Mortal Sin & Black Marks "the Pope & the Taoiseach"

the Pope Benedict XVI & Bertie Ahern the supreme little rascal.

the current Pope, Benedict XVI, the german shepherd,
papa ratzi, god's rottweiler met
Bartholomew Ahern today, (seperated) Taoiseach of Ireland,
supreme little rascal of Fianna Fail, heir to the DeValera regime of Eire, man who can't explain raising irish african aid to the electorate
and who might be a bit of a liabilty come election time on account of being such an easy to boo plonker.

The same day, the Vatican issued a pamphlet, clearing up some issues on which you might have been worrying.

*It is not ok, to take Holy Communion without going to Confession first.

*It is not ok, to support divorce, abortion, contraception and gay marriage.

*It is not ok, to approach the altar rail, and receiveth the wafer with anything less than awe & fear of the transubstantiated Christ, be it from a fully ordained priest or lay minister of the eucharist.

(from the kathurlick press):-
Responding to reporters' questions about the London terrorist attacks, Ahern said that it was "a terrible, sad day." He asked rhetorically whether those responsible for the bombings could possibly believe that the G8 leaders, currently engaged in talks in Scotland, would change their policies are the result of the bloodshed. The Irish premier quickly answered his own question in the negative.

Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahern condemned the London blasts on Thursday as "a black mark on society" and said such acts of terrorism would not affect decisions by the Group of Eight.

"This is terrorism and violence perpetrated against ordinary people ... it's just a black mark on society, a devastating blow against people," he told reporters minutes after meeting Pope Benedict at the Vatican.

"This is a huge emergency. A terrible, sad day," he said.

"What satisfaction do people get out of that? Will this mean that the G8 leaders will make a different decision than they would have made yesterday?. It won't," Ahern said.

"This is all wanton violence. What does this all mean, killing innocent people who were probably on their holidays, going shopping around London for the day," he said.

The Vatican on Thursday said too many Roman Catholics were not taking their religion seriously and that those faithful who receive communion and still support abortion rights were behaving scandalously.

In an 88-page working document for a synod of bishops to be held in October, the Vatican also decried dwindling attendance at Sunday Mass and reaffirmed a rule that Catholics who divorce and remarry outside the Church cannot take communion.

The document on the theme of the Eucharist said many Catholics had lost the sense of the sacred surrounding communion, which the Church teaches becomes the body and blood of Christ during the Mass.

"Some receive communion while denying the teachings of the Church or publicly supporting immoral choices in life, such as abortion, without thinking that they are committing an act of grave personal dishonesty and causing scandal," it said.

"Some Catholics do not understand why it might be a sin to support a political candidate who is openly in favor of abortion or other serious acts against life, justice and peace," it said.

It said an increasingly secularized society had weakened the sense of mystery in the sacrament of communion. Too few Catholics were approaching communion with the "fear and trembling" that the true presence of God warranted.

It also listed a series of other "deficiencies and shadows" related to communion, lamenting that too many Catholics were taking the sacrament while they were in a state of sin because they had not gone to confession first.

"The faithful frequently receive Holy Communion without even thinking that they might be in state of mortal sin," it said.

The taking of communion by divorced Catholics who remarry outside the Church had become "a common occurrence in various countries" even though it is officially forbidden.

{[( we have no photos of Bertie Ahern receiving communion in indymedia land. they are welcome)]}

For his part the Pope commented on the London Bombings in an address addressed to the English RC Cardinal Murphy O'Connor, signed by the Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Angelo Sodano.

It said Pope Benedict, "learned with sorrow the news of the terrorist attacks carried out in London, and deplores these acts as anti-human and anti-Christian."

The message asked the London archbishop to convey to the victims' next of kin that "the pope shares their grief and prays to the Lord to give them the comfort that only He can provide in the circumstances."

thats coz we get wine too.
not just wafers for us.
oh no. we get the whole last supper hoggie.
the catholics aren't trusted with that. only the priest gets wine. sorry blood. the blood, transubstantiated sacred blood of the christ. If so many of us are in such terribly mortal sin, how can we accuse others of being so bad for blowing us up on the way to work?
