Heres some t-shirts worth wearing. €5 will go to FARC or the PFLP for each one sold. Cue the attacks by outraged zionists, westbrits & dubyaphiles. A Danish fashion firm is to sell T-shirts inspired by rebel fighters, with proceeds to go to militant groups. |

jesus would you ever get over yourself? the first commentator was right, you do operate on simple good/bad dichotomies, it's not smart and its definitely not cool. murder is bad. murder by the state is bad. murder by paramilitaries is bad. murder might sometimes be necessary, but i dont think 'this impoverished farmer cant pay our tax' is really a valid reason. loony.
maybe you are a colombian citizen, if so you are likely a supporter of the govt death squads.
Long Live FARC!
Have a nice day.
I am not sure if I should be angry or feel pitty for the last comment:
First of all, FARC do not just charge "taxes". It is extorsion of most of the farmers in the areas they control. That's how the right wing paramilitary forces formed: To protect people on the countryside from the FARC. But as usual, illegal armed forces end up vicious of power and money. Nowadays they are equivalent to the FARC: Extorsion, drug dealing, and doing masacres to civileans.
If you do not pay the extorsion "tax" to the FARC, they kidnap you. If you have no money they kill you. Just like that. Like a friend of me who was kidnapped eight years ago and never came back. His wife is still waiting. like many others.
They do not only "tax" coca growers, they cover the whole supply chain. They are known as the richest terrorist group in the world, so they will laugh about your pennys.
Why is there no peace in Colombia? Because of the fact that drugs is just too good business to give it up for peace, and mony is power. As long as drugs are illegal and being consumed in the rich countries, you will always find people willing to take the risk, and they will always end up killing for business.
By the way, FARC never became a political Party, it was M-19. It was certainly not good what happened at that time. But which are the alternatives? Why should people who were hiding in the jungle for decades and killing people be better governors of a country? Do they really want that?
The last president, Cesar Gaviria proposed peace talks to the FARC and gave them even land of the size of Switzerland where they could stay without army control during the peace talks. Guess what? Farc not even agreed on a agenda after FOUR YEARS, and what they done was to run their kidnapping and drugs business from that area. They were just playing for time, and became much stronger during that time. Just see the kidnapping statistics!
Now they are planting Coca in natural parks, because they know that the goverment will have hard time to destroy those planations (which is usually being done with herbicides spread from planes).
War is never going to be clean, but the idea that FARC is running a purely idealistic and political war is a lie. It might have been like this in the 1960' , but that's a long time ago, and war not only kills people, it degenerates the warlords. It's only about power and money. Otherwise how do you explain that countries which are much poorer than Colombia , like Bolivia, Haiti, Brazil, India, etc., etc. do not have left-wing rebels?
Colombia is an amazingly rich country. Everything grows there, the only people suffering from hunger live in the cities: fleeing from the guerrilla war!
COMENTATOR, before you start doing such stupid things you should get better informed. South America is not Europe, and your naivity will cause great damage. Do you have an Idea how many thousands of civilians were kidnapped by the Farc? Do you know how many civilieans died due to their blood thirst? Do you justify this? For what?
where did i say any such thing?
anyway the FARC are not drug runners, they impose a revolutionary tax on cocoa growers in the egions they control, just as they do on other businesses. if you are looking for drugrunners then i suggest you look at the cia or officers attached to the us embassy. wasnt a colonel caught smuggling cocaine not so long ago,
as for the FARC bombings, i am not an uncritical supporter of FARC, certain actions they have carried out were wrong but the State & rightwing forces have carried out bombings which have been blamed on FARC.
Colombia is not a normal country. When the FARC declared a ceasefire they formed a political party, 3,000 members were masacred by State & Rightwing deathsquads.
You say "Heres some t-shirts worth wearing. €5 will go to FARC or the PFLP for each one sold. Cue the attacks by outraged zionists, westbrits & dubyaphiles."
I seem to remember Dubya saying ""Either you're with us or you're against us", accusing everyone who wasn't a Christian fundamentalist warmonger of being a Muslim fundamentalist terrorist.
Are saying that anyone who opposes the bombing and drug-running of the FARC is a 'Dubyaphile'? If so, you're closer to him than you think...
