BBC Moral Maze Waffle-Fest Fails to Address Objection That Net Zero Could Leave Billions Dead From S... Wed Sep 17, 2025 09:00 | Chris Morrison
In last week's Net Zero edition of the BBC's Moral Maze, the most basic objection to climate doomerism ? that Net Zero 2050 could leave billions dead of starvation ? was ignored, says Chris Morrison.

German state media have systematically slandered Charlie Kirk in the wake of his assassination, says Eugyppius. They portray him as an unhinged and dangerous fascist, just stopping short of blaming him for his own death.

That's true.
This very extensive project involved four photographers over five years documenting the anti-war/anti-capitalist movements in seven countries and is ongoing.
Most of the costs fell on the photographers, but the Irish Anti-War Movement paid for the frames. We don't expect your average Joe or Joanna soap to buy these photographs, although some have, but there are posters on sale. Or maybe you could make a donation to the movement?
Have you any comments on the photos or the war?
The address is 'Millenium walk' for those that dont know.
As nice as the photo's that I saw are, I dont know anyone who could afford to spend such an amount on them. I think you'd sell alot more if you found a way to lower the price. You can get a print from last mayday for under €10 at RedInk. (Look at my capital mind thinking go!)
"We don't expect your average Joe or Joanna soap to buy these photographs"
Fucking bourgeois art bullshit, someone ought to take a match to this bullshit collection.
Turning resistance into an image into cash, to put into the coffers of the so-called "IAWM".
Don't forget us autonomous all-sorts hawked some very "arty" pictures from the Mayday weekend to people within our movement to raise dosh for court cases. I presume when they say "we don't expect your average Joe or Joanna soap to buy these photographs" they mean that perhaps they'll be bought by people already very interested in the anti-war movement and with a sight more cash than broke bastards like us. If Joe or Joanna were interested in em, believe me I'd be out flogging print offs of photos from Indymedia on Henry St. Five RedJades for $20 or a fiver each love.....
The fact of the matter is Mr. Dead, the work over those years cost the photographers a lot of personal time and money, which I doubt if we will ever recover. It is an important and in time historical recording of the early part of this century of some of the left etc in Europe and beyond.
We are using the medium of photography as another way of getting the anti-war etc message across. I'm sure you've heard of the expression "every picture speaks a thousand words"?
We will update the photos and provide the latest information on the ongoin war wherever the exhibition is showing. Regarding the 'bourgeousie', well that's a first for me to be connected to the 'b' word. I suggest my learned friend that you read some stuff on the power of art and while your at it, check out what the Bolsheviks did with the art of Russia when they wreslted it from the enemy -they took it too the people where it belongs.
Art is a bit like golf - not meant just for the rich or well off!
We will see if we can make unframed prints available for those interested in buying -more work for mise! Let me know if you are.
Could you publish some thumbnails (with the permission of the photographers) here for those of us who don't live in Dublin. 160x160 pixels or so each would be great... Just something to give us an idea.
"check out what the Bolsheviks did with the art of Russia when they wreslted it from the enemy -they took it too the people where it belongs."
Well, by referencing the Bolsheviks you've really shown what sort of degenerate you are.
Whatever about those kids bringing it to the people, you can't say you're doing the same can you?
You're pushing art as a commodity, art as an abstract item to be hung on walls and observed, art as something "joe public" would be too busy to get involved in, art as a specialist subject that they probably wouldn't understand.
Your art is death.
Mr. Dead, you obviously haven't read properly what I said on my previous posts and you seem like a person that jumps to a lot of conclusions without the facts.
I made it a rule last year that I will not get into debates with individuals on this site who don't use their real name or seem irrational. You qualify on both counts.
All I will say is, war is death and art is empowerment.
Goodbye.
....what part of the country are you from? The exhibition will be going outside Dublin before christmas, hopefully to Cork or Clare. Then we hope to bring it back to Dublin some time next year with some images from Iraq included. Before that, we hope to get it into the US, that's with time and finance permitting.
We want to hold off for a while before putting the images on indymedia, partly because the exhibition is updated regularly and also because of time constraints.
There are over fifteen thousand images from over the years and those on view are just a small random selection.
If you send me your email address, I can send you some 'thumbnails'.
And what did he die of ?
Dont see what the problem is with a few photographers selling some of their photographs . IS mr Guydebord one of those mad frustaded artists you see in the films ? And why is the IAWM "so called" ? do they really support the war . Dunno about anyone else but I statrt to back away slowly when I hear someone still using the word "bourgeouis" in this day and age . Especially someone with a bee in their bonnet about art .
And who the feck was guy de boed and what did he die off ? was he stabbed for saying bourgeouis or trying to lecture the residents of Dolphins barn about art appreciation ?
who is guy debord? ..sake
Self-proclaimed leader of the Situationist International, Guy Debord was certainly responsible for the longevity and high profile of Situationist ideas, although the equation of the SI with Guy Debord would be misleading. Brilliant but autocratic, Debord helped both unify situationist praxis and destroy its expansion into areas not explicitly in line with his own ideas. His text The Society of the Spectacle remains today one of the great theoretical works on modern-day capital, cultural imperialism, and the role of mediation in social relationships.
After the dissolution of the Situationist International, Debord was tangentially implicated in the assassination of his friend and publisher Gérard Lebovici. The accusations infuriated Debord, and he consequently prohibited the showing of his films in France during his lifetime. Debord continued writing, and in 1989 he published his Commentaries on the Society of the Spectacle, arguing that everything he wrote in 1967 was still true, with one major exeception: the society of the spectacle had reached a new form, that of the integrated spectacle. The prospect of overturning the society of the spectacle seemed more unlikely than ever. In December of 1994, at the age of 62, Debord killed himself. The French press, who had always repudiated the significance of the Situationist International, suddenly made him a celebrity.
He sounds a bit bourgeouis if you ask me
...guydeboredead seems to be a member of Fianna Fail, check out the post on the events page for October. He/she put in a post for the Fianna Fail ard fheis, which should be a barrel of laughs. This person is nothing more than a time-wasting prankster and should be ignored. His/her comments are just meant to stir up anyone willing to take the bait. Whoever it is, just wants a cheap laugh at our expense.
I know Michael Gallagher and he's anything but bourgois - unless he's moved to Killiney from Sean Mc dermott street recently without me hearing about it. Good luck with your show Michael -I've lost your telephone number ,but we'll surely meet soon and I'll give you that tenner I still owe you.
Thanks Mick, and that tenner would come in handy right now. I know a few 'Micks' and not sure which one you are so your secrets safe with me. Just to prove how bourgois I am, I'm gonna charge you interest on the tenner!! Was it for the poster? My email is on this post if you wanna get in touch.
