What is a purpleman?

The strapping into a chair is something you should try , you sound a bit uptight.

I really would like to know what a purpleman is and then I will explain to you the exact visual I got in my head when I skimmed the article.

Is the order graded, or is just Orange and purple?
this could be interpreted many significant ways including the splitting of light via spectrum or are you just feeling kinky?

In certain belief systems - orange would corespond to the sacral
or sexual chakra and purple to the third eye, or visionary. often used in trance in relation to some mysticisms. are you implying that secratariuanism is indeed more colourful than it appears or that it is another bastardisation of unlimited truth that has been hi-jacked by a quasi-mythological interpreation for conviencesake?

It's madness not only that they get away with this, but they can claim, with a straight face that it's secterian to be against it. I was reading in the paper the other day, some DUP members were complaining of the "fascist" republicans, who had taken down flags, and other such vicious attacks on the protestant community. Now, maybe I'm just misguided, but I fail to see how someone taking down a UDA flag in nationalist area is anything like the actions of a Mr. Mussolini.

Why don't they just let the INLA march down loyalist streets too, then everyone's happy?

There is a website run by Protestant evangelicals who condemn the OO as, guess what, unbiblical (I kid you not). The author is an ex member of the brethren who, having seen a different light, exposes the secret bits and pieces the upright and dour spokespeople (or rather spokesmen - would women go in for this level of kinkiness?) for the OO try to keep a lid on.

When confronted with this evidence the OO say it is all untrue, but when then asked what does actually transpire, they reply, “that’s a secret”. Hoist by their own petard I would say.

Here is a taster

Before being initiated, the Royal Arch Purple candidate must answer a number of questions.

Is this the first time you have stood within the precincts of a Royal Arch Purple Chapter?

Have you received the Purple Order of the Loyal Orange Institution?

Do you now wish to receive the Royal Arch purple Degree?

Other questions are asked, although the nature of such depends totally upon the individual examiner. Common questions asked are:-

Does anyone know you are coming to this meeting?

Has anyone told you anything about this initiation?

The candidate is then informed, "Before we can impart to you any of the secrets or mysteries of the Royal Arch Purple Degree you will be required to take upon yourself a solemn, sincere, binding, yet entirely voluntary obligation, binding you to us, as we are bound to one another as Royal Arch Purplemen."

Upon my assurance there is nothing in that obligation that may prove detrimental to you in life, or hinder you in the duty you owe to God, your country, or yourself, are you therefore willing to take upon yourself that voluntary obligation?

Upon his positive affirmation the candidate is instructed, "Kneel upon your right knee in token of your humility; place your right hand on the Holy Bible in token of your sincerity.

The solemn obligation begins:

"I ------- ------------ do most voluntarily, solemnly and sincerely declare that I will never reveal unlawfully, but will ever conceal, the proceedings of my brother Royal Arch Purple men in Chapter assembled, nor will I disclose any matter or thing therein communicated to me, unless to a brother Royal Arch Purple man, well knowing him to be such, or until I have been duly authorised so to do by the proper and legal authorities, they holding a Warrant for that purpose under the Grand Royal Arch Purple Chapter of Ireland, or any other authority, the same having legally transferred into their hands, nor shall I be present at the initiation or raising of Purplemen to the Royal Arch Purple Degree, unless in a duly authorised Chapter room, and then only in the presence of at least seven members in good standing; nor will I confer this degree, or permit it to be conferred on any candidate, for a less sum than that authorised by the Grand Royal Arch Purple Chapter of Ireland, namely, Seven shillings and sixpence, which I sum have paid - £2.00.

I will to the utmost of my power support and maintain the Protestant religion, and glorious Constitution of 1688, against all foes, foreign and domestic; I will aid and assist all true and faithful Royal Arch Purplemen in all just and lawful actions, and I will not wrong, nor see any of them wronged or defrauded, if in my power to prevent it.

What a hell of a way to go; to dress up in silly hats and sashes singing silly tunes with dumb lyrics marching through peoples neighbourhoods to show your ignorance all in the name of hatred and bigotry, and to boot call it a Christian outfit. Why all the embarrassing antiquated pomp and utter rubbish? These jokers should just take a moment out to realise that we the world’s peoples Catholic and Protestant, etc, etc can see their blatant FEAR. Surely if they act human and grown up they can just stop the silly absurd marching garbage and just plainly state that they support government oppression and the police state of N Ireland that has been treating fellow human beings like crap for decades and they have supported this because they have been appeased and kept quiet with better living and work conditions from the Brit N Ireland government, the scraps from the table of the protestant gentry and corporate businessmen.

So because a few of them feel so disgusted with themselves for their forefather’s behaviour they themselves carry it on. They know it’s always been wrong, but they can’t see a way out of it except to carry on in blind acceptance of the norm. Terrified to lose their special status of being allowed to live humanly by supporting the oppression of others the only option they have is to go on in their denial and ignorance to the bitter end, or put their hands up and say "we have all been wrong we know, but now we will admit it."

Orange, purple, red, white, yellow, who gives a s…t If these jokers faced the truth of what they were actually taken part in, they would cringe with embarrassing disgust! A British general (Freeland) once quoted after watching an orange march “Boy’s with toys” (and he was on the same side) and he was right indeed.

It's bad enough that there is Orange people marching about the place, but now we hear of purple people as well, where did the purple people come from and what ails them? Are there other colours of people too, this is all getting too confusing. Does anyone know what the colour purple signifies to these people and what are they on about?

There were round heads and cavaliers. which always reminded me of sex- for some reason. (so Long ago-)

The Royal Arch Purple Chapter of Ireland is a seperate Institution from the Orange order, it has a seperate grand lodge and seperate grand officers. It is a Christian Organisation and all dues which members pay enter entirely into the RAPC benevolent fund which provides money for educational supplies (the only charity in Ireland that does so) and also provides money to widows and orphans of the RAPC. The colour Purple is chosen because it was the colour that was used in the Tabernacle and in the Temple of Solomon as recorded in the Bible.
