death Penalty 2005 Amnesty report & Guantanamo List & 911.

category international | rights, freedoms and repression | news report author Thursday April 20, 2006 20:29author by iosaf Report this post to the editors

Amnesty International's annual report on the use of the Death Penalty has been published today, and serves a reminder that China, Iran and the USA continue to execute the most of their prisoners.

In 2005 over 2,148 people were executed in 22 countries, of whom 1770 were in China, 94 in Iran and 60 in the USA. 94% of those killed were in China, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the USA. An additional 5,186 people were sentenced to death

so far in 2006, 8 children have been executed in Iran, they join the statistics of underage offenders executed since 2000, the complete figure being 26, the majority of whom were executed in the USA.

Our global western project of liberty it appears is led by the state that has executed the most kids.

the USA has also issued a list of those held (without charge or due process of law) at the Gulag camp of Guantanamo Bay, an island ceded to the USA by Cuba.
This was in response to a law suit by the Associated Press under "freedom of information" legislation in the USA.

There are (according to the list) 558 people detained at the camp.

"The largest number of detainees on the list came from Saudi Arabia, with 132, followed by Afghanistan with 125 and Yemen with 107. The prisoners came from 40 countries and the West Bank. Only 10 of the detainees at the US naval base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, have been charged, and not one of the trials has been completed."

Only one person has ever been charged with the terrorist event of September 11 in the USA: The case against him relied heavily on evidence from France and Germany who both honouring their comitments under international law (as signatories to the Council of Europe's declaration of human rights and the UN international declaration of Human Rights), have withdrawn their evidence in protest at the expected death sentance which will be passed against Zacarias Moussaoui. Moussaui is currently facing his death penalty trial. His defence have now taken the stand.

if you're interested in being executed, its really not difficult. All you need really is, a lower than average IQ, live in either Texas or Tehran, & get caught doing something. It doesn't even have to be "something too bad". You could as in Texas just commit a crime you are incapable of understanding the significance of. Or as in Tehran just use your tongue on someone with the same genitalia as you. Once you're executed, you will be buried, unless of course you're in China, then the useful bits of you (not your genitalia) will be sold to the highest bidder for organ transplants. Its a delightful world.

As we all know executions don't happen in Ireland or her neighbour the UK.

But I want to add these three names to the list :-

In May 2005, the ERU (Garda emergency response unit) killed two civilians described as "career criminals" after a raid on a post office, arising concern that this demonstrated a "shoot to kill" policy under the minister of justice Michael Mc Dowell's "operation Anvil".

On July 22nd a Brazilian man, Juan Charles de Menezes was shot dead at Stockwell Tube station in London. There has yet been a proper explanation.

& lest anyone forget, here as on indymedia UK, the sad and sorry affair was recorded
Police shoot man dead on London Tube. "suspicious" (here coverage began from 12h00 onwards)

it makes some reading, considering the manipulation and lies later uncovered.

in a small way that is US history.
it was all a fake
A jury and court with the power to impose the death penalty did not.
Iraqi's & Afghani's died instead

That constitutes a breach of international human right legislation to which Ireland is a signatory at both UN and Council of Europe level.

That will go into the 2006 report.
If the press are not allowed access to monitor the events that led up to that breach of Human Rights comitments by the Irish State-
That will go in the 2006 Press Freedom Report.

If the Irish state can not remove a group of desperate men from a cathedral within 9 hours, service will not happen in that building for the first time since Oliver Cromwell stabled his horses.
Now even the thickest of us know our "what have the Brits ever done for us Top 10" http://www.langerland.com/content/view/37/59/ & we know that Cromwell was the biggest prick in Europe, a long time ago, before Big Swinging Mickey Mc dowell got upset about black people in Dublin.

Of course not one of us can do anything about it now.
The Department of Justice and Irish State have cut our lines of communication and isolated the spokespeople of the groups & rejected the solution brokered by the Church of Ireland
http://www.ireland.anglican.org/pressreleases/index.php...p=662
Its like we can do nothing now to deal with the "n-u-t-t-e-r-s" inside.

Once your Amnesty and Press Freedom Report rankings are lost -
You will not get as much international investment anymore, and you can kiss your hospital beds, free school books and dinners for the kids, and pension funds slán leat

You know who to blame. & this time it aint Oliver Cromwell.
