UCC has paid huge sums to a criminal professor

This is a public interest story about a complete failure of governance and management at UCC.

offsite link Deliberate Design Flaw In ChatGPT-5 Sun Aug 17, 2025 08:04 | Mind Agent
Socratic Dialog Between ChatGPT-5 and Mind Agent Reveals Fatal and Deliberate 'Design by Construction' Flaw
This design flaw in ChatGPT-5's default epistemic mode subverts what the much touted ChatGPT-5 can do... so long as the flaw is not tickled, any usage should be fine---The epistemological question is: how would anyone in the public, includes you reading this (since no one is all knowing), in an unfamiliar domain know whether or not the flaw has been tickled when seeking information or understanding of a domain without prior knowledge of that domain???!

This analysis is a pretty unique and significant contribution to the space of empirical evaluation of LLMs that exist in AI public world... at least thus far, as far as I am aware! For what it's worth--as if anyone in the ChatGPT universe cares as they pile up on using the "PhD level scholar in your pocket".

According to GPT-5, and according to my tests, this flaw exists in all LLMs... What is revealing is the deduction GPT-5 made: Why ?design choice? starts looking like ?deliberate flaw?.

People are paying $200 a month to not just ChatGPT, but all major LLMs have similar Pro pricing! I bet they, like the normal user of free ChatGPT, stay in LLM's default mode where the flaw manifests itself. As it did in this evaluation.

offsite link AI Reach: Gemini Reasoning Question of God Sat Aug 02, 2025 20:00 | Mind Agent
Evaluating Semantic Reasoning Capability of AI Chatbot on Ontologically Deep Abstract (bias neutral) Thought
I have been evaluating AI Chatbot agents for their epistemic limits over the past two months, and have tested all major AI Agents, ChatGPT, Grok, Claude, Perplexity, and DeepSeek, for their epistemic limits and their negative impact as information gate-keepers.... Today I decided to test for how AI could be the boon for humanity in other positive areas, such as in completely abstract realms, such as metaphysical thought. Meaning, I wanted to test the LLMs for Positives beyond what most researchers benchmark these for, or have expressed in the approx. 2500 Turing tests in Humanity?s Last Exam.. And I chose as my first candidate, Google DeepMind's Gemini as I had not evaluated it before on anything.

offsite link Israeli Human Rights Group B'Tselem finally Admits It is Genocide releasing Our Genocide report Fri Aug 01, 2025 23:54 | 1 of indy
We have all known it for over 2 years that it is a genocide in Gaza
Israeli human rights group B'Tselem has finally admitted what everyone else outside Israel has known for two years is that the Israeli state is carrying out a genocide in Gaza

Western governments like the USA are complicit in it as they have been supplying the huge bombs and missiles used by Israel and dropped on innocent civilians in Gaza. One phone call from the USA regime could have ended it at any point. However many other countries are complicity with their tacit approval and neighboring Arab countries have been pretty spinless too in their support

With the release of this report titled: Our Genocide -there is a good chance this will make it okay for more people within Israel itself to speak out and do something about it despite the fact that many there are actually in support of the Gaza

This story is unverified but it is very instructive of what will happen when cash is removed
THIS STORY IS UNVERIFIED BUT PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEO OR READ THE TRANSCRIPT AS IT GIVES AN VERY GOOD IDEA OF WHAT A CASHLESS SOCIETY WILL LOOK LIKE. And it ain't pretty

A single video report has come out of China claiming China's biggest cities are now cashless, not by choice, but by force. The report goes on to claim ATMs have gone dark, vaults are being emptied. And overnight (July 20 into 21), the digital yuan is the only currency allowed.

Coke sending a Heavy hitter to Dublin to counteract growth of 'Urban Legends'

category international | anti-capitalism | news report author Friday November 07, 2003 14:22author by ec Report this post to the editors

Seems that the UCD Boycott of Coke Products is turning a few heads in the boardrooms of the Multinational. IMC IRL will tomorrow be publishing an in-depth feature about these 'urban legends. The below is a cut and paste from unison.ie Perhaps some UCD heads should consider contacting SIPTU and arranging to meet the same high-ups as Mr Quiros.

Coca-Cola claims are 'urban legends' A SENIOR executive of Coca-Cola has arrived in Ireland amid concerns over a student union ban on the sale of its products in protest at the company's alleged compliance with paramilitary activities in Colombia. Coca-Cola's director of communications in Latin America, Rafael Fernandez Quiros, is meeting Irish employees and representatives of Siptu, saying the company has been wrongly accused. He said claims about the company had become "urban legends". The sale of Coca-Cola products in outlets operated by UCD Students Union has been banned following a referendum last month, but the issue is to go before students again in a second referendum later this month

Although CocaCola have recently been getting all the headlines in this part of the world in relation to paramilitary groups threatening and killing trade union activists, they're not the only western company who have been implicated.

