Why Hillary Clinton Is In Favor Of DynCorp
The above title does not mean I understand her reasons for supporting DynCorp. In fact, it could just as easily be reworded to reflect a question I myself have regarding the strange reluctance of the State Department to act regarding a corporation that has participated in some of the most deplorable acts a corporation could – and we are talking big wealthy corporations here. Except, they do obviously favor the company in question, and support them. As one of the top three US defense contractors receiving money from the US government, DynCorp, has sunk to depths lower than drug dealers, slave traders, rapists or child abusers as they have done them all and more.
Contractors, including DynCorp, have been breaking all kinds of ethical codes and criminal ones for some time. It's fair to say all the big contractors have had issues such as when Blackwater employees videotaped themselves helicoptering and Humveeing around Iraq shooting civilians for target practice and loving it like a McDonald's commercial. (http://harpers.org/archive/2012/04/hbc-90008515) Private contractors have been behind many incidents regarding criminal behavior towards people that were being interrogated by government contractors.
For instance, in 2006 “a CIA contractor beat an Afghan prisoner so badly he pleaded to be shot to end his pain, prosecutors said [...] at the start of a trial that raises questions about the treatment of detainees by U.S. Interrogators.
“David Passaro, a former Special Forces medic who worked under contract with the CIA, is the first civilian to be charged with abusing a detainee in the U.S. wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
“Passaro beat Abdul Wali for 'two solid nights,' leading him to plead with prison guards to shoot him to end his suffering, prosecutor Michael Sullivan said in an opening statement. Wali died of his injuries.
"'At one point he (Passaro) lined up on Wali as though he was going to kick in a football game and kicked him full in the groin. Abdul Wali was lifted into the air,' said Sullivan.
Among other injuries, Wali suffered a suspected fractured pelvis that would have made it impossible for him to urinate, he said.'” (http://www.capitolhillblue.com/node/652)
In terms of DynCorp, they have been involved in four known cases of sex trafficking and three of them involving minors. The first was in Bosnia where two whistleblowers helped uncover numerous incidents involving adult men that were employees of DynCorp routinely paying to rape and molest young girls as young as twelve years of age. They would brag about them while on duty working on the repair of American aircraft. They would take them as dates (yes, girls as young as twelve) to company functions and not a single eyebrow would be raised. They would bring them to dinner at each other's houses. (http://dir.salon.com/story/news/feature/2002/06/26/bosn....html)
Then “in October 2004 it was revealed that DynCorp contract workers operating at Tolemaida Air Base in Colombia distributed a video in which they could be observed sexually violating underage girls from the town of Melgar. This video was even sold on the main streets of Bogotá. Nonetheless, the Lawyers' Collective of Colombia has not learned of any criminal investigation undertaken in relation to these acts involving minors. According to follow-up work carried out by the Lawyers' Collective it was discovered that one of the minors involved in the videos committed suicide some time after the publication of them.” (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/david-isenberg/its-dj-vu-...all_b...)
After that, “A contractor died when a DynCorp manager used an employee's armored car to transport prostitutes, according to Barry Halley, a Worldwide Network Services employee working under a DynCorp subcontract.
“DynCorp's site manager was involved in bringing prostitutes into hotels operated by DynCorp. A co-worker unrelated to the ring was killed when he was traveling in an unsecure car and shot performing a high-risk mission. 'I believe that my co-worker could have survived if he had been riding in an armored car. At the time, the armored car that he would otherwise have been riding in was being used by the contractor's manager to transport prostitutes from Kuwait to Baghdad.'” (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/04/29/us-military-co...n_991...)
Then in 2009 it came to light, “DynCorp employees in Afghanistan hired a teenage boy to perform a tribal dance at a company farewell party and videotaped the event. […] the company also had investigated the incident involving the youth, who he said was 17 when he performed a tribal dance at the party.
“At least two videos were shot of the dancing at the farewell party in April at a DynCorp base in Kunduz, in northeastern Afghanistan, according to DynCorp employees who have seen copies. One version, according to several who have seen it, showed some 15 DynCorp personnel egging on the dancer, who came from a nearby village and was dressed in jeans and a T-shirt, with a long scarf tied around his waist, as he moved around a DynCorp employee sitting on a single chair in a courtyard.
"'The whole event, hiring an Afghan dancer to perform for a non-Afghan audience, we felt could be seen as culturally insensitive and an example of poor judgment,' Ebner said.” (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/20...00907...)
Videotaped evidence, government inquiries, admissions by the company, eyewitness accounts including employees of DynCorp, and more. The support for child molestation seems to know no end as on Jun 13, 2011 DynCorp put out a press release happily announcing, “DynCorp International (DI) today announced that it has been selected by the U.S. Department of State (DoS) Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) as one of five providers on the Criminal Justice Program Support (CJPS) contract.
“Awarded on May 10, 2011, the multiple-award, indefinite delivery / indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract has one base year with four option years and a total value of $10 billion across all providers. DI will compete with the four other providers for task orders to support criminal justice sector development programs worldwide, providing advisors, other specialists, and life and mission support services.
“'Supporting the development of law enforcement and criminal justice programs around the world is one of our core competencies and we bring decades of experience to these programs,' said DI president Steve Schorer. 'We are honored to have the opportunity to compete for task orders under this contract and look forward to supporting this important program.'” (http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/06/13/idUS171785+13...20110...)
So these rapists, drug dealers, slave traders, pimps, molesters and more are the guys Secretary of State Hillary Clinton wants teaching people about criminal justice and law enforcement as a reflection of how we do things stateside? Are we training cops around the world in how to be crooked on the US dime now? We paid for everything that went on in the above incidents. We literally funded those things. But, her office wants to give them more? The buck at the State Department stops with her, and as a human, a mother a potential grandmother, for her to allow these things to go on under her watch is, for me, unnerving, both as an American and a person that cares.
This company has a culture of human trafficking and child sex abuse, and she not only continues their contracts, but allows them to compete for contracts that would have them serve as ambassadors for the values and morals as reflected by our own nation cross the globe. Why would she do that? Why would that happen? Is the price of freedom now molesting children according to her office? Why? Does she talk tough but in action is afraid to choose a side? She can't possibly be that typical a Democrat. I've been an independent from the time I registered to vote, nonetheless I've always admired her. Hopefully she does better before 2016 as that kind of record doesn't do well for a potential presidential candidate.
