Deliberate Design Flaw In ChatGPT-5 Sun Aug 17, 2025 08:04 | Mind Agent
Socratic Dialog Between ChatGPT-5 and Mind Agent Reveals Fatal and Deliberate 'Design by Construction' Flaw
This design flaw in ChatGPT-5's default epistemic mode subverts what the much touted ChatGPT-5 can do... so long as the flaw is not tickled, any usage should be fine---The epistemological question is: how would anyone in the public, includes you reading this (since no one is all knowing), in an unfamiliar domain know whether or not the flaw has been tickled when seeking information or understanding of a domain without prior knowledge of that domain???!
This analysis is a pretty unique and significant contribution to the space of empirical evaluation of LLMs that exist in AI public world... at least thus far, as far as I am aware! For what it's worth--as if anyone in the ChatGPT universe cares as they pile up on using the "PhD level scholar in your pocket".
According to GPT-5, and according to my tests, this flaw exists in all LLMs... What is revealing is the deduction GPT-5 made: Why ?design choice? starts looking like ?deliberate flaw?.
People are paying $200 a month to not just ChatGPT, but all major LLMs have similar Pro pricing! I bet they, like the normal user of free ChatGPT, stay in LLM's default mode where the flaw manifests itself. As it did in this evaluation.
AI Reach: Gemini Reasoning Question of God Sat Aug 02, 2025 20:00 | Mind Agent
Evaluating Semantic Reasoning Capability of AI Chatbot on Ontologically Deep Abstract (bias neutral) Thought
I have been evaluating AI Chatbot agents for their epistemic limits over the past two months, and have tested all major AI Agents, ChatGPT, Grok, Claude, Perplexity, and DeepSeek, for their epistemic limits and their negative impact as information gate-keepers.... Today I decided to test for how AI could be the boon for humanity in other positive areas, such as in completely abstract realms, such as metaphysical thought. Meaning, I wanted to test the LLMs for Positives beyond what most researchers benchmark these for, or have expressed in the approx. 2500 Turing tests in Humanity?s Last Exam.. And I chose as my first candidate, Google DeepMind's Gemini as I had not evaluated it before on anything.
Israeli Human Rights Group B'Tselem finally Admits It is Genocide releasing Our Genocide report Fri Aug 01, 2025 23:54 | 1 of indy
We have all known it for over 2 years that it is a genocide in Gaza
Israeli human rights group B'Tselem has finally admitted what everyone else outside Israel has known for two years is that the Israeli state is carrying out a genocide in Gaza
Western governments like the USA are complicit in it as they have been supplying the huge bombs and missiles used by Israel and dropped on innocent civilians in Gaza. One phone call from the USA regime could have ended it at any point. However many other countries are complicity with their tacit approval and neighboring Arab countries have been pretty spinless too in their support
With the release of this report titled: Our Genocide -there is a good chance this will make it okay for more people within Israel itself to speak out and do something about it despite the fact that many there are actually in support of the Gaza
China?s CITY WIDE CASH SEIZURES Begin ? ATMs Frozen, Digital Yuan FORCED Overnight Wed Jul 30, 2025 21:40 | 1 of indy
This story is unverified but it is very instructive of what will happen when cash is removed
THIS STORY IS UNVERIFIED BUT PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEO OR READ THE TRANSCRIPT AS IT GIVES AN VERY GOOD IDEA OF WHAT A CASHLESS SOCIETY WILL LOOK LIKE. And it ain't pretty
A single video report has come out of China claiming China's biggest cities are now cashless, not by choice, but by force. The report goes on to claim ATMs have gone dark, vaults are being emptied. And overnight (July 20 into 21), the digital yuan is the only currency allowed.

Just look at the year Rory Hearne has had, all enthuasism and no response from students....
Maybe its time for USI to start looking at what students really want then?
Maybe they're not getting responses from students because they're not doing anything that interests them?
Maybe its time to stop shouting about issues that aren't really issues? (eg fees!)
Nominations close on 4th March. Withdrawals on 11th March.
Oh the thrill.
Let's just hope there's none of the offensive and personal stuff that marred last year's elections posts on Indymedia. And here's hoping for a team who can unite the movement and be fun.
Francis and Jarlath are definitely not running...
oh, and Rory hasn't done a tap of work this year - probably the reason why the campaigns are so shite
Rumours circulating after last week's Council in UCD suggested a few prominent left wing candidates from Belfield....anyone any more details?
if prev comments right thne there are two left-wing pres candidates in Heleed and Fergal, and Tony as the right-wing fianna failer...
who else running form UCD?
paul dillon from ucd has been tipped for the usi pres race - wud be excellent!
Paul Dillon's the former president of UCDSU, isn't he? Would he not be a bit out of the loop to be getting votes this year?