Recently two executives at Nestle Colombia, Alvaro Javier Castano and Carlos Ramirez, publicly declared members of SINALTRAINAL(the Colombian Food and Drinks Workers Union) to be enemies of the company and "personae non gratae".

Amongst those attacked by the Nestle executives was Onofre Esquivel who on the 11 October found in his locker, inside the Nestle factory in Bugalagrande, a leaflet which proclaimed
"the AUC- United Self Defence Force of Colombia- Valle de Cauca Block- Political Cleaning Section warn ALFONSO ESPINOZA, ROGELIO SANCHEZ, ONOFRE ESQUIVEL and FREDY OCORO that as people opposed to political and economic change, and opposed to development, that they have been declared political targets of our organisation, and are under our surveillance. It is our duty as a political and armed organisation to protect and clean up Colombia. If these people carry on their opposition, you know what will happen"

Later that day, Onofre Esquivel informed Mr Jaime Torres, the head of security at Nestle Colombia, who verified the facts, took a copy of the threat and the next morning informed Mr Gustavo Grisales, the head of human resources for the company. The company has yet to respond.
SINALTRAINAL have requested that people condemn these threats and call on Nestle to gaurantee the safety of those threatened.

Has anyone noticed how Coke has recently made a starring performance in RTE's drama series Fair City ? In the show where the cast seem constantly engaged in drinking or arranging to meet in "McCoys for a drink" , Coke has made a sudden comeback. Particularly since the UCD debate began.

A whiskey and cola becomes a "Jameson and Coke" on Fair City. I don't believe any other such dramatisations internationally advertise named products. Is there something in the RTE code to prevent such product endorsment I wonder?

The air is thick with agendas around Montrose.

in which the good people of Barça and their pals will explain to everyone with a computer why these multi-national-corporations want to subvert the search for sustainable solutions to the crises brought by HyperCapitalist Exploitation.

this quote is translated from one of the plethora of new articles and groups which will work to repair the damage being done in the name of speculation, greed, hypocrisy and the €uro.
{"coca cola: they united money for G. Bush, enslaving kids (Pakistan 1998), really broke financial law (Philipines, 2000), murdered labour rights activists (Colòmbia, 2003), they discriminate racially (USA, 2000), they have systematically been implicated in institutional corruption in order to gain privelage (1998 – 2001), destructión of land lots of land take (Can Fenosa, 2003) for one example.}

the problem extends beyond brands. Its little to with 'quality' and 'taste' more to do with the 'system' to which they belong. Anyone that operates on the patterns of development and systems of production that perpetuates poverty and unsustainable inequality around the world needs a smack on the mouth, i reckon.

They don't make them poor theyy make them dead which is somewhat worse.Coca Cola completely control companies which are involved in a campaign which uses murder as one instruments. They want to crush the union SINAL TRAINAL.Coke refuse to improve security despite the fact that quite often the murders, tortures, kidnaps and intimidations happen inside their plants.

i said perpetuating - there is a difference. You only need to look at where the money that is being generated by enterprises such as coca cola is going - is remaining in the country?. If you want to say that coca cola are providing jobs you have to address the types of jobs they are providing. Are they safe and secure jobs? not by the looks of things. This also puts comapnies such as coke in a position of opportunity where they can re-evaluate their practices to the benefit of the countries that they shift production to and away from

Unless Dillon comes out now and gives a written guarentee that working hours will not be effected in the SU shops the referendum WILL be lost and Coke will be back in UCD.

This "killer Coke" allegation is complete rubbish. Thousands of Trade Unionists have been killed in Colombia in the war between the left wing FARC coke dealers and right wing armed groups.

To say that Coca Cola Inc can possibly stop this happening is naive beyond belief.

All we do is give out contracts to the lowest bidders, discourage union activity because it impedes progress & cost-effectiveness & refute unprovable urbanly mythical allegations of human rights abuses & collusion with death squads.

These are not "our" factories or "our" workers. If the country they're in doesn't have laws that protect workers how is that our fault?

We have merely the responsibilities imposed on us by law and the court cases are still in progress.
In the meantime it's business as usual & quit picking on us. It's not like everyone isn't doing it.
