The post says

and I wonder if anyone can state what these authorized sources are? I've heard no more about this story.

This was posted about two weeks ago. I dont understand why its been reposted now. Nobody can confirm this story, and i havnt seen it anywhere else.
Maybe you should have posted it on Thursday. It might have made sense as an April 1st joke.
My guess is it will turn up in the next edition of 'Nexus'.

The claim that the Madrid bombings were an attempted coup d'etat is reported elsewhere.

The following excerpt comes from the transcript of a meeting that physical economist, Lyndon LaRouche had with the Mexican press in Monterrey on March 19, 2004. Below is an excerpt from that article, web link at the foot of this posting. Note the reference the author makes to an article from the German newspaper Junge Welt. The German newspaper also draws a link between the atrocities in Madrid on March 11th 2004, and the false flag terrorism of Operation Gladio during the 1960s-1980s in Italy. Gladio culminated in the Bologna train station bombing and was eventually proved to have been carried out with the assistance of state intelligence agencies.

The Scotland on Sunday (the Scotsman's Sunday edition) breaks the truth about the Madrid bombing, as only LaRouche, so far, has had the guts to state it.

We know that the Madrid bombing was the work of the Synarchist apparatus of rightwing fascists -- the same apparatus that ran the "strategy of tension" of the late 1970s, culminating in the August 1980 Bologna train station bombing.

Anyone who tries to peddle the idea that this was either the work of Al Qaeda or ETA is kidding himself or lying.

As LaRouche observed, on being briefed on the Scotland on Sunday story, the Madrid attack was the work of this rightwing apparatus, as the article indicates, and as LaRouche indicated in his press release, issued just hours after the attack.

This is the leftover fascist apparatus.

If this reality is blocked on, people are going to die, and the responsibility will fall on those who failed to admit the obvious.

Ghost chasing does not function under these circumstances.

LaRouche's view is that the Scotland on Sunday article was the result of a group of serious European intelligence officials determining that they had to put out the truth. Some were French, and they apparently decided to get out the word on the flank--through the Scottish media, and probably via circles in British intelligence who know what is going on here, and what the dangers are of letting the cover-up stick. This is not a Bush league response by Bush league amateurs.

The Scotland on Sunday article explicitly linked the Madrid attack to the 1970s and early 1980s actions by the "Black Orchestra" of neo-fascist terrorists, who ran the "strategy of tension" to create chaos, blamed on "the communists," to provoke military coups all over Europe. This is the core of the Synarchist plot. The people behind the Scotland on Sunday story are thinking like LaRouche. People who dodge that reality out of fear are setting conditions for their own demise.

Critical left-wing media are demanding to know why, after all, the special anti-terror squad stormed the house with the alleged "terrorist cell" members in it.

It would have made more sense to arrest them, at least arrest the "Tunisian" leader of the (mostly Moroccan) group.

Instead, helicopters were deployed from the start, and the anti-terror squad began a shoot-out immediately after it arrived on site, which confrontation then resulted in an explosion that blew up part of the building.

Interior Minister Angel Acebes then went to the press, stating that the terrorists responsible for the Madrid train bombings were dead, killed in the explosion, during the shoot-out.

But police spoke of three terrorists who had allegedly been able to flee during the shoot-out despite the fact that the entire site was sealed off by anti-terror units.

With the explosion and the escape of the three, all "evidence" that could prove the thesis of the "terror cell," has disappeared.

Doubts are also raised about the story, that a Spaniard had stolen more than 100 kilograms of dynamite from a mine in northern Spain where he had worked, and sold it to the terrorist gang that carried out did the Madrid train bombings on March 11.

How a single person was able to steal 100 kilograms of dynamite is one question; the other is where he stole it from: The boss of the mine declared that no dynamite is missing, and therefore, nothing can have been stolen.

Furthermore, the mobile phone store in Madrid which belongs to one of the arrested Moroccan suspects, was broken into and ransacked by "criminals," over the past weekend.

Thus, all "evidence" which could prove that the 10 mobile phones used as remote-control detonators for the dynamite backpacks on the trains on March 11, actually came from that store, has been disappeared.

And the store was not even under surveillance by police, it seems, so that the "criminals" could just break into it.

Former Spanish Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar's statement
reported by European media on Tuesday, May 18,
that the United States will be hit with a major terrorist incident,
and will be under FEMA control in June, 2004
is being investigated with the utmost urgency and seriousness.

But this must be taken up by the U.S. Congress and other bodies
and governments serious about stopping terrorism, without delay.

Aznar was the only ally of the Anglo-American war coalition
of Cheney-Bush and Tony Blair, and was drummed out of office
in Spain, just days after the March 11 train bombings
run by the Synarchist terrorist international.

After the train bombings in Madrid, Aznar attempted
to cancel the Spanish elections that threw him out of office
in a cold coup d'etat.

