Irish Frog Farm to close

Irish Frog Farm to close

Liberation
At the end of October the largest breeder of frogs in Europe for vivisection was visited by the ALF, with appropriate messages left behind. Their details were published not long afterwards. And now this beautiful bit of info...

ALF Ireland received information from Denis McCarthy of the Frog Farm,
Kells, Co. Meath that he has agreed to close down his business in April
2006, he has also agreed not to sell the business on.
As thousands of frogs are taken from the wild every month and tortured to death in vivisection labs around the world because of his activities we demand that Denis McCarthy end his business at the end of December 2005. Until he ceases trading and all of his equipment is given to animal
welfarists for rescue use he will remain a legitimate target.

ALF Ireland................till all are free

You "animal rights" people make me sick.
You have no respect for the rule of law or common decency. You are illegitimate, inarticulate violent bullies with no positive solutions to offer

you are aptly named. I'm glad to see that the ALF have left you hopping mad.

That man said two years ago that the was no longer raising frogs. He needs a licence to do so.

If you want details leave an email address.

By the way, the ALF seems to have a massive blind spot for the country's millions of farm animals. Vivisectionists make media-friendly, high-profile targets, but if you started targetting honest-to-goodness, bailer-twine-belted farmers you might have to deal with firearms instead of people who actually comply with animal-welfare laws.

Tell me, do you ALF people carry cards that state you do not want to recieve any life saving treatments/drugs that have been tested or developed on animals?

No diabetics amongst you for example?

EU plans to cut animal tests

Industry groups pledge to collaborate on refining, reducing, and replacing the use of lab animals

By Stephen Pincock

A leading animal rights organization in Europe has given a cautious thumbs-up to a pledge made by industry groups last week to help the European Union expedite the search for new alternatives to animal testing.

At a meeting in Brussels hosted by the European Commissioners for Enterprise and Research, Günter Verheugen and Janez Potočnik – along with groups representing the chemical, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, soap and detergents, animal health, and crop protection industries -- signed a joint declaration on the "3 Rs"-- refining, reducing and replacing the use of lab animals.

"We think it is a very promising initiative," said Marlou Heinen from the Eurogroup for Animal Welfare, an umbrella group for some 19 animal welfare organizations. "But we see it very much as a first step—whether it will be an actual success will very much depend on how this is going to be implemented."
