This is a public interest story about a complete failure of governance and management at UCC.

offsite link Deliberate Design Flaw In ChatGPT-5 Sun Aug 17, 2025 08:04 | Mind Agent
Socratic Dialog Between ChatGPT-5 and Mind Agent Reveals Fatal and Deliberate 'Design by Construction' Flaw
This design flaw in ChatGPT-5's default epistemic mode subverts what the much touted ChatGPT-5 can do... so long as the flaw is not tickled, any usage should be fine---The epistemological question is: how would anyone in the public, includes you reading this (since no one is all knowing), in an unfamiliar domain know whether or not the flaw has been tickled when seeking information or understanding of a domain without prior knowledge of that domain???!

This analysis is a pretty unique and significant contribution to the space of empirical evaluation of LLMs that exist in AI public world... at least thus far, as far as I am aware! For what it's worth--as if anyone in the ChatGPT universe cares as they pile up on using the "PhD level scholar in your pocket".

According to GPT-5, and according to my tests, this flaw exists in all LLMs... What is revealing is the deduction GPT-5 made: Why ?design choice? starts looking like ?deliberate flaw?.

People are paying $200 a month to not just ChatGPT, but all major LLMs have similar Pro pricing! I bet they, like the normal user of free ChatGPT, stay in LLM's default mode where the flaw manifests itself. As it did in this evaluation.

Evaluating Semantic Reasoning Capability of AI Chatbot on Ontologically Deep Abstract (bias neutral) Thought
I have been evaluating AI Chatbot agents for their epistemic limits over the past two months, and have tested all major AI Agents, ChatGPT, Grok, Claude, Perplexity, and DeepSeek, for their epistemic limits and their negative impact as information gate-keepers.... Today I decided to test for how AI could be the boon for humanity in other positive areas, such as in completely abstract realms, such as metaphysical thought. Meaning, I wanted to test the LLMs for Positives beyond what most researchers benchmark these for, or have expressed in the approx. 2500 Turing tests in Humanity?s Last Exam.. And I chose as my first candidate, Google DeepMind's Gemini as I had not evaluated it before on anything.

offsite link Israeli Human Rights Group B'Tselem finally Admits It is Genocide releasing Our Genocide report Fri Aug 01, 2025 23:54 | 1 of indy
We have all known it for over 2 years that it is a genocide in Gaza
Israeli human rights group B'Tselem has finally admitted what everyone else outside Israel has known for two years is that the Israeli state is carrying out a genocide in Gaza

Western governments like the USA are complicit in it as they have been supplying the huge bombs and missiles used by Israel and dropped on innocent civilians in Gaza. One phone call from the USA regime could have ended it at any point. However many other countries are complicity with their tacit approval and neighboring Arab countries have been pretty spinless too in their support

With the release of this report titled: Our Genocide -there is a good chance this will make it okay for more people within Israel itself to speak out and do something about it despite the fact that many there are actually in support of the Gaza

THIS STORY IS UNVERIFIED BUT PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEO OR READ THE TRANSCRIPT AS IT GIVES AN VERY GOOD IDEA OF WHAT A CASHLESS SOCIETY WILL LOOK LIKE. And it ain't pretty

A single video report has come out of China claiming China's biggest cities are now cashless, not by choice, but by force. The report goes on to claim ATMs have gone dark, vaults are being emptied. And overnight (July 20 into 21), the digital yuan is the only currency allowed.

Cork anti-war activists before the courts yesterday

category cork | anti-war / imperialism | news report author Tuesday July 15, 2003 21:26author by Cork Anti-War Campaignauthor email corkantiwar at hotmail dot com Report this post to the editors

Two members of the Cork Anti-War Campaign were up before Cork District Court yesterday in relation to a collection on an anti-war demonstration in the city on 22nd March.

At that demonstration, attended by more than 4,000 people, Gardai seized E1,054 which had been collected from among those protesting. It was generally felt at the time that this was in revenge for that morning's occupation by anti-war activists of Fianna Fail headquarters in the city. During the occupation Minister Michael Martin's office was invaded and, following a heated verbal exchange, he abandoned the building. Another factor leading to the seizure of funds may have been the spontaneous march held two days before, which ended in a mass sit-down covering Patrick's Bridge, the main bridge in the city. This demonstration (on 20th March - Day X) arose from a 4-500 strong vigil on Daunt Square at 6pm. As the protesters moved off the square and began marching up Patrick Street, the Garda in charge engaged in a heated exchange with Fintan Lane of CAWC, informing him that CAWC would "never be allowed to march in Cork again". In fact, anti-war protesters returned to the streets two days later in their thousands and, following a march through the city centre, staged a mass sit-down that covered and blocked off the entire length of Patrick Street for more than 20 minutes. The march then moved up to Daunt Square where protesters similarly blocked the road as a rally proceeded. It was during this march that the money was seized.

The outcome of yesterday's court case was welcomed as a victory by local anti-war activists. The judge effectively dismissed the charges (no convictions and no fines) and he agreed to the CAWC request that the money be donated to UNICEF Ireland. This brings the total donated by CAWC to UNICEF Ireland in the past few months to more than E3,500.

Following the outcome of yesterday's case, it is unlikely that the Gardai will proceed against others whose names were taken on the day. The original action was clearly driven by sheer bad-mindedness.

more power to ye.

By the way, if there's any of ye in touch with Jarlath or any other heads covered by Aer Rianta's Feb High Court injunction, there's good news, get in touch.

Don't disagree with Seainin. Don't have much respect for 'law and order' - and why the fuck should we if they spend their time robbing our money?

The names of those charged have already been published in the local press, there's nought to be ashamed of, so...what's your's problem, or are you just some low-level shit stirrer?

Its not a greast idea to publish peoples names without asking them first.

For such a self righteous, hard working tax payer as you claim to be you seem to be spending an awful lot of time reading indymedia and thinking of 'caustic' comments to show how clever you are. Does your boss know what his model employee spends his time at. Careful Seanín boyo don't want to risk that promotion do you, Mammy won't be happy.
Or are you the thick son who had to join the Civil Service, how are Paudín the Cop and Thomasín the priest doing, do they still give you a wedgie at the back of the cow shed every christmas.

It shows that attitude you people have towards law and order. Everyone needs permission to hold a collection but you lot, oh, since you're oh special that you can see thru the apparatus of the state, it makes you above the law.

My contempt for you 'activists' is burning. Especially when I see the photos of all you wispy bearded fuckwits.

But I mean it, why do you have to be so annoying, when you look back on yourselves in 10-15 years time you're going to be dying of embarassment.

What a racket.

They were charged with holding a collection without a permit. A legal head told us that the sergeant responsible is known as a member of the local 'God squad' - so-called because of their right-wing views.

Anybody else hear of a God-squad in Cork, or is this an urban myth?

Well done and congrats on the verdict. Could someone in Cork give us the names of those good people who put themselves in the line of danger when they were so badly needed. They all deserve to be remembered with thanks

What were the CAWC people charged with? I was on that march and it was well marshalled, amazingly well supported (for Cork) and good humoured. Are you allowed to name the Garda who did the dirty? Maybe others have had similar bad experiences? Also, who was the wise judge?