Now he is in the U.S. campaigning for Cheney-Bush's perpetual war doctrine,
and setting the conditions for what
a leading political figure in the United States has called`
`a Herman Goering-style stunt to fix the elections.''

Aznar's statement comes when major problems exist for Bush,

that the U.S. will be hit with terrorist attacks
to shape the outcome of the U.S. elections,
``just as the terrorists attacked Spain on March 11.''

Aznar made statements like this in at least three separate venues:
a speech at Chapman University in California,
where he was invited to receive the Global Citizen Award,
in an interview granted to the Los Angeles Times,
and in an interview with Associate Press,
of which only a small portion has been printed.

When a former head of government,
who played a decisive role in the Iraq war,
makes this kind of prediction
and professes to have definite knowledge,
this is where the Congress {should not make the mistake}
of falling for further phony stories about terrorist threats.

Congress should put this loudmouth on the line, demanding:
We want answers on this -- where is this information coming from?

Is this a case of ``Yellow Cake extract'',
or a Goering-style stunt to steal the U.S. election?

We have had enough terrorism, and enough disinformation
leading to Cheney et al.'s perpetual war and Beastmen policies.

AZNAR ECHOES CHENEY; THREATENS TERRORIST ATTACK
WILL OCCUR IN U.S. BEFORE THE ELECTIONS.

According to reports monitored in European media,
former Spanish Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar
has spoken of a terrorist attack taking place in June, 2004,
which would lead to a Federal Emergency Management Agency-type takeover of the U.S.

Although this mention of a June date has not been published in the U.S. media,
Aznar has been warning, since his arrival in the United States on May 14,
that ``terrorists will do everything possible
to make their presence felt in the U.S. elections,
just as they did in Spain.''

Aznar claims that the terrorist attack at the Madrid train stations on March 11,
was the only reason his party lost the elections a few days later.

This was his message to an audience at California's Chapman University on May 15,
and to the {Los Angeles Times} the day before.

In his interview with the Los Angeles Times,
Aznar stated that the withdrawal of Spanish troops from Iraq
was equivalent to declaring victory for the terrorists.

``Were I President I would fulfill my obligations,'' he said proudly.

In reference to the attacks of March 11 in Madrid,
he said that events in Spain (meaning electoral results)
would have been different, had the terrorist attacks not occurred.

He also strongly warned the US government that as in Spain,
``the terrorists will do all they can
to disrupt the elections in the USA,''
reports the Spanish newspaper, El Pais.

IHT quotes Aznar as saying,

``They are going to do everything in their power
to have the United States fail.''

The open question remains-- where does Aznar get this type of information?

In reaction to Aznar's interview in LAT, the secretary of the
PSOE, Jose Blanco, qualified the statements made by Aznar in
reference to the Spanish election as an act of ``disloyalty''.

Aznar indeed used every occasion, also, to attack the Zapatero government
which replaced him, for having pulled Spain's troops out of Iraq,
thereby supposedly abandoning its U.S. ally.

There must be international cooperation against terrorism,
``the leading world threat,'' he said.

Concerning the torture scandal Aznar said,

``In a democracy, whatever error one commits can and must be corrected.''

He also insisted that his successor
must continue his hardline policy against Cuba.

Aznar--who heads the Popular Party (PP) founded by
supporters of the old fascist Franco regime--was invited to
California to receive the Global Citizens Medal from Chapman
University (a medal previously awarded to such luminaries as
George Bush, Sr., Margaret Thatcher, and Gerald Ford).

According to Spanish daily La Rioja,
it was the U.S. Ambassador to Spain, George Argyros,
a graduate of this small university, who arranged the visit.

Spanish Internet site El Confidencial.com revealed on
May 18, that Anzar brought a half-dozen people with him to the
U.S., and a ``Republican Foundation'' [sic], close to Bush, paid for it all.

One of those accompanying him, is his son-in-law,
Alejandro Agag, whose participation raised speculation in Spain
that some business deal is being worked on,
because Agag is a top executive for the Banco Portugues de Negocios,
known for his business, rather than political ties.

Aznar is now in Washington, D.C., where he had a one-hour
private luncheon
--no press or pictures allowed--
with Donald Rumsfeld on Monday (May 17).

He was scheduled to dine, also privately, with President Bush,
on Tuesday. All Aznar would say about the Bush meeting,
was that he was invited by his friend, and ``he supposed''

Aznar won't win prizes for saying
"there will be a terrorist attack",
because we are all on "terrorist attack alert".

He lost the election. He thinks he lost the election because of "mass hysteria" which was whipped up against his government.
That "mass hysteria" was not whipped up, it was a popular rejection of his internal and external policies which carried momentum over 8 years.

I believed he was going to lose the election.

