Jump To Comment: 1 2 3 4Prime time episode with Mr Gilmore ranting and raving in a very one sided manner about the Assad government prior to visiting Ban KI Moon at the UN has gone down the RTE memory hole. This is one of the problems with copyright, DRM and corporate controlled media.
However even this RTE report gives the general idea:
http://www.rte.ie/news/2012/0929/syria-un.html
"Mr Gilmore said yesterday that Ireland supports tougher sanctions against the regime in Syria."
"Mr Gilmore told the assembled diplomats and world leaders that Ireland also supported the involvement of the International Criminal Court in The Hague in bringing perpetrators of crimes to justice."
(presumably he'll now campaign vigorously for the "rebels" to go to the hague (yeah right!!) )
He said: "The Syrian regime deploys every instrument to turn the legitimate struggle of the Syrian people into a sectarian war, which will engulf the entire region into flames.
"Our inability to act becomes a tool in the hands of despots and destructive regimes to demolish the cities, towns and villages, massacre civilians and make a mockery of the civilised world and the United Nations."
As well as pushing for stronger sanctions (which hit mainly poor civilians) the Taniste then pushed for "chapter VII" resolution.
Those of you familiar with Libya will know how that one ends. With a pile of rubble, destroyed infrastructure, an islamic government that plays ball with US / Saudi interests, bands of militants armed to the teeth roaming the country killing people.
What a complete sociopathic wanker! Continuing the fine servile tradition of Dermot Ahern, taking his orders from the US Embassy. He might as well just work out of an office there!. Labour party my ass. No doubt he'll also support a pointless attack on Iran if his lords and masters tell him to. I believe he already supports the ridiculous crippling sanctions already imposed on the innocent citizenry or that country at the behest of the paranoid nutjob warhawks in Israel and their patrons in the US
Watch the video Tanaiste / RTE execs. This is the reality of what you are supporting. It's not a game.
Indeed, it is sickening to hear whited sepulchers like Gilmore condemning "terrorism" in the occupied six counties of Ireland, while openly supporting the murder of innocent men, women and children in Libya and Syria. It would not be an exaggeration to say that Gilmore and the rest of his cowardly regime have actually facilitated terrorism in Libya and Syria, by refusing to prosecute self confessed Jihadi terrorists with Irish passports, such as Madhi al-Harati and his cousin Husam Najjair. Najjair was back in Ireland during the summer, boasting to RTÉ about his terrorist atrocities, but, far from being arrested, he was treated as a hero.
Syrian rebels have killed a female Kurdish militia leader, in the restive city of Aleppo, AFP reports. The killing of Shaha Ali Abdu stresses growing tensions between rebel fighters and the Kurds in the north of the country. "Shaha Ali Abdu, also known as Nujeen Dirik, was killed early on Friday. She headed a Kurdish popular defense unit that is part of the Democratic Union Party (PYD)," said the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. PYD is Syria's branch of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). "She was killed a week after she was captured by rebels," the monitoring group added.
And, that filthy rat, Hilary Clinton dared to condemn the execution of a member of the British occupation forces in Ireland - while she arms and funds terrorist gangs in Libya and Syria? She is pure dirt.
