Swathes of rainforest and coral reefs are being destroyed by a nickel mining boom in Indonesia sparked by the Net Zero race to transition away from fossil fuels. Is this supposed to be 'green'?

Journalists like Paul Mason who argue GB News is "far Right" and must be shut down have clearly never watched it, says Andrew Doyle. If they had they'd know that their idea bear zero relationship to the reality.

The emergence of global government is no conspiracy theory, says Dr David McGrogan. Those driving it cite global disasters, but in truth the greatest global disaster facing humanity is the emergence of world government.

The majority of people charged over last week's riots live locally to the violent demonstrations which they allegedly joined, analysis has found, contradicting Keir Starmer's claim they were coming from out of town.

The BBC is a hulking anachronism, says J. Sorel. The last of the great Departments of Information, a relic of an age of siege and conscription, sprawled across the national psyche like a huge rusting battleship.

This sounds like hype. Very non PC. But you're forgiven. I'll try to be there. And to answer a few ceists. It does sound good. Won't they all want to be out be the canal in weather like this? 'Cept the eggheads. Good cause as usual Krossie.

I like the Irish name. You should have some Irish on the website.

Tá an ceart agat. B'fhéidir gur ceart iarracht a dhéanamh leagan Gaeilge a cur ar an gréasán mar a dúirt tú. Is dócha go bhfuil comhphobal Gaeilge sa chathair, agus ba chóir dúinn úsáid a baint as - sa project sin agus maidir le projects eile freisin.

Agus ar indymedia freisin...

An bhfuil éinne eile ag léamh é sin leis an smaointe céanna?

author by William - Seomra Spraoipublication date Wed Jul 13, 2005 13:12author address author phone Report this post to the editors

Thursday's table quiz is scheduled for 8pm, with the first question likely to be read out around 8.30pm.

Regarding the Irish name:
- I heard a rumour that any team that answers all its questions through Irish will get their marks increased by 10 per cent, like in the Leaving Cert.
- Note the word spraoi means fun: the social centre will be about fun. Whuppee!

Regarding hype:
Ivan's comments are not hype, the social centre project is very exciting... if you knew about the myriad groups and individuals who are/want to be involved. A social centre for the people by the people. Oohh, I just don't know if the buzz of people on Thursday night excitedly talking about the potential of it won't be too much for my sensitive disposition.

Tagaim le Paul Byrnes.

Cén fath go mbíonn ainm Gaeilge ar rud nach Gaelach. Nach mbíonn sibh ag cur daoine amú?

author by Paul Baynespublication date Wed Jul 13, 2005 17:22author address author phone Report this post to the editors

Is dócha go bhfuil daoine le intinn acu chun tacaíocht a thabhairt chuig an teanga, ach níl an 'self confidence' acu chun caint as Gaeilge. B'fhéidir go ceapann daoine nach bhfuil an caighdeán acu. Ach fós, mothaigh siad go bhfuil nasc idir an teanga agus an cultúr, agus tá siad ag iarraidh an Gaeilge a coimead beo i slí beag.

Tá mé ag glacadh páirt i Seomra Spraoi, agus ceapaim go rud maith é chun ainm Gaeilge a cur ar an gluaiseacht.

Rud amháin eile -

I would suggest that people who want to become involved in Seomra Spraoi on the basis of adding an Irish language dimension to the project are likely to be very welcome.

Maith thú, a Phaul.

Seans go bhfuil an ceart agat ach is deacair gan sleamhnú san fhimínteacht isteach.

Bain taitneamh as an bhfiontar.

A Phaul,

Má raibh na comharthaí istigh ann dátheangach (chomh mór le chéile agus sa font céanna), is dócha go mheallfadh sé sin daoine le Gaeilge isteach.

Ádh mór

Tá a lán Gaeilgoiri sa chathair agus bíonn, mar shampla, na scolairí le Gaeilge, ann sásta chun dul go áiteanna le Gaeilge, go háirithe i rith an bhliain nuair atá siad ag freastal ar an ollscoil.

Ba mhaith liom tuilleadh Gaeilge a fheiceáil ar indymdia. Mar shampla, tá an ainm i nGaeilge agus i mBéarla ar barr, IMC- Ionad Cumursáid Saor, ach ba mhaith liom na logainmeacha a fhéiceáil i nGaeilge freisin- Baile Átha Cliath tríd go dtí Dún Dealgan.

Sheol mé ríomhphoist dóibh mhí ó shin ach níor tharla aon rud fós.

Moltaí an-mhaithe agaibhse.

Ní lúide fearg sa Ghaeilge agus fearg an Bhéarla.

Bígí ag gáir os ard
