may 15: II civil inspection of the NATO base in Valencia (Spain)

category international | anti-war / imperialism | press release author Monday May 10, 2004 19:56author by inspectorauthor email inspecciociutadana at yahoo dot com Report this post to the editors

Another time some persons will enter as civil inspectors publicly the fences and wires, and will try to reach the main installations of the military base in order to realize an inspection.

Another time some persons will enter as civil inspectors publicly the fences and wires, and will try to reach the main installations of the military base in order to realize an inspection.

To begin with, it´s a good place to look for massive destruction arms or for information about that ones that are being hidden at some US o NATO bases in Europe, bases too similar to the one we have to live with. We could also find some information about other NATO specialities, just as fragmentation bombs and uranium projectile. But anyway, it is easy to prove with a simple glance that the base is an installation of war that points out to south.

We know that it is possible that another time the authorities won´t facilitate the work of the inspectors, just like it happened last year. But at least for some hours we will return to make this land ours, a land that was stolen to the people of Bétera 60 years ago. We will make use of it taking a walk, having a picnic and spending a morning in the country side in order to show publicly our demand of the closure of the base, its devolution to the people and the Sierra Calderona.

The CIVIL INSEPCTION of the NATO base is a protest and a proposal at the same time: It´s a proposal to civil desobedience, as a non voilent action in a group, an active refusal. It´s a proposal to continue working for the closure of the base and the devolution of the land to social and ecological purposes. And it is a protest against war and its preparations, such as the existence of an army and of the whole military structure.

The CIVIL INSPECTION follows the call of the International War Resisters (Wri-IRG) for realizing activities against military installations during the first two weeks of may. In other places, some things are being preparated: Actions against the military maneuver camp of San Gregorio (Zaragoza) and marchs to the military bases of Rota (Cadiz), Soiexes (Bilbao), Alcoi and Logroño.

dear sir/madam,
I am unemployed but observant, I was wondering would you have vacancy in your diplomatic mission?
yours etc.,

NATO OTAN has lots of bases some are air bases, others are naval bases. The USAF also has bases which are described as being NATO OTAN bases but they don't share anything with anyone else ever unless it's bombs and torture guidelines.

don't let them sleep.
play really loud music at them 24/7.
female personal will interrogate naked males.
use in excess of 300watts to light their cell, never turn off the light.
neglect water ration.

at the site linked in the article above the reader will find Catalan, the Catalans are small indiginous mountain people mostly forgotten by the civilised world, today they number less than 23 tribes and only 5000 people speak the ancient Catalan tongue which is notoriously difficult and doesn't have an alphabet. There are forty words for "expensive". The Catalans were depicted in early Byzantine art as being a bloodthirsty lot, brandishing scimitars and wearing their traditional kilt, but Catalans these days are silghtly more trusting of visitors. What few can make the long mountain journey, as there are still no airports in Catalanland. The chief national produce is propaganda. Catalans produce more propaganda per capita than any other member nation of the UN. The average Catalan producing a whopping 35kg of posters, pamphlets and sticky lables a year!
the USA is one Catalanland's primary allies, and is hopeful of helping these forgotten people fully re-arm their military force called "lmaulets".

If you know best and think you'd rather leave the Catalans alone, then you can read this english language file from 1995 on NATO/USAF deployment in our Continent:-

if that whets your appetite you could go on to read this:-

No matter where you are in Europe, there is a NATO/OTAN/USAF/US Naval base, just down the road.
Here's the visiting guide for the UK

The average inmate of these places thinks stuff like this is entertaining, succint and complex:-

and they'd be right.
the real forces magazine has a vocabulary three points under the British Sun newspaper.
Which means a ABCD parented 9 year old can understand the snytax and vocabulary if not the material.
