Introducing Julia

category international | politics / elections | other press author Friday February 04, 2005 22:29author by o as if Report this post to the editors

Little Miss Tymoshenko of the Orange Party of Ukraine has become the new PM

You might remember Julia from the Interpol alert put out back in the 1990s when everyone worth their salt was on the "find 'em drag 'em in and lock 'em up" list put out from sneaky HQ Belgium.

She served a short sentance for being framed in relation to corruption charges and weapons procurement.
have you gone through the f***ing door yet?
have you gone through the f***ing door yet?

After that, she grew her hair a bit longer, it was still chestnut brown though, just like in her young days in the Youth Communist wing Ukraine Branch.
(Bolshie bi ulaimh crew go out the bog and shoot at sheep type thing and learn the band songs)

Then things began to change.

She put in streaks. Blonde ones. And slowly ascended the ladder of precarious Ukranian politics to take her place next to Victor (the one with the Ukrainian surname) during the Orange Revolution last year, when the Victor (the one with the Ukranian surname) [who was poisoned with agent orange] {but not enough to kill him just make everyone ask questions} took to the streets of Kiev (who some can draw on the back of a napkin) [ recycled paper serviette probably in ancient greek ] and brought in the Orange Revolution just about the time that Rev. Dr. Mr. Paisley refused cooked food at the Diplomatic legation of the Republic of Ireland to the Court of St. James (coz he was worried about being poisoned).

Anyway, Julia is now PM.
She has long blonde hair, in a fashionable sort of retro-tress which reassures everyone and has all the right qualifications on her CV to sort out the economic problems of the Ukraine which are -
Mafia Mafia and Mafia.

Of course Julia having been on the wanted list by sneaky Belgian Interpol will know all about the Mafia.

And she has signalled a willingness to go on using pyroxide, flaunting that cute little nose and working with Russia led by Mr Kurichyan of UNCLE and Cousin Xian of China in the fight against Mr Bush who takes credit for the whole oreange revolution in the first place, and apparantly wants to honour his commitment to the "super rich" of the USA in revaluing the currency of both China and the CCCP sorry Russia at the next round of talks which you'll remember coz you're good at remembering Lula will also be attending and is scheduled to take his shoe off @

Julia is quite happy with the "little princess tag" and looks forward to being a "nordic blonde" type pin-up with the troglydyte neo nazis and wanky types throughout the eastern and central block of Europe and getting more pages of "hello!" than Condolence Rice.

Meanwhile on the other side of reality...

please realise you are not digital creatures.
it might seem like really high tech and make your life easy, but it is *very* important you remember you are a monkey.

Give your records a spin.
Read your books.
Have a dance.
Basta!
Dinero Gratis!

( I suppose this will get edited its not rational enough)

you have to put other press links, or else the journalists who reproduce this stuff tomorrow don't have anything to show their sub editors, or editors, then at the random meeting with the director of the paper, allegations of inventing news get made, and various ministers of justice and truth and so, get invovled and represent their constituents and stuff, and oh well.
Links are important.

Finally might I just add, in the spirit of spookiness which i know you all love, otherwise you wouldn't have such an exemplary culture of evading the law, being rebelious or loyal or in general "blackguards" for your very sincere interpretations of christianity and Irish / Scottish family life, that when the sneaky brigade got Julia in for questioning she got a car registration plate 00014.

this means she does indeed have a licence to kill.

For background consult our Azerbyzhan cousins-
"She nursed a venomous hatred for the ruling regime, especially former president Leonid Kuchma and his administration chief Viktor Medvedchuk, for prosecuting her and having jailed her husband, who until recently was a wanted man, and her father-in-law."

Timoshenko hails from the industrial eastern region of Dniepropetrovsk where all the miners were fielded by losing Blue side Victor but very much listened to. (by us anyway)

Europe has welcomed the new Ukranian government as has at last Russia and everyone looks forward to lots of co-operation on circus, acrobats, piano playing, mafia ending, sexual slave ending, and nuclear clean up at Chernobyl.

Ukraine has announced that visa restrictions on EU citizens who wish to visit or study in that country are to be relaxed.
Vice-Prime Minister for Eurointegration Oleg Rybachuk said.

The vice-prime minister said on Saturday Ukraine “is planning to ease visa-travel regime for foreigners, primarily for residents of European countries.” “We’ll change visa-travel regime for foreigners, but not for the entire world. Europeans will not have problems with visas to Ukraine.”

In his words, Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko gave a corresponding instruction to remove barriers before the 2005 Eurovision song competition to be held in Kiev in May. Principled changes will be made in the customs and border guard services, he added.

Rybachuk believes that the European Union will grant Ukraine the status of country’s market economy in April 2005. The European Parliament and European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso pledged support to Ukraine in this aspect. reports http://www.itar-tass.com

Now the PM of Georgia Mr Zhvania died from Carbon Monoxide poisoning on Feb 3 whilst visiting a pal Mr Yusupov, who was vice governer of the Kvemo Kartli region. The head of the Georgian Justice Ministry’s forensic medical examination service, Levan Samkharauli, has announced the results of the biochemical tests of Zhvania’s and Yusupov's blood.

