Luckiest Man in Ireland?

category national | environment | news report author Monday December 22, 2008 02:00author by duine gorm Report this post to the editors

34,000 enter lottery- he wins every year

Without much public comment a strange phenomena is taking place in our midst- a rare and unusual scenario involving the leader of the nation's eco warriors and a megalithic passage grave.
up early- Gormley at Newgrange
up early- Gormley at Newgrange

In the early hours of the morning of December 21st every year a handful of people gather in the interior of the passage grave at Bru Na Boinne in county Meath to witness the early morning sun rays illuminating the back wall of the ancient structure, through a gap in the lintel specially constructed by our remote ancestors (or an archeologist in the 70's -depends who you talk to).

The passage is only big enough for twenty people to be present each year, so competition for a chance to witness this event is very fierce. This year, over 34,000 people entered the lottery for places.

However, remarkably, the same man found himself amongst the lucky few for the second year running. John Gormley was present on the solstice in 2007, and this year too saw the Minister among those selected to witness the sun rise at New Grange.

Weird huh? Chances of that happening to anyone else? Pretty remote.

But Minister Gormley is a strange man. He sees nothing odd about this incredibly lucky break, and sees no contradiction at all in partaking of celebrations of the ancient heritage of our island, while overseeing the destruction of that same heritage at other sites in Meath.

Some things us mere mortals just can't understand.

Members of the public gathered to celebrate the dawn of the solstice at New Grange, who hadn't been lucky enough to secure a place inside the monument, barracked the minister as he entered the site yesterday morning. They should really have been asking him for his lottery numbers, since he must be the luckiest man in Ireland.

Unless he is just writing his name at the top of the list every year (and thereby denying someone else a place) just because he is the Minister?

No, the Green Party would never behave that way.

I was going to say I was shocked but, no I'm not surprised at all! Maybe we should all send him an e-mail asking him, 'how did you manage to win the lotto two years in a row?' It scandalous, I entered the lotto, maybe that was my place he got!

All Minister O'Gormless has to do is stand on the same principles that got him elected- nothing else whatsoever.
Very simple.
He dosent need any power-supernatural or otherwise- just do what he said he would do if he got elected. He hasnt so he is a liar. A deceptive liar.

He now adopts the un democratic, un-accountable 'programme for government' which is fianna fails programme to take from the weakest, poorest, most needy and vunerable, and give it to the wealthy and through Government policy like the NRA structure, or the HSE they can 'invest in all our futures' as all the other so called 'leftie groups' clammour at the back door of Dail Eireann to ingraciate themselves to this same policy.

Gormley got run off Rath Lugh last summer under advice of his 'security'. Later he said he was happy that rath Lugh haddnt been touched and would be preserved for the record-(pictures taken). Rath Lugh had been damaged irrevocably up to that point with 'Squeakey' hiding in an under ground tunnel handcuffed, to prevent further damage. Days later, after Gormleys visit, police, thugs, security, and other spooks from the govt or ferrovial, removed the camp and erected pallisade fencing.
- next day.....Rath Lugh suffered its demise.
Machines severed the mound/ hill in two, destroying everything in its path. Souterraines, monuments, ancient woodlands, Embankments, ramparts, ancient structures of all description were destroyed in a matter of time, made all the more insignificant, by the antiquity which was destroyed forever,

Merry Christmas Mr.Gormley.... Minister for Destruction of Culture and Herritage.

Maybe Gormley and his greenies are so desperate to solve surmounting economic and political credibility problems these days. Maybe he was trying to harness some monumental new age magic at Newgrange to turn the fortunes of the country and the sliding government around. He might believe in magical ley lines too.
