offsite link Super Flu? More Like Super Hype Sun Dec 14, 2025 13:05 | Dr David Livermore
Present case numbers for the ?K? variant Super-Flu don't justify the hype, says Dr David Livermore. Perhaps it's the media lust for fear porn, or perhaps the Government's fear of the strike, but it's not a Super-crisis.

Palestine’s Child will hold a fundraising event – A Night at the Races in the Roddy McCorley Club on Friday 25th April.

Palestine’s Child is a locally run charity, that raises money to support the work of non government organisations working with children and young people on the ground in Palestine. In particular we help children caught up in the frontline of violence and military occupation.

The charity was created by a group of people in west Belfast, who were concerned about the effects of violence, displacement and trauma amongst Palestinian children.

All the money raised goes directly to community based groups in Palestine, such as the Balata Refugee Camps “A’edoon Theatre Dance Troupe” made up entirely of young people who use the medium of art to express their experiences thoughts and feelings of everyday life in the Occupied Territories of Palestine.

In May, 3 local women will visit Palestine, self funded and in their own time, to bolster relationships with grassroots organisations who work tirelessly with children and young people caught up in the conflict. It will also be an opportunity to see that the money you donate is really making a difference to children’s lives in Palestine.

Please come along to the event in The Roddys, have a flutter knowing that your money can make the difference between despair and hope in a young persons life, or even the difference between life and death.

Tickets are priced £5 and are available from The Roddys, Coiste or The falls Women’s Centre, alternatively come along on the night and pay at the door.

To buy a horse, please contact Nuala McGurk via e-mail to Nuala.mcgurk@hotmail.com. Horses are £10 each and you can name the horse yourself. There are only a few left so be quick to avoid disappointment!!

The race kicks off at 8pm sharp and will be followed by a disco.

Bigi Linn!!!