According to the analysis, the death of Zhvania and Yusupov was caused by carbon monoxide intoxication. Carboxihemoglobin was detected in the blood, 60.6 percent in Zhvania's blood and 73.9 percent in Yusupov's blood.

Their death occured only two days after a terrorist incident (car bomb) in Gori city located 65 kilometres west of Tbilis, claimed the lives of 3 policemen and left many seriously wounded. The Georgian minister of the interior confirmed this morning to Eastern news agencies that new evidence has come to light, and the case will be solved soon.

Georgia has declared two days of official mourning for these 5 dead men. Biological samples of both dead officials have been sent to the FBI in the USA so that they confirm the causes of death for those of a suspicious bent of mind in Hannibal Lector land.

Georgy Khelashvili, 32, an official from the Pardoning Commission under the presidential administration, shot himself to death on Friday night. According to preliminary data provided by police Khelashvili committed suicide at home. Motives behind the suicide have not been mentioned. However there is a high probability that they were personal and not associated with his work.

Feb 12, the other Victor finally officially conceded defeat. Julia began last week an analysis of privitisation deals under the last presidency which had sold Ukranian resources and services to new companies often reliant on executive staff and capital which proceeded from far away in the free market capitalist world.
Julia is unhappy with this, and accordingly is moving to undo these privitisation contracts finding them to be illegal, immoral and not in the interest of the Ukraine.
Mr Tarasyuk is making sure that no-one gets upset about hearing russian spoken in the Ukraine and working with other ministers is injecting capital and education in the eastern part of the country, Donetsk.
Julia then decided to set up a new Ukranian bureau of investigations with far reaching powers, which some western observers worry will mirror the Ukranian security services (the ones who gave agent orange for lunch to orange Viktor).
The USA congress is to cancell the Jackson-Vanik amendment for Ukraine, which in the immediate post Soviet period, (when the BVM fulfilled her obligations to Pius XII to convert the russians [and ukranians], [and latvians], [and estonians who are still lutheran] [and the east prussians] [and all sorts of russians in a wide general sense] [including the muslim russians of the eastern and southern former soviet states])
placed strict restricitions on aid to the Ukraine for things like food, medicine and and development of small and medium businesses.
Julia (sorry Victor) is accordingly moving the Ukraine into the WTO, position it for negotiations with the G8 (+brazil) and now beginning the long road to the EU for (finger's crossed) 2016.

Meanwhile to the east of Julia's land, as a result of consultation with Russia and China the former soviet republic of kazakhstan has refused a USA request to station AWACS reconnaisance aircraft t bases ceded in the immediate post soviet period.
This move to restrict USAF use of those basis has now been copied by other former soviet states inlcuding Georgia (which is still in a bit of a confusing mess).

There was a few earthquake yesterday which measure 6.2 on the richter scale in the Xinjiang-Uygur Autonomous region of China which borders Kazhakstan which several moments later experienced a 5.0 earthquake on the richter scale some 255km south of Almaty.

No casualties or deaths have been reported.

"as above so below"

The EU and the Ukraine have signed a 3 year co-operation pact, the first such diplomatic and legally binding document signed between a unified Europe and the Ukraine in history. All previous attempts to find a common policy have been the direct result of war and occupation.

Jean Asselborn, Euro-Minister for Foreign Affairs, presided over the Cooperation Council between the European Union and Ukraine on 21 February. Ukraine was represented by Oleg Rybachuk, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration. During the Cooperation Council, President Jean Asselborn and Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Rybachuk signed the first European Union-Ukraine Action Plan in the framework of the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP).

The European Union also offered its congratulations on the election of a new Ukrainian government and expressed its support for the ambitious program of political and economic reforms in Ukraine.

Yuri Kravchenko, a former minister of the government of the Ukraine has been found lifeless after doing a Hunter S Thompson (a technical term for suicide).
The late Mr Yuri was thought to be at the centre of a very nasty and sordid affair which saw people terrified, dissappeared and well sort of gulaged in the best modern fashion, (some were even house arrested on the street in cardboard boxes without bank accounts of national security numbers) in which Georgiy Gongadze a journalist died.

The body of Mr Kravchenko had two bullet holes in the head area, which were left after the full entry of small metalic elements (called bullets) into the body, this often is associated with death.

Mr Kravchenko as interior minister of the former government held responsibility for lots of things, including timetables, garda siochana behaviour, speeding detectors, investigations into the mafia (a technical term borrowed from italian for organised crime syndicates who exert oligarchic influence in emergent democracies from the US to Asia).

Mr Kravchenko recently enjoyed holliers in the Czech republic the celebrated home to Kafka and Milan Kundera and a member of our Union. He returned to Kiev and asked for police protection. Whilst he was minister of the interior he of course had police protection all the time.

Julia then said -

"The question now arises -- does Kuchma need to be guarded? If he asks for protection, under Ukraine's laws, he will be provided with it,"

Since he was found with the holes Julia has said-

"If he truly took his own life, it means he was afraid of responsibility for those acts connected with Gongadze's murder," "If it is not suicide ... then I believe it was an attempt to conceal information on the murder."