My opinion counts for something, I had spent 3 years in the country with my fellow assembly members moving to end that regime, and so disarticulate what I had termed the "US/K" entity, that attempt to build a new Atlantic relationship based on the US hegemony applied through cultural imperialist use of both British and Spanish Crowns.
Aznar wasn't my _real ideological target_, ending the subversion of the Western Alliance by non democratic forces in the USA is the target.
Aznar was simply the most symbolic leader of a badly balanced Atlantic Relationship. And the logical object of our European project.
Some people like to call this "anti-Americanism", it's not, it's more likely to be "pro-Europeanism".

Many in Spain believe Aznar had forewarning of 3/11 as did Bush for 9/11. I do.

I certainly thought an attack was likely.

If there had been no bombing, on the basis of opinion polls, and the last weeks campaining against Aznar/Rajoy, I think there would now be a coalition centred on the PSOE in Spain. However that weekend, resulted in 11 million "going to the street" to say no to Terror, and then thousands going back to the street to say no the PP.
It was a time of great fear for many, in which the damage limitation tactics of the PP government failed the people. I don't think it is helpful to continue with talk of a "coup d'etat", and certainly when on 5/5/04 I made reference to the coup d'etat attempt 23 years previously, I was not thinking to be writing less than two weeks before a real coup d'etat attempt.
Many people suffered greatly "psychologically" in that period, and for commentators to continue the "synarchy coup" story line, is very irksome.
The only commentator that pushes such a line is the Southern democrat candidate running "for/against/supporting" Kerry.

11 million people walked that weekend.
11 million people voted.
Aznar's candidate lost.
Democracy was enforced throughout Europe, and at end the lesson that was learnt, was this:-
We as Europeans reacted very differently to a Terrorist Attack of the magnitute comparative to September 11.
It confirmed the "pro-European" geo-political vision. One based on collective defense but not offence.
Aznar did not wish to play it that way, and in those crucial 32 hours, his ministers clashed with the lines coming from not only his own secret service, but all neighbouring states.
Spain chose Democracy, Peace, and to heal it's wounds as a house divided.

Aznar is doing what he's doing now for Bush.

Personally I'd like to forget what occured.
Though I know I won't. I'll probably go on mulling it over, re-reading the texts before, the texts after, and it will become a watershed in my life. Rather like the RTS! events of London in the 90s.
Hopefully soon the confusion caused, and the very real fear felt then will be forgotten. I'm just glad that at the moment Aznar isn't running his Bush Election campaign "over here".

I joked the other day, that he's organised a job as the next president of Cuba as soon as Fidel drops off. anyway it would be nice if he stayed over there.

anyway. We will be attacked again. No doubt about it. But no-one ought put a date on it.
I even have doubt that I should write articles which predict such dates on the basis of "background noise, instinct and resonance" such as I did last Sunday.

Bomb squad link in Spanish blasts

THE man accused of supplying the dynamite used in the al-Qaeda train bombings in Madrid was in possession of the private telephone number of the head of Spain’s Civil Guard bomb squad, it emerged yesterday.

Emilio Suárez Trashorras, who is alleged to have supplied 200kg of dynamite used in the bombs, had obtained the number of Juan Jesús Sánchez Manzano, the head of Tedax.

The revelation has raised fresh concerns in Madrid about links between those held responsible for the March bombings, which killed 190 people, and Spain’s security services, and shortcomings in the police investigation. Señor Suárez Trashorras and two other men implicated in the bombings have already been identified as police informers. Other members of the group had evaded police surveillance, despite concerns within the security services about their activities and evidence of their association with al-Qaeda.

The telephone number of Señor Sánchez Manzano was contained in a Civil Guard dossier handed to Juan del Olmo, the investigating judge, at the National Court in Madrid. The number was written on a piece of paper found in the possession of Carmen Toro, the wife of Señor Suárez Trashorras. Both are in custody accused of supplying dynamite used in the Madrid bombs.

Apart from that the complete failure of the "security" apparatus on both 911 and 311 would be disconcerting to most sane individuals given that the billions thrown at "the war on terrorism" produce exactly diddly squat.

Collusion goes with the territory in the security game and when their primary threat (Soviet) went away the CIA etc. must have been tempted to invent something else.

They are of course masters in the art of deception, the Iran-Contra affair and Mossad funding of Hamas being two excellent examples.

Contrary to your opinion troll-boy there has hardly been any debate on the role of the security apparatus in fomenting "Muslim" terrorism and it is about time there was.

It is more than a little coincidental that hardly any securocrat heads have rolled since either attack!

REPORTS ON NEW FINDINGS MADE BY SPAIN'S MARCH 11 INVESTIGATION commission of the Spanish Parliament, which raises a lot of questions about the official version given by the Spanish police concerning the March 11 bombings.

