Stayed in Straffan last night. Arrived in Clane this morning, and leafletted the people going into 11.30 mass to see if anyone wanted to join the cycle. No takers so far.

In Prosperous now, stopped for lunch, getting rained on again, third time so far.
Maybe George Bush is right and God is on his side

One of the vegetarians asked for a sandwich for lunch to be told they were out of salad, and was ham and cheese okay?

Going from here to Kilmeague, then Allen, then Milltown. Stopping for the day in Kildare around 4pm. The Kildare IAWM are putting on a barbecue for us, and a couple more people are joining us for the next stages. More tomorrow...

where they've been :-

Straffan
small town in County Kildare.

The ruins of Rathcoffey Castle lies northwest of the village of Straffan. This was once the residence of the Wogan family, of whom the most famous was Sir Charles Wogan (born about 1698). He was a prominent Jacobite who was imprisoned in London for his part in the Scottish 'Fifteen' Rising; in 1716 he escaped to France and served in Dillon's regiment of the Irish Brigade. Straffan Steam Museum is worth a visit.

Prosperous
small town in County Kildare.

Named from an 18th century model village and cotton mill, a commemorative memorial in the town tells the story. There are several good 18th century houses in the locality, including Curryhills, now a hotel. Coarse angling on the Grand Canal. At Ballynafagh Lake, a reservoir of the canal and a nature reserve with a wide variety of flora and fauna. There is also an annual angling festival held in prosperous.

perk up -- your reports are read world wide and you have millions behind your efforts. We are one! So nevermind if you get snubbed by some dimwits on their way to church. You are bearing witness to crimes of Bush Jr. and Blair.

Never get discouraged.