Pathetic. Lefts and student activists need to rebuild a left in the colleges instyead of fucking about tyaking meaningless positions. These positions are a complete waste unless backed up with some activism on the ground.
USI delegates should Vote RON for all officers and build a left organisation on the ground.
that is all.
Tony is not a FFer, going by comments he made in NUIG Law Soc last month he is a SFer. "attacks on SF are politically motivated"..... "McDowells attacks on SF are attacks on the peace process"... grow up you tosser. Anyways, whats the point of USI? Last i heard of them was they were bankrupt.
An absolute useless organisation in my opinion it's just a talk shop for lefties
An absolute useless organisation in my opinion it's just a talk shop for lefties
So USI is a talk shop for lefties. The last left wing president of USI was Julian De Spainn in 2000/2001. The current president is Ben Archibald who is a member of the British Conservative party. Kevin, you haven't a clue what you are talking about. Perhaps you should become more informed before you make such statements.
Jarlath Molloy is going for a late late nomination for usi president - a deal has been worked out between the big su voters in return for usi reform
he isn't going for usi. i know him very well, and this is bulls**t
Eh what about welfare, equality, Dep Pres, education etc? Any rumours?
rumour has it that the current Education Officer of TCD is going for USI..
And Heledd's not a leftie, she's just a careerist who does a shit job..
Which I admit is not a disqualification for the left but still..
rumours are that incompetent uper-hack dep pres from tcd - ruth ni eidhan - is running for dep pres of usi. please say it isn't so...
Are that Rory Hearne is running for President of USI. Vote for Rory and USI policy will be decided by the SWP National Committee.
rory as pres, ruth as dep pres. why does trinity push its losers upon to the rest of us?
You could do a lot worse for a Dep Pres than Ruth in trinity. Namely Weafer in UCD. or Rory in USI.
But apart from anything, Rory wouldn't get pres, he was useless in represnting members at DP, how would he be any better at pres???
At last nights Trinity Exec meeting it was agreed to nominate Heledd for President. Ruth Ni Eidhin and Patrick Nulty for Deputy President and Daithi Mac Sithigh for Education.
You missed some of the others, friend.
who else was nominated?
Mike Miley was nominated for Welfare, seeing as he's a postgrad now.
John Walsh is also going for Education Officer - the battle of the greats!
Rumours are still abound about Francis going El Presidente. He's been thinking about it and has until Friday to decide. The bettystown boy might be claiming his seat at the top of USI still!
In fact, it looks like USI will just be an extension of TCDSU at this stage. Where are the non-TCDSU people going for the positions?
would be great to see John Walsh have to run for something! Although his avowed hatred of USI might present some difficulties!
No, I heard that he obtained new-found love for the organisation over the summer. Well, as long as he's happy.
The following 7 candidates have received nominations from TCD Students' Union:
Tony McDonnell (President)
Heledd Fychan (President)
Ruth Ní Eidhin (Deputy President)
Patrick Nulty (Deputy President)
Daithí Mac Síthigh (Education Officer)
Tom Lowth (Welfare Officer)
Ailish Fitzsimons (Equality Officer)
Obviously, there is no guarantee that all of the above will end up running, and also, the destination of votes has yet to be dealt with. However that's all that have requested nominations from us to date, Trinity or non-Trinity.
Not very interesting really, is it? Nominations will be out on Friday so that might be a little more newsworthy.
Can't be long now! Is this the year that the whole USI becomes a job opportunity for retired TCD hacks?
Are they the only ones running? Are they the best candidates for the job?
Who knows?
Who CARES?
USI is a waste of money, resources and time. There is no need for full time officers to do these jobs. Have one or two officers to do most of this work. All that's really needed is welfare/whatever training for SU officers, a co-ordinator of protests and a spokesperson.
The rest is a waste of resources that would be better utilised in local SU's.
Please?
Expected to run, so far:
President
Heledd Fychan [current USI Education Officer]
Tony O'Donnell [current USI Western Area Officer]
Deputy Pres
Patrick Nulty [TCD: former campaign officer for Labour Youth]
Ruth Ni Eidhan [TCDSU dep pres]
Education
Daithi Mac Sithigh [TCDSU education officer]
There may be a last minute entry from (rumored to be) UCD for the president. The other two positions are expected to remain as above.
As the presidency race currently stands; Fychan is expected to win the presidency reasonably easily, and be the first female president in at least a decade. A third candidate would obviously make the battle tougher.
Mac Sithigh should have no problem overcoming RON.
Dep pres SHOULD go to Nulty seeing as he is former national campaigns officer for Labour Youth. [personal bias: hopefully it will]. But Ni Eidhan will know the voting college officers better than Nulty.
Don't really care about the other positions.
What do you think of the above analysis? Anyone?
heledd wont get tcd vote she wanted to speak at tcd council last night and was voted down. when someone read her speech it got no applaus. they also voted against her constitution plan by a big majority.
