A talk will be given by Ciaron O'Reilly, a non-violent anti-war and human rights activist, on Thursday, 24 April, at 8pm in Room C1060, University of Limerick. In the talk, Ciaron will share from his wide ranging experiences and speak about the links between war and human rights abuses. He will reflect in particular on the global situation and on the role of Shannon Airport in facilitating war and attacks on human rights. The talk will be followed by discussion on responses to the ongoing use of Shannon airport by the US military, and the ongoing failure of the Irish government to investigate its role in CIA networks of torture. |
