FAILED TO PUBLISH

The latest declaration about “dissident Republicans” from the Provisionals Cllr. McIvor (Irish News Wednesday 28th inst) seems to place all blame on the media
for even acknowledging their existence. Yet all shades of current Republicanism,
however fractionalised, have sprung from the same lions: the age old Irish Republican aspiration to a new and united Ireland asserted in revolutionary fervour on many occasions over the past 800 years.

The contribution of the Councillor is strange but typical of the double speak of his ilk – the side of the mouth corner boy carry on that has reduced Provisional Republicanism to its current surrendered and sold out state lying defeated under the British Crown!

He seems to forget that in their failed campaign the Provisionals also killed civilians – in fact the Provos killed more civilians than the British Army. But then this gun toting, peace loving politico seems to be confused when he also denounces the CIRA for not killing Brit forces! Has the Provo leadership approved this policy change? Do they now wish to see Brit forces killed? The answer must be a resounding NO because they have decommissioned the weapons secured for the freedom of Ireland – weapons belonging to the Irish people, acquired in the name of the Irish people and intended for use in the pursuit of Irish freedom.

The weapons needed to kill British forces have been handed over by the Provos to the British Crown – it is as simple as that – and no amount of corner boy talk by the likes of Councillor McIvor will disguise that fact!

Incidentally at the time of his strange outburst 40 Republican colleagues of the Councillor were on protest in Maghaberry prison struggling to gain political status – a status sold out by his leadership! Today in the eyes of the British Crown these Republicans are criminals and the Provisionals agree with this designation. Perhaps the brave Councillor disagrees with such a description, and if so, is he too a dissident Republican?

Yours etc
