 Susan Nathan will launch her new book "The Other Side of Israel: My journey across the Jewish-Arab divide" in the Irish Writers' Centre, 19 Parnell Square, Dublin, at 7.30 PM on Monday 20th June, under the auspices of the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign. In 2003, UK-born Susan Nathan moved from her comfortable home in Tel Aviv to Tamra, an Arab town in the northern part of Israel. Nathan had arrived in Israel four years earlier and had taught English and worked with various progressive social organizations. Her desire to help build a just and humane society in Israel took an unexpected turn, however, when she became aware of Israel’s neglected and often oppressed indigenous Arab population. Despite warnings from friends about the dangers she would encounter, Nathan settled in an apartment in Tamra, the only Jew among 25,000 Muslims. There she discovered a division between Israeli Jews and Israeli Arabs as tangible as the concrete wall and razor-wire fences that surround the Palestinian towns of the West Bank and Gaza. |

She is delusional, sick, and should not be considered as a legitimate voice of Israeli people. She represents what the Palestinanians would be considerd "collaborators" except in Israel, they do not shot them in the head or hand them in the city square. We just want them implode all by themselves. She will be loved by those who want to hear the message, and laughed at, or ignored by Jews who have a love of life.

If more of us here in Israel had the courage of Susan Nathen then we might have a chance of creating a just and democratic society in the land of Palestine/Israel. G-d help us all if we fail to reach out to each other. Susan Nathan is showing us the way. Bless her.

There already is a democracy in the region. Only one. Which the Arabs have been trying to destroy for 60 years.

Israelis have a far better claim than so called "Palestinians"
Jews title is derived from: 1. God, as stated in the bible, 2. From Article 95 of the 1920 Treaty of Sevres, which is based on the Balfour Declaration as accepted by the WWI allies in the Conference of San Remo. This transferred sovereignty from the Ottoman Empire which had exercised undisputed sovereignty for several hundred years to the British in trust for a national homeland for the Jews, 3. By conquest in the defensive 1967 war started by the Egyptian blockade of Israeli shipping which is a casus belli and by Jordan's shelling. Under the Articles of the League of Nations, the conqueror has the right to exercise sovereignty over the conquered territory until a peace treaty is negotiated.
"Palestinians" is a ficticious people that was invented for political purposes in the 1960s according to Zahir Muhsein, a member of the PLO executive committee who said:
"The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct 'Palestinian people' to oppose Zionism.".

Most so called "Palestinians" are in fact immigrants from surrounding Arab states or first generation descendents
of them. Almost all "Palestinians" in the refugee camps have never lived in Israel. See Aryeh Avneri, "Claim of Dispossession"
Arabs now call Judea and Samaria the "West Bank" because wouldn't it look silly to say that the Jews are illegally occupying Judea.
Its interesting that this appears on the day of the gaza pullout.

The Balfour Declaration you mention and the subsequent treaty should be seen in light of Balfours quotes that

Occupation of palestinian land is illegal and the world see this, the Gaza pullout is sad for the settlers but they dont belong there. How can a people justify their occupation of land based on the bible, if thats the case

1. Who is this God person anyway, and if (s)he exists would (s)he approve of what is being done in (her)his name?
2. Who are the Brits, Ottomans etc. to take land from its rightful brown owners and give it to a bunch of white supremacist rightwing nutcases from Brooklyn and elsewhere who want to ethnically cleanse it of its rightful brown inhabitants in order to set up a monothestic state?
The land wasn't simply GIVEN away - there were numerous diplomatic initiatives taken between Britain, Ottoman, Jewish and Arab sides regarding the division of the land. If the Palestinians and Arabs had accepted the 1947 Partition Plan - instead of declaring war on Israel with the intention of destroying it and ethnically cleansing its Jewish population - there would have been no refugee crisis.
Plus, not all Israelis are "white supremacists" from Brooklyn - indeed, most Israelis are as brown - or sometimes even darker - than your beloved Palestinians. Jews are also indigenous to the Middle East, and to the Land of Israel.
This is not to say that Israel hasn't done some awful things, but trying to view the conflict in terms of "brown natives vs evil white colonialists" is wrong and dishonest.
