Jump To Comment: 1Today I heard some Bishop on the news talking about how the youth of Ireland need to turn away from drink, drugs and violence. But he never mentioned that when the average youth is so excluded from real participation in the economy then, naturally, he is going to chanel his energies elsewhere. In general the churches are not bad at pointing out the economic injustice in Ireland - but they never take their words to their logical conclusion. Its not really about getting the gombeens to give a little bit back to the people, its about the people taking power in their own hands. The churches are afraid of that, and we see above, so are the gombeen men on Limerick county council.
