Fight for your rights - because no one else will... Saturday 26th at 12pm the Dublin Council of Trade Union are calling on genuine activists to march for real fairness and justice in this year's budget. For more information on the protest structure on the day please contact: Email: dctuforum@gmail.com 26th November year 2011 Budget Protest - Why is this Trade Union Protest Different? This protest is being organised by the Dublin City Council of Trade Unions, individual unions, community groups and the Left who have vehemently opposed the cuts since the recession began. Something needs to be done before the next round of budget cuts which will affect our families, our friends, our co-workers and our communities. Cuts will be introduced through increasing stealth taxes, brutal social welfare cuts and a vicious and swinging axe against essential public services in our local communities. This protest will not be swarmed with overpaid trade union officials on the platform but front line and ordinary rank-and-file speakers prepared to make a difference, the ordinary workers who have been affected by the cuts over the past few years and who have shown real leadership over the years against the cuts. We all know that over 700 million euros has been handed over recently without questioning, without an audit and without clarification from the purse strings of all irish taxpayers to anonymous bondholders (i.e. gamblers) to the privately-owned Anglo-Irish bank. The cost of this sacrifice from the Irish will make a horrendous impact on ordinary people in the next few months and, more importantly, in the next few years to our homes and communities. You can make a difference - you will make a difference by standing with your union, your community, with the DCTU and their aflliliates and with all Irish citizens on November 26th by fighing against unfairness and injustice to the most vulnerable in Irish society. Fight the cuts and march on the streets of Dublin on Nov 26th.