I think it's very premature to suggest that Fychan will win reasonably easily. i can picture a lot of SU's not voting for her, although picking between her and tony is a difficult choice for many. it'll be really down to hustings? unless a new candidate appears of course! Tomorrow will tell!
Ruth Ní Eidhin, Patrick Nulty - both tcd - for deputy pres
Daithí Mac Síthigh - tcd - for education
Tom Lowth- tcd - for welfare
Ailish Fitzsimons - tcd - for equality
It is a sad day for USI when olny one union put anyone forward for usi elections. Whats wrong with usi? Whats wrong with all the other unions? Whats wrong with TCD - do they not realise there'll be a backlash?!
not trinity's fault that no one else is running. its hardly an attempt to take over unless they stole everyone elses nominations forms. if they arent good candidats then they should not get in. everyone should be treated individually.
Hustings session for USI election candidates will take place as part of a
DIT Students’ Union Governing Council meeting this evening in DIT. There
will also be a hustings session for DIT Students’ Union election
candidates.
The Council meeting will be in DIT Cathal Brugha Street in the KOS theatre
(off the main lobby on the ground floor) at 6.15pm. The Council meeting is
open to observers and all are welcome.

I think that its a bit unfair to suggest that Trinity is trying to take over. Why didn't somebody else run then? If they were the only ones with enough interest in running - go for it I say.
As for nominations:
Pres:
Can't see Heledd getting it, she's not very well liked. Don't know the other candiadate.
Dep Pres:
Hopefully Nulty, from what I've heard, Ruth isn't very popular amongst the everday students within Trinity.
Don't know about the others. Anybody else know?
DITSU's votes for usi elections -
President
1. Heledd Fychan
2. Tony McDonnell
3. RON
Deputy President / Campaigns Officer
1. RON
2. Ruth Ní Eidhin
3. Patrick Nulty
Education Officer
1. Daithí Mac Síthigh
2. RON
Welfare Officer
1. Tom Lowth
2. RON
Equality Officer
1. RON
2. Ailish Fitzsimons
doing the ron, ron on both dep pres candidates - ouch! - that should put Nulty in with a fighting chance. he prob has ucd.
o'donnell must be out of the picture for pres now if he couldn't get DIT. did anyone go to the hustings - how were the speeches?
Tony McDonnell will be ok without DITSU, most country colleges will support him, as will NUIG and maybe UCC. Ruth will get Dep, because Nulty is seen as having no su experience, like the welfare candidate Tom Lowth. Daithi is a shoe in for education. Ailish will prob get in aswell because nobody cares about equality. If welfare is ron then the ITs will nominate someone.
results please?
As requested............
President
1. RON
2. Tony McDonnell
Deputy President / Campaigns Officer
1. Patrick Nulty
2. RON
3 Ruth Ní Eidhin
Education Officer
1. Daithí Mac Síthigh
2. RON
Welfare Officer
1. RON
2. Tom Lowth
Equality Officer
1. RON
2. Ailish Fitzsimons
This came up at a council meeting the other day and the gereral conclusion was who gives a shit.
I didn't even know who was in USI till christmas even then it was only the president.
I am in a small college perhaps so we wouldn't be as important.
I've heard that Heledd Fychan (pres nominee) has withdrawn from the race? is this true??
It is true, she pulled out yesterday for personal reasons.
Its a real disappointment, her campaign was going really well as far as i know. She had DITs votes and probably UCD's votes.
At UCD council last night, one of the USI hacks said that it really is personal reasons.
I think we all wish there was more competition though.
I'd agree with Kerry that more competition would be great, but in fairness, the people running were just a few of the 250,000 members who were eligible for election.
It's all well and good to claim TCD is taking over USI, but it wouldn't be fair to punish the current candidates for showing an interest in our National Union!
No decision was taken on the welfare officer race at UCDSU Council.
All the above mandates are provisional - if another candidate enters the race they may change.
UCDSU also voted by a near-unanimity to oppose the proposed new USI Constitution. Current Education Officer and President Elect James Carroll cut a lonely figure as the sole proponent of the slash-and-burn proposals in the new Constitution - elsewhere across the political spectrum, there was widespread dismay at the removal of Disability Rights and Environmental Awareness Officers, the new reduction in representation of part-time students and a number of other proposals.
Trinity also voted 100% to oppose the constitution.
Dermot,
How could a new candidate enter the race? Aren't nominations closed?
Ailish Fitzsimons has withdrawn from the equality officer election.
Any results on who won what?
Also the outcome of the constitutional amend?
constitution was lost by one vote! it was just barely under 2/3rds majority
Tony O'Donnell, Ruth ni Eidhan, Daithi MacSithigh, Tom Louth got the positions of pres, dep pres, education, welfare respectively
