All around the world airports are being built and enlarged in countries which appear to realise the 'climate crisis' is just a load of nonsense. But not in poor, gullible Britain.

Mugabe on Food, Bush, Blair & Evil.

category international | summit mobilisations | other press author Monday October 17, 2005 15:38author by iosaf Report this post to the editors

"Must we allow these men, the two unholy men of our millennium, who in the same way as Hitler and Mussolini formed [an] unholy alliance, form an alliance to attack an innocent country?"
...
"The voice of Mr Bush and the voice of Mr Blair can't decide who shall rule in Zimbabwe, who shall rule in Africa, who shall rule in Asia, who shall rule in Venezuela, who shall rule in Iran, who shall rule in Iraq,"
...
"Is this the world we desire? The world of giants and international terrorists who use their state muscle in order to intimidate us? We become the midgets,."
...
"Where are their democratic tenets? Where is their morality? Where is their compliance with the salient principles of good government?"

Richard Mugabe left Harare Zimbabwe on friday last to attend as chief of state the 60th anniversary of the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), a United Nations agency which is meeting in Rome at the moment.

The Rome meeting comes 10 days after a joint FAO/World Health Organisation (WHO) regional conference on food safety for Africa held in Harare.

This is Mugabe's second visit to Rome in 2005.

Mugabe is officially banned from visiting any EU state (for rigging elections), but attended the funeral arrangements of the last pope as a guest of the Vatican and devout kathurlick and is still allowed as chief of state to attend UN summits.

His speech offered him the first opportunity to make reference to Operation Murambatsvina in front of a very select audience. & he did so justifying the clearances of city slums in Zimbabwe earlier this year as serving the national interest.

His references being reported in state controlled Zimbabwean press as :-
"contrary to widely disseminated misrepresentations by Zimbabwe’s detractors, the President said, there was now a brighter future for the country’s farming community across colour, gender and ethnic divides."

the UK has recently seen proposals by Blair to deport Zimbabweans stopped through a court appeal process. Blair's most vocal international critic is indeed the Zimbabwean president, and there's little love lost.

The summit has also seen Chavez say this:-

"I hereby accuse the North American empire of being the biggest menace to our planet,"

Not much love lost there either.

the UN FAO talk about food every year and even celebrate a "food day". This is the day when you are glad to have nosh, unlike the many thousands who die every day coz they've got no nosh.
This year's food day was last weekend.

How could Mugabe say such things? Oh well, they protested his visit in the strongest terms, he ought not be let out of Zimbabwe. & by his side was Chavez. Well what can one expect? Chavez just expelled American christian missionaries from Venezuala to mark Colombus day. He's anti-american. Only an "anti-american" could say that the whole world is threatened by the "north american empire".

the Zimbabwean state media coverage:-
http://www.zimbabweherald.com/index.php?id=47965&pubdate=2005-10-18

I spent last night watching videos of Fidel Castro.
40 years of speeches and interviews in 6 hours, including those very rare moments when he spoke english. The most memorable being on his way to the UN to speak as the leader of the "non-aligned" group of nations. Whatever one thinks of Cuba and the Cubans and their suffering now, or what or who Castro was / is / has come, some of those words which were so often delivered in defiance of the "north american empire" still stir. Castro's oratory relied on a theatrical device, which began in the 1950s. He would pause and adjust the microphones, moving one a little and looking at it. Then move to offer the audience a side profile and punctuate his speech with the usual triplets. The oratory changes, some would say demogoguery changes, revolutions run sour, some would say they are stopped by the imperialists. But the words of fine speeches remain the same. Chavez probably does with his weekly "hola presidente!" TV program the same things to the minds of venezualans, as those first revolutionaries of the 1960s did to Cubans. He is "starting out".
Castro is a bit like Mugabe, for many he is a dinosaur. One who remains though his fight belonged to another age. One who's people have suffered more under the "revolution" than the "empire". Castro remains (as ridiculous as it sounds) because he survived. = He defied the Yankee and lived. What's the secret with Mugabe? Why is Mugabe still the sole voice of the discontent african statesman? I had thought in this year of G8 Africa! summits and speeches to get an answer. Are there enough discontent africans with "anti-american" and "anti-british" sentiments to warrent Mugabe?

Joshua Nkomo would have been a Just leader. Mugabes another in a Far too long line of african tinpot dictators living high on the backs of the masses.

Zimbabwe(Then Rhodesia) was Pre-Mugabe considered the Breadbasket of Africa. It regulalry exported foodstuffs, and no Zimbabweans were starving, today it is far different.

Now you see waht Idi Amin looked like before the Massive killings to come
