Labour loves to remind voters how Liz Truss 'crashed the economy', but Rachel Reeves is making the exact same mistake. She's asking the markets to lend the Government vast sums and they're telling her where to get off.

Student Walkout on Friday

category national | rights, freedoms and repression | press release author Tuesday December 06, 2005 12:57author by The National Committee of School Walkouts - NCSWauthor email NCSW-Ireland at hotmail dot com Report this post to the editors

solidarity with ferry workers

The INTO says schools will remain open this Friday despite the national day of protest,
the ASTI suggest a half-day may be in order,
the students have something else to say..

We are tomorrows workforce. If job security and rights are to be made redundant by Irish Ferries we will not sit idly in our classrooms and leave this in the hands of the "grown-ups".
It is our future that is being sold-out, without jobs what use have we for school?

We call on all students with a sense of compassion, empathy and outrage at the current situation within Irish Ferries to walkout of school at 10am on Friday the 9th of December. We urge those who can to attend the rally in Dublin starting from Parnell Square at 1.30pm.

Protests across the country -

Galway 2 pm Cathedral Point
Rosslare 1.30 Assemble at the Harbour
Sligo 2 pm Blue Lagoon
Limerick 1PM Mechanics Institute
Athlone 2.30 PM Golden Island Shopping Centre
Waterford 1.15pm Waterford Industrial Estate