Which means Julia thinks there are still other people out there in Mafia land concealing info.

For his part, Victor the Ukranian Orange revolution Pressie, has had this to say, (and let's be fair he didn't mess it up, completely on telecaster on this one)
Everyone has a choice - to cooperate with the court, the prosecutor's office, give testimony, expose oneself to a public trial and defend one's rights and honour." "And there is another option - to sentence oneself."
(just like Hitler in the bunker.)

Pressie Victor last week declared the investigation into the murder of the Ukranian Veronica Guerin as a matter of "personal honour".

He has now ordered a full state investigation into the death of Yuri Kravchenko.

So far five police officials have been detained.

"a brief working visit, the first top-level visit to Kiev after the power change in the country.
Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko took office on January 23 and paid a working visit to Moscow the next day.
Yushchenko has expressed the hope the visit by Putin to Kiev will mark the beginning of a new stage in developing bilateral relations.
"Russia is our strategic partner and we hope the visit will mark the beginning of a new stage of Ukrainian-Russian relations both in the economic and political areas," the Ukrainian president said. "

Yesterday Putin attended the "European 4" meeting.
this is how the russian official news agency reported-

The first informal summit of the European Four – Russian President Vladimir Putin, French President Jacques Chirac, German Federal Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder and Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero – is underway in the Elysee Palace in Paris.

Putin’s aide Sergei Prikhodko said they would discuss international and European issues.

The international agenda includes the situation in conflict zones and response to global challenges. “We did not say in preparing for the negotiations that the leaders would discuss Iraq and Afghanistan – positions on these two issues have been defined and the situation is clear. It is much more important to discuss the acute problems of Lebanon and Syria. It is not planned to discuss Iran either,” Prikhodko said.

He said that the four leaders would touch upon trans-Atlantic relations. “The Russian president will inform the European colleagues about results of his recent meeting with U.S. President George W. Bush, while the leaders of France, Germany and Spain will comment on the EU-US relations,” he said.

The EU-Russia relations and simpler visa formalities will make up the core of the European agenda.

The summit is informal, Prikhodko said. “This is not a bloc, the four leaders will not support or confront any third party,” he said. “It is a pure accident that the summit coincided with an anniversary of Iraqi occupation,” he said.

I must say I like the European 4 idea.
The diplomatic language is so refreshing, after years of anglo-saxon, its great to see jesuitical lines like "we didn't say they would discuss", and can we point out the pure accidental coincidence to you, oh how informal how casual how clumsy.
Great stuff. Who knows, between us we may be collectively responsible for killing less people in the search for peace and democracy than the wingèd- lion in babalon.

a story told, a fable fabulously woven for the future leaving cert generation to mull over.

But then along came Mary "the mammy" Harney and spitting the fury of a West dublin unpopular politician who is used to the cruel and spiteful taunts of the public, decided that a Ukranian 28year old Julia resident in Prague(?) had been working as an interpreter to Liam Lawlor the former TD for FF in Dublin West, who instead of attending his party ard fheis went to Moscow where he died in her company in a road incident in a suburb.

Some unkind commerical papers in Ireland, said she was a prostitute. But they were only repeating what some commercial papers had just written in russian. Those papers have now withdrawn the allegations.

So then, is Julia Kushnir not a harlot?
possibly not.
Was Julia Kushnir on a flight from Prague to Moscow?

Have we heard the last of Julia?

::::::which one?

For one of these options, I can tell you that Victor is now being nice to the Russians and has arrested/liquidated less former Ukranian mercedes drivers than Julia Tymoshenko did. & Julia T. will be back, by which time this article (which aint goin nowhere) will have this odd blemish, for at the moment, are we to find any "clear connection" between our Russian and Ukranian magical books and that terribly troublesome constituency of Dublin West?

sure... we can wait.

(which is where I left off in the last quasi-meta-blog "I secretly rule the world" comment)

Today we may read in the french press (as they do their best to look abroad and forget their own woes) that julia has between 17% and 22% of the electorate when polled behind her, and is ready to fight the 2009 elections. Thats coz Julia is a democrat.

Meanwhile in Liberation, the analysts concur with myself that what is happening right now in minsk, with many hundreds of democratic (though they call themselves anarchist) activists in okristina street prison) is not really a "blue revolution". http://www.liberation.fr/page.php?Article=369868 Thats what some people would like to call it. a "blue revolution". The same sort of people who called the Georgian revolution "rose" and the Lebanese anti syrian march "somthing else" until of course Hezbollah dwarfed that particular march, and those sort of people went back to gurggling about democracy in Iraq, and giving work visas to the good people in their far off land.

So there you have it. a very early Sunday morning "sunday papers style"update to the article on the extraordinary woman (who is really like lethal to boot) who played such an important rôle in Ukranian recent history.

If we can get a complete amnesty for all our fellow activists and peers who have been brutally treated in minsk in the last days, then we can go call it whatever colour revolution we want. & i'll tie my hair in a julia tress and do benetton adverts.

you really are quite lethal. I believe you're running on 23% so far.
