Fraud and mismanagement at University College Cork Thu Aug 28, 2025 18:30 | Calli Morganite UCC has paid huge sums to a criminal professor
This story is not for republication. I bear responsibility for the things I write. I have read the guidelines and understand that I must not write anything untrue, and I won't.
This is a public interest story about a complete failure of governance and management at UCC.
Deliberate Design Flaw In ChatGPT-5 Sun Aug 17, 2025 08:04 | Mind Agent Socratic Dialog Between ChatGPT-5 and Mind Agent Reveals Fatal and Deliberate 'Design by Construction' Flaw
This design flaw in ChatGPT-5's default epistemic mode subverts what the much touted ChatGPT-5 can do... so long as the flaw is not tickled, any usage should be fine---The epistemological question is: how would anyone in the public, includes you reading this (since no one is all knowing), in an unfamiliar domain know whether or not the flaw has been tickled when seeking information or understanding of a domain without prior knowledge of that domain???!
This analysis is a pretty unique and significant contribution to the space of empirical evaluation of LLMs that exist in AI public world... at least thus far, as far as I am aware! For what it's worth--as if anyone in the ChatGPT universe cares as they pile up on using the "PhD level scholar in your pocket".
According to GPT-5, and according to my tests, this flaw exists in all LLMs... What is revealing is the deduction GPT-5 made: Why ?design choice? starts looking like ?deliberate flaw?.
People are paying $200 a month to not just ChatGPT, but all major LLMs have similar Pro pricing! I bet they, like the normal user of free ChatGPT, stay in LLM's default mode where the flaw manifests itself. As it did in this evaluation.
AI Reach: Gemini Reasoning Question of God Sat Aug 02, 2025 20:00 | Mind Agent Evaluating Semantic Reasoning Capability of AI Chatbot on Ontologically Deep Abstract (bias neutral) Thought
I have been evaluating AI Chatbot agents for their epistemic limits over the past two months, and have tested all major AI Agents, ChatGPT, Grok, Claude, Perplexity, and DeepSeek, for their epistemic limits and their negative impact as information gate-keepers.... Today I decided to test for how AI could be the boon for humanity in other positive areas, such as in completely abstract realms, such as metaphysical thought. Meaning, I wanted to test the LLMs for Positives beyond what most researchers benchmark these for, or have expressed in the approx. 2500 Turing tests in Humanity?s Last Exam.. And I chose as my first candidate, Google DeepMind's Gemini as I had not evaluated it before on anything.
Israeli Human Rights Group B'Tselem finally Admits It is Genocide releasing Our Genocide report Fri Aug 01, 2025 23:54 | 1 of indy We have all known it for over 2 years that it is a genocide in Gaza
Israeli human rights group B'Tselem has finally admitted what everyone else outside Israel has known for two years is that the Israeli state is carrying out a genocide in Gaza
Western governments like the USA are complicit in it as they have been supplying the huge bombs and missiles used by Israel and dropped on innocent civilians in Gaza. One phone call from the USA regime could have ended it at any point. However many other countries are complicity with their tacit approval and neighboring Arab countries have been pretty spinless too in their support
With the release of this report titled: Our Genocide -there is a good chance this will make it okay for more people within Israel itself to speak out and do something about it despite the fact that many there are actually in support of the Gaza
China?s CITY WIDE CASH SEIZURES Begin ? ATMs Frozen, Digital Yuan FORCED Overnight Wed Jul 30, 2025 21:40 | 1 of indy This story is unverified but it is very instructive of what will happen when cash is removed
THIS STORY IS UNVERIFIED BUT PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEO OR READ THE TRANSCRIPT AS IT GIVES AN VERY GOOD IDEA OF WHAT A CASHLESS SOCIETY WILL LOOK LIKE. And it ain't pretty
A single video report has come out of China claiming China's biggest cities are now cashless, not by choice, but by force. The report goes on to claim ATMs have gone dark, vaults are being emptied. And overnight (July 20 into 21), the digital yuan is the only currency allowed. The Saker >>

SESF Details (May '04 Waterford) + DSF Minutes 25-3-04
Dear all,
here we have Dublin Social Forum Working Group minutes from last Thursday
25th March, planning the 2nd ISF for Sat. 19th - Sun 20th June, 2004, Dublin.
And Details of South East Social Forum Alternative Environmental Summit
Fri. 14th - Sun. 16th May 2004, Waterford.
all the best,
Barry. Minutes of a Dublin Social Forum Working Group meeting held on Thursday
25th March 2004 @ 7.30pm in the Comhlámh office, 10 Upper Camden St., Dublin
2.
