Palestinian Rights Activist Ton Hurndall dies in hospital in London

I would like to pay tribute to the life and spirit of Tom Hurndall.
His life cut short by IOF terrorists while working for Palestinian Human rights in the occupied territories.
However the spirit of this young activist the IOF will never take away from him , his family and those that knew Tom and those that admire him for his convictions and actions.
He showed us that as humans some of us do have a consciousness and care for others regardless of race colour or creed.

R.I.P Tom Hurndall. May your courage and bravery be forever known.

the Israeli sniper who assassinated him will now be charged with murder. But don't hold your breath.

The Israeli soldier who murdered Tom may well be hung out to dry as a sop to the West. This scumbag is a Bedouin Arab and was on a charge for smoking dope on duty according to a report in the Guardian today. No fear of losing the Israeli fascist vote for Sharon there.

I was sorry to hear that this young man had finally succumbed to his wounds and passed away. Tis a pity as I do not doubt had he not been shot he would have been a very active and useful member for the ISM. At the same time I know that his chances of making any sort of worthwhile survival were hopelessly small and so I suppose this could be described as a merciful release.

Might I just point out that I don't think now would be the time and place to be going on about Assassinations, murderers etc, especially not in a message of condolensces, seems a little needless.

There have been multiple assassinations, murders and assaults on the pacific observers of the ISM. Let us not forget Rachel Corrie squashed by a bulldozer, the children and their mothers and fathers in the illegally occupied territories, the brave resisters within the Israeli army, people like Mary Kelly who brought medical aid and eyewitness to Nablus.

The bottom link is to today's (Jan 14th 2004) issue of DemocracyNow! which has an interview with a family spokesman for the Hurndalls.

In related news of Israeli State atrocities a young protestor against the new Apartheid Wall was shot in the legs by an Israeli soldier.

The young protestor himself had just finished his military service. His father is a Labour Party mayor who is in favour of a fence "to save Israeli lives" although he wishes it were along the 1967 borders. Nevertheless, the father states that he now doubts the Israeli Army's official statements on the killing of Palestinians.

May Tom's bravery inspire the rest of us into non-violent action against State terrorism.
Hurndall family are in my prayers.
Peace

It's amazing that people like you still believe this crap when even the IDF sturmfuhrers now admit Tom was murdered and are preparing to hang their sniper out to dry as a scapegoat for their policy of ethnic cleansing.

"On Monday, a soldier was indicted on six charges, including one of aggravated assault, over the incident, but Israeli military sources said today that the prosecutor was considering amending the indictment to manslaughter following Mr Hurndall's death."

are just never satisfied with anything Israel does, even when it clearly demonstrates that it is a a state subject to the rule of law. I think there is a name for this: racial prejudice and blind hatred.
