IPSC Palestine Film Festival - Three films and shorts

PALESTINE FILM FESTIVAL: From 12.30pm on Sunday 6th March there will be a full day Palestine film festival taking place in the Pearse Centre located at 27 Pearse Street, Dublin 2.

Aside from the three main films, there will also be screenings of thewinners of the ItIsApartheid.org short film contest, and Haitham Khatib’s short Life On Wheels (@4.40pm) about Jody McIntyre and Bil’in.

12.30pm: Avenge But One Of My Two Eyes (2005, Avi Mograbi). A controversial documentary drawing parallels between the Israeli-Palestinian situation and the enduring myths of Samson and Masada. A powerful, at times chilling, lament of the continuing violence - eloquent and vital. More info here: http://www.secondrundvd.com/release_avenge.php

2.40pm: American Radical - The Trials of Norman Finkelstein (2009, David Ridgen & Nicolas Rossier). Probing and intimate film about controversial US academic Norman Finkelstein, the son of holocaust survivors, ardent critic of Israel, and author of five landmark books. 5.30pm: Private (2005, Saverio Costanzo). Oscar-nominated Feature film in which a group of Israeli soldiers take possession of a house owned by a Palestinian family. The owner is a pacifist named Mohammed who refuses to leave his home. More info here: http://www.palestineonlinestore.com/films/private.htm

Entry is €5 per film, or €12 for a full day ticket.

This event is organised by the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) as one of a series of events taking place around Ireland during international Israeli Apartheid Week 2011 (6 – 12 March).