Present: Paul Kinsella (CPSU, Workers Party), Clare Butler (Gluaiseacht,
Green Party), Mark OConnor, Barry Finnegan (ATTAC), Miren (Brazilian Social
Forum), Mary Kinane (Comhlámh Trade Group)
Apologies: Paul Butler
Chairperson: Clare Butler
Minute-taker: Mary Kinane
1. Introduction
Introductions were made to Miren, minutes of the last meeting were
read and it was agreed to follow the previous agenda.
2. Update on Venues for 2nd ISF June
PB is maintaining contact with Labour Youth of Trinity but it was felt that
there is a need for other societies in Trinity to get involved too in order
to get the venue. CB will liaise with PB re. her contacts in Trinity. The
Royal College of Surgeons is available Saturday but not Sunday and at 900,
it was felt that this was too expensive.
CB will also get in touch with a contact in DCU.
Miren will pursue ATGWU and DIT Aungier St.
It was felt that it was difficult to get colleges for ISF events unless
one knew students or student societies in the college. If anyone reading
this knows or has contacts with possible venues, please get in touch or
pursue it. MK has a standard request letter, which will be sent out on the
ISF communications-emailing list.
3. Follow up on Speakers
Re. International Trade and Development, MK has confirmed Conall OCaoimh
and provisionally Tony Joyce.
Re. Militarism, CB reported that Ed Horgan and Tom Cloonan are unavailable.
Ruairi Quinn has agreed. Tom Cooney is to be followed up and CB will also
ask Roger Cole or Patricia McKenna.
Re. Environment, BF will ask DDB whether speakers have been confirmed.
Re. Fortress Europe, PB has had no definite replies yet. PB is also to ask
Dick Roche and someone from the Institute of European Affairs.
Re. Liberalisation and Public Services, BF is to ask DAPSE and David Begg.
Re. Social Justice, MOC has confirmed Robin Hannon and Brendan Young but
needs to give them the new dates.
It was agreed that everyone designated to contact speakers should report
back by the next meeting and to use the emailing lists in between if anything
arises. By confirming speakers as soon as possible, it will be easier to
get groups interested in attending and hosting workshops.
4. Outreach
MK spoke to Roy Hassey of the Southeast Social Forum. Currently, they are
meeting once a week and have their programme and speakers finalised for
the May 14th-15th environmental social forum summit, which will coincide
with the EU Environmental Ministers meeting in Waterford. The Forum doesnt
have a website at the moment but are interested in establishing links to
the ISF website when updated.
It was agreed that we should aim to have a stall or space at the Convergence
Festival. MK will ring to book a space. There is a need to work on leaflets
that can be distributed for this event plus other events such as the May
Day events. The invite leaflet for groups to get involved needs to be sent
out as well.
BF will contact Vincent Brown again re. his availability to facilitate on
the new dates.
5. Communications/Website
BF reported that we have a person, Cathy, who is happy to be the webmaster
of the ISF website. Currently a new code is being written to update the
site and this should then allow us to be able to publish up minutes of meetings,
etc. using the new password. There will be a space on the right-hand side
of the webpage which will feature all Indymedia related articles on the
ISF. Costs involved are ?165 (domain for one year and half of hosting an
account). There was some discussion over the existing Topica emailing lists.
It was agreed that there were too many and these were not being used. It
was agreed that currently the most efficient way of communicating is to
use the Topica ISF-Comm-talk emailing list. Everyone needs to ensure they
are signed up to this first. Others who cannot attend meetings are also
encouraged to sign up as it allows people to be more active in between meetings.
Minutes can also be sent to this list.
To subscribe to the ISFCommGroup, please follow the instructions:
Send an email to this address:
Isf_Commtalk-Subscribe@Topica.com
Do not write anything in subject line or body text.
You will then receive an email from Topica.com asking was it you that sent
the mail. All you do then is click reply and send. Then you get an email
from Topi ca.com welcoming you and confirming that you are subscribed to
the ISF Communication elist and it tells you what email address to send
to when you want to mail everyone on the list. i.e. ISF_CommTalk@topica.com
6. A.O.B.
It was agreed that on the night of Thursday April 29th, the DSF will hold
their meeting in the Convergence Media Centre as there is an opportunity
to meet with people who are involved organising the next ESF in London who
are interested in sharing experiences.
Next meeting Thursday April 1st in Comhamh, 10 Camden St. at 7.30pm
