Collection and leafleting of the pubs around Croke Park before the match on Saturday. Meet in front of the Ulster Bank opposite the Big Tree pub on the corner of Dorset Street and the North Circular Road. Collecting tins and leaflets will be provided on the day. Spanish police are investigating two faxes written in arabic signed on behalf of Al Qaeda which threaten an imminent attack on the Vatican. There has been one arrest. The lengthy faxes warned of that the Vatican would be attacked for playing its part in the war on Iraq and Afghanistan and supporting Hitler. Geoffrey Dawson Lane, Baron Lane AFC QC PC (July 17, 1918 – August 22, 2005) a former British Lord Chief Justice of England & Wales who presided over the Birmingham 6 appeal trial has died today at the age of 87. He will be remembered for many reasons. * he followed Lord Widgery. * he had "strong views" on murder, rape and sexual morality. * he played a part in both Birmingham 6 and Guildford 4 trials, which saw 10 people serve lengthy sentances for IRA attacks did they not commit. read full story / add a comment

Saturday, 03.09.05 The Tara SOS week programme of protests will be launched with a 1 hour protest commencing 10am at Dublin Castle on Saturday 03.09.05. This protest will coincide with the Themed tour and readings titled 'The Irish Revolution (1913-23' in Dublin Castle. Later in the day at 1.30pm (September 3rd) a later protest will also be held at the same venue to coincide with the O'Carolan harp recital in Dublin Castle at 1.30 in the afternoon New Placards, and leaflets covering Tara's history, lore and heroes will be launched.
