mexican news

As you know this summer the Zapatistas decided to form the "peaceful civic, nationalist, leftist and anti-capitalist" movement of Mexico and will participate in next years elections, and thus are preparing their federal tour in early 2006.

On the other side of Mexican politics, last wednesday the chief of Mexico's anti-narcotics police died along with many other high ranking officials in a helicopter crash. The incident was described by the govenment first as an accident but now speculation has grown that it was an attack.

Also in the last week, kidnapped football coach of the team Cruz Azul, argentine Rubén Omar Romano was released after an operation led by the mexican federal bureau of investigations. Both events signal to the main daily "La Jornada" at least that the era of President Fox is coming to its dramatic end. Oddly, for one side of the police have won great praise for the rescue, the other drawing suspicion which the new "drug czar" must deal with. The replacement appointments were made yesterday Rafael Rios is the new public security minister (his predecessor Martin Huerta)
Rios is undersecretary for citizen participation and criminal policy in the ministry. He spent most of his career in the National Security and Investigation Center, the government's intelligence institution. Tomas Valencia, the Federal Police Commander will be replaced by Arturo Jimenez. The National Human Rights Commission has not announced who is to replace Jose Antonio Bernal, inspector of the commission.
The helicopter was on route from Mexico City to the high-security prison of La Palma, in Mexico state.

Meanwhile, campesinos, students indiginous groups and social assembiles of CODECI are calling for the release of Pedro Castillo Aragón who has been imprisoned for 3 years and is a noted and important prisoner of conscience.

Its because she's worried that the embarassment the news items captions comments blogs articles phone calls text messages and general pitch of my cyber-material in the last 24 hours as I a perfectly unimportant migrant worker have attempted to tackle themes of historic and global importance : might cause some people to think "I is going dippy again or on drugs" and she'll be very embarassed.

But its like this, it all sort of comes together, if you know why -

yesterday was world anti-car day, & I'm an old rts! head and its special, and bershka (a israeli cross community anti-apartheid bunch of clown cyclists) got arrested on the freeway through the west bank, and dublin my hometown offically did utterly nothing, but will buy my private letters and put them on display some day. and she (the partner) was wearing a bershka t-shirt ( with the usual attention to detail i took it off and examined the label ). Golly gosh it was made in mexico. Thats where Marcos is from. but he's just a well known face in a mask. He's not the only zapatista. - "we are all zapatistas"
We know where the huricane Rita is, because we've talked on the telephone to the poorly paid but earnest about their science people we know who live at Boca Jesus y Maria lagoon on the east coast of Mexico. All they need to do is look at the animal and fish behaviour there to tell if the huricane (which bears the name of a serious heavy ex-relationship of mine) is. its easy, and very old fashioned, and then we use a compass and pencil and look at tv. "Oh" say we, its raining buckets in new orleans where l'estat lives and the levvies are gone. thats definitely a sign of your (my) ex going super cyclone weird. And I'm sort of taking an interest in the little texan towns because I have close relatives in the "all is relative" world in a suburb of the same name of Dublin. And because we know its not raining buckets in Mexico we guess where the storm is.- Cool isn't it? Its not raining in chiapas (where marcos and everyone else lives). We phoned them to check. They want you to look at their website:-
http://chiapas.indymedia.org
So the next huricane is going to be called Wilma, just like in the character from the Hanna Barba cartoon set in prehistoric times "flintstones", and they'll go into using greek letters as names for the first time in history.

I suggest to ye, that we start taking this shite seriously. The partner insists we don't forget the lack of playgrounds and health stuff and quality time checking out each others' clothing labels either. & I promise not to go mad, and neither will any of the zaptistas if supported in their new initiative to democratically and constitutionally take control of the whole world. We feel ok about this, because its our planet.

Ye can trust us.
if you know what they look like.
Don't vote for them.
BASTA

..wouldn't recognise the place, but some of the patterns might ring a bell. You may have noticed the explosion in gruesome murders in Mexico(50,000 since 2006 apparently)recently...
