If you wondered where the MSM get all their lurid stories attributing 'extreme weather' to climate change, look no further than a new job ad for a "researcher" focused on creating alarmist propaganda, says Chris Morrison.

Porsche has scrapped its sales targets for EVs amid a slump in demand. A previous goal of 80% by 2030 has been watered down and the company now says sales will depend on uptake and how the technology develops.

Revolutionary Greetings for 2010

category international | rights, freedoms and repression | press release author Thursday December 31, 2009 21:16author by Ardoyne Republican - Republican Network for Unity (RNU) Report this post to the editors

The republican network for unity (R.N.U.) would like to thank all the people and organisations who supported our aims, objectives and campaigns throughout the year of 2009. We move into this new decade as a young, vibrant, determined and highly organised republican socialist alternative with support growing for our position of putting the working class first throughout the 32 counties and beyond. As an organisation the network supports the concept and practice of real community empowerment free from all selfish political interests. The struggle for a 32 county socialist republic lies at the heart of the networks ethos and work.

In the 26 counties we witnessed the complete failure of the ‘non-inclusive Celtic Tiger’, we saw wages fall to new lows and many migrant workers return home. Throughout our island the banks and the richest parts of Irish society were ‘bailed out’ by the state and working class who retain little more than toxic debt for future generations. In essence, 2009 was the culmination and ultimate failure of the idea that ‘greed is good’.

The year of 2009 witnesses some of the worst political policing and repression by the P.S.N.I/ R.U.C. and their MI5 bosses. The so called accountability through the policing boards was revealed to be little more than a sham and consultation was revealed to be non- existent. The year was dominated by the application of internment by remand of men like Colin Duffy and Terry McCafferty, thousands of section 44 stop and searches were carried out against the nationalist and republican community and the systematic harassment of republican socialists continued in every part of the world from Cork to Lithuania. The year was also marked by the sad death of John Brady while being detained in P.S.N.I custody..

Throughout 2010 and beyond, the network will re-double our support for economic, social and political justice and equality for the working class. The network sends its pledge of support to all communities fighting the scourge of drug dealers, poor housing conditions and repression regardless of their politics or creed. We have recently witnessed the rise of racism in several nationalist areas throughout the 32 counties. The R.N.U. states unequivocally that racism is the tool of the state, it sets worker against worker and it is the anti- thesis of our republican tradition! Most of us have experienced anti – Irish racial harassment and abuse over the years we cannot allow this cancer to take hold in our communities. It is with great pride that we send revolutionary greetings to our supporters in Ireland, (especially Scotland) and throughout the world at this time of year. What should mark us out as different, in this coming decade, is our desire to see and our actions to attain freedom, justice and dignity for all the citizens of this island.

Exactly what it says on the Tin .

While the wording on the opening introduction seems honest enough and must in all fairness be commended , i dont see the point of 'we are all in this together scenario' when the O.S. goes on to state 'the fight against drugs etc' what exactly is meant is beyond moi.

This Government has effectivly sent the people indoors with the now infamous badly thought out Smoking Ban which was instigated by the hospitality industry who screamed they did NOT WANT to work in an envirnoment where persons smoked ,so we now have thousands of the latter walking around getting all the clean air that they want , but are now unemployed as a direct result of such a ridiculous idea , ok . Go to any off license and buy your booze for consumtion at home where, you, or i, can then in the comfort of our home drink ourselves in to obliviation should we so succumb to the relatively cheap price of booze...Gone is the conversation which was an art form over a pint of Guinness and a cigarette or ten , gone is the watchful eye towards our elderly neighbours who may have dropped into the pub just for the few drinks and a bit of company ...And as for drugs well of course there is an increase of consumption and an increase of young people becoming local dealers will escalate in certain areas of already high unemployment as soon as the new 'jobseekers allowance' is pushed through with all its terms and conditions attached....Gone is the purchace of new clothing as a result of people becoming house hatchers and who are already going through the motions of 'Cabin Fever' with, in some cases, just the Television to look towards for company...
We need people to move around in order this economy should thrive once again ,that is why the taxi men are already complaining of very little business simply because we are generally content to stay at home....Should the smoking ban be reversed is something i would not know about but what i do know is we are now a nation of selfish people who are hooked on cheap drink and dodgy hashish amongst other 'things' that are available .

How we should address such issues is really one for the professors of social ethics , But, be aware of the danger ahead of a society who seem to have lost the trust of each other simply because we were fooled into accepting an outright smoking ban with no debate whatsover except 'little trinkits' cleverly slotted in to remind us of the danger of tobacco consumption and the high cost to the health service 'should we continue' whereas now we are heading for more expensive health costs and as the old cliche will tell us, 'Time Will Tell'....

Lest we forget the danger's of boozing in a family envirnoment ,too numerous to mention here but the contributers to Indymedia Ireland will certainly 'see what i am saying' on that score...
