China?s Climate Charade: A Green Fa?ade for Economic Supremacy Wed May 07, 2025 07:00 | Tilak Doshi
China's claim to 'climate leadership' is a geopolitical manoeuvre to counter Trump's narrative, not a pledge of emissions cuts, says Dr Tilak Doshi. Expecting China to join the West's economic self-sabotage is delusional.

In South america similar things have been known to happen where contaminated horses who were at a horse racing track somehow contaminated fungus contaminated the toads leading to their spectacular spontanous explosion which led to their spectacular demise.
The other theory.
No horses, no racing, no gambling, just a really contaminated pond.

Dear friends and comrades,
A brief report from Hamburg (as far as I can give it):
The day started with a small appropriation-action in a very rich part of hamburg where activits with funny masks and the slogan "the fat years are over" (it's from a german movie in which young people do silly things) on t-shirts, flyers and banners ran into a restaurant grabbed the food on the buffet, gave flowers to the workers, wrestled a little bit with the commander-master-chief of the at-least-40-Euros-for-a-breakfast-restaurant and ran off without being caught or identified (at least, this story is what I was told by some people who know people wo know people who took part in the action, but I don't remember who that was, but the info can be treated as confirmed, I think).
Parallel to that action was a "charming-offensive" at the end-point of the DGB (the traditional soc-dem-suck-them union) manifestation where people gave out flyers and the samba-band rocked the house. Only few union-people were convinced to come to the nearby starting EuroMayDay but a lot of students who had a block on the DGB-rally joined in.
The beginning of the demo was with theaters and speeches from the funny "wedding wagon" (propaganda for useful passport-weddings), mostly on the situation of "migrants" and "refugees". Amongst others an inscened cynical deportation-theater and a bolt-cutter ballet against camps.
The demo started and we had the blocks in the order:
1. Migration with puppets, wedding-wagon and small but rocking band organized by a refugee-initiative.
2. Striking students from Hamburg with mostly yellow t-shirts (against student fees)
3. Pink/Silver/Orange/Purple/N/X/trans/post/etc. block with the Samba-band from Berlin and a cool dancing crew
4. The Main-wagon with mixed music and speeches.
5. A wagon from I don't know whom with a very cool cloaking-device (it was tarned with banners as police-squad) with
a street-theater showing how the german work-fare works and how violent it is (violence againt the workers and violence against the non-working and no-german-passport-owners)
6. A wagon from the "fusion", the "holiday-communism-festival" with feed-shakin' freak-electro.
In the beginning at 1pm we were around 1.000 people but towards the end we were around 3.000. But don't ask me where they came from. Could it be that they joined in spntaneously because thay like us so much? That would be probably the first time in German demo-history (that I took part in) that s.th. like that happens...
Anyway: We moved from the inner city along the harbour into Hafenstraße, the major nest of activists and formerly completely squatted. Then on to the Reeperbahn, a major sex-work-mile, to a asylum-seeker-camp-ship and back into the city. On the way we had two special actions: one against "Lidl" a German food-chain with extremely ******* *****
*************** ***** and precarious working conditions where we had a speech, taped stones on the windows and taped lots of other info-stuff on the walls. We didn't dare to spray or attack the building - the Germans are so booooooring. The other action was led by a drum-group of some refugees where we approached the asylumn-ship and managed to get up to the door screaming and shouting against any forms of lagers or borders and expressing our solidarity with all people wo suffer from borders in a more direct manner than everybody does. We were able to leave our demands in paint and paper on the walls of the buildings and the security-guards were damn scared :-). All along the way we had banner-, flyer-, poster-actions. The parade ended at 4:30pm in a small park where everybody wal lying around, drinking, relaxing, talking or listening to the spreeches from the wagon (thanx to milano for the interview!).
The cops were very few, maybe 100 in the front an 50 in the back of the parade, kept in the background and came out of their rabbit-holes only in the end when they wanted to arrest s.o. because this person was putting stickers on rich fat-ass-cars (they didn't manage to get the person out) and they sent a helicopter when we were approaching the asylumn-ship.
The parade was loud, very very political and innovative in its symbols and messages, inclusive and for the German context (if it's not the drunken May 1st in Berlin-Kreuzberg or some avantgarde-of-the-I-don't-know-what-class-action by cool black-dressed-white-skin-young-hetero-student majority-males) it was rebellious and had the dynamics of a
movement, not of a sunday-walk.
The most impressing thing for me was: It really was a space of communication! Through the overemphsized self-representation and self-agitation, forms of expression were found that really taught me new things and allowed me to do things I don't do in the tight skin of the rooms structured by the hegemonial majority-discourses.
EuroMayDay, I love you. Let's organize so that we can stay together.

I think, I speak also for the Berlin Samba-Band and x-prekaria when I thank the Hamburgers for the work they did to
realize this starting point. See you next year in Berlin on the EuroMayDay, my friends.

It seems that shortage of leaves and not fungus was to blame. Hogworts haven't made any comment.
In the last comment you can read about May Day in Hamburg in 2005. They had a great time. They'll be doing the 2007 G8. You can bring them frogs, fungus or toads - it's up to you. Or you could stay at home. Ribbid ribbid ribbid. great slogan. great franchise. Oh someday it will be a banner.
