bah!
Sinn fein are just looking for "joe duffy" hysterical idiot votes by adopting this stance. Can't blame them I suppose. After all, it seems there is a lot of people like that out there.
Democracy: A tyranny of the stupid
We get exactly what politicians we deserve. They just campaign on whatever issues they believe we idiots get hot under the collar about. Well at least the daft distracting issues that don't upset the interests of any of the rich corporate (or organised crime??) folks whom they really all work for.
yes you could do all that with head shops, agree totaly. sorry if i gave the intention other wise grammer is shit, point iam making is its not happening, people are talking in cornors about the posibility of it happenig, the shinners put down legislation for it to happen, look at what they put down, its actually very close to what your on about. the shinners are calling for a regulatory council. accept a new way is needed. they don't believe in compeate liberalisation for headshops but thats not unreasonable is it, even a publican or off licence has rules, rules isn't a bad word is it.
it would be nieve to place headshops on a pedestal they have some problems, yes there is hysteria but also people have ended up in hospital very quickly after taking there products, one the user doesn't know how to take proporly the product and two the hospitals don't know how to handle the consequences of theese new ods. both are learning curves and good reasons for some central authority on them, not all critisism is wrong some hysteria is generated genuinely. all of it can be addressed adicuatly.
What are the sinners saying? To me they are all over the place, they seem to want to attact every one else at the same time, poor sinners ,no one loves them any more.
did any one ever love the shinners in fairness. what i can make out what there saying. as head shops stand there selling products without any regulation what so ever. this is dangerous to public health. at the same time people are useing headshops for recreation porposes, this is preferable to useing drug dealers. place the products head shops are selling under some form of authority. there proposeing that head shops as they stand will change and drug culture as its practiced will change.
I'm disappointed that SF are willing to lineup with all the reactionary elements in this country, I'd expect better from them, possibly a call for a debate on the whole issue rather than attacking PBP and Labour.
Is there any proof that dealers own shops?
There's only been a few instances of an actual relaxed look at the situation, in hotpress of all places and this article here for those interested.

Sinn fein and their ilk are well used to taking out Unionists in the north.
