Boycott call

Following the success of the march in Waterford on Monday 31st of May, Waterford IPSC decided to call a meeting / Demo on Saturday 5th of June
One purpose among others was to call for the total boycott of Israeli products being sold in Waterford City and County.

The event on Saturday 5th of June was jointly hosted by Waterford IPSC and Waterford Council of Trade Unions.
Waterford IPSC, would like to thank the following for speaking on the day and for their on -going support on the issue of Palestine / Gaza.

Speakers on the day were : Lord Mayor of Waterford John Halligan (Independent), Tommy Hogan, President of Waterford Council of Trade Unions, , Cllr: Seamus Ryan of Labour, Cllr: David Cullinane of Sinn Fein , Cllr: Davey Walshe of the Workers Party and Seamus O’Brien of People before profit..

On the day all present commended the call by Waterford IPSC, to boycott Israeli goods being sold in outlets in Waterford City and County. The lord Mayor proposed that Waterford Council will be approached to ask congress to Boycott Israeli goods officially in Waterford and asked all present to join him in asking congress to call for the Israeli Ambassador to be expelled from Ireland.

Anrai Carroll, of the youth group within Waterford IPSC was on hand to invite Waterford children / Youth to send messages to those on the M.V. Rachel Corrie on a temporary message board, Anrai who attends Waterford Educate Together also helped manage the Wall of messages to the children / Youth of Gaza.

It was a lovely day in Waterford City and it was estimated that up to 150 people attended along with over 30 children (little people), it has been remarked on by local press and radio as having a great Family day feel to it