{Neues Deutschland} reports that some of the perpetrators of the March 11 massacre were "surveilled" by the official Madrid anti-terror brigade until shortly before the massacre. This is also corroborated by reports from {El Pais} on June 28. {El Pais} writes that between February 2003 and February 2004, the anti-terror brigade in Madrid had been "surveilling a group of radical Islamists which a month later comprised the `commando' unit that perpetrated the March 11 attacks."

The paper reports that because of "lack of means," because the police forces were absorbed in other security services (like the screening for Prince Felipe's wedding), and because of other bureaucratic mishaps, the police could not, despite their "surveillance," prevent the terrible massacre. {Neues Deutschland} points out that of 48 arrested since the March 11 attacks, 13 suspects are still in prison. Five of the suspects were police informants.

They report on a curious incident, which was recently published by {El Mundo}, which reported on a wiretapped telephone call made by Carmen Toro--wife of the mineworker Jose Emilio Suarez Trashorras, who allegedly supplied the explosives from the Asturias mines for the massacre, and who is being held as a suspect in prison. She is said to have called the police chief of Aviles, Manuel Garcia Rodriguez, and told him, "Manolo, we have failed." To which he responded: "Don't worry, the attacks will be blamed on ETA."

[WIESBADEN, source El Mundo 3.7.2004] EL MUNDO REPORTS THAT THE SPANISH GOVERNMENT REFUSES TO RELEASE CLASSIFIED DOCUMENTS TO THE MARCH 11 PARLIAMENTARY investigative commission, which could shed light on the March 11 bombing. The investigative commission has asked for access to 38 classified documents--among them 19 classified documents from the National Intelligence Center--but so far, only five have been released. Most of the documents can only be reviewed by members of the Official Secrets Commission, who are obliged not to reveal any of what they read.

Operation Gladio
Gladio: the idea was for the security services of the West to kill innocent people and then blame this on others. Gladio was about keeping the right-wing elite in power.

Gladio agent Vincenzo Vinciguerra stated, in sworn testimony:

'You had to attack civilians, the people, women, children, innocent people, unknown people far removed from any political game. The reason was quite simple: to force ... the public to turn to the state to ask for greater security."

Italian Prime Minister Giulio Andreotti revealed the existence of Gladio in 1991. Parliamentary investigations in Italy, Switzerland and Belgium have given us a little of the truth. The book "NATO's Secret Armies: Operation Gladio and Terrorism in Western Europe," by Daniele Ganser documents some of what we know so far.

Run by NATO and Washington, right-wing militias carried out acts of terrorism and electoral subversion states such as Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Turkey and West Germany.

A Pentagon document, Field Manual FM 30-31B, details the methods for launching terrorist attacks.

85 people were killed on Aug. 2, 1980 in the bombing of the Bologna train station. According to the Italian Senate, after its investigation in 2000, the bombers were later discovered to be "men inside Italian state institutions and ... men linked to the structures of United States intelligence."

The Bologna bomb was part of Gladio's "the strategy of tension" - fomenting fear to keep populations in thrall to "strong leaders" who will protect the nation from the ever-present terrorist threat.

The strategy of tension was also used by the CIA and its allies outside Europe. During the 1980s, right-wing death squads, trained and supplied by the United States, murdered tens of thousands of people in Central America. Indonesia's gestapo regiments were trained by the Pentagon...

Now in Iraq, the Pentagon seems to using terror tactics.
Massive terror means that U.S. forces have to remain indefinitely.

Security services organised the Madrid bombs?
A headline in the Times, June 21 2004: 'Madrid Bombers Linked to Spanish Security Service.'

Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez has confirmed allegations first published in the Spanish daily El Pais on December 13 that the former Popular Party (PP) government led by José María Aznar ordered the destruction of computer records dealing with the key period between the Madrid train bombings and the general election held three days later that it lost to Zapatero’s Socialist Workers Party (PSOE). El Pais reported that a specialist computer company was paid $12,000 to erase the computer records, including back-up security copies.

Mathias Broeckers published an article on the 'telepolis' website March 13, with the headline: "Al Qaeda, ETA - Gladio?"

Broeckers sees a link between the Madrid bombs and the bomb attack on the central station of Bologna in August 1980.

Between 1969 and 1980, 245 people were killed in bomb attacks on central stations, trains and frequented squares in Italy.

Fifteen years after the Bologna incident, the culprits were caught. Two fascists were arrested and sentenced, along with two members of the Italian secret services, as well as the head of the P-2 lodge, Licio Gelli, and his aide, CIA agent Francesco Pazienza. The Gladio network began to be revealed.

The Gladio network, reportedly run by the CIA and other security services, used the Strategy of Tension to terrorize the Italian population and advance a fascist agenda.

A Channel Four documentary reported that it is now a widely held theory that the US government was the brains behind 9 11.

The Daily Mail's TV critic Christopher Matthew on Friday, the 10th September 2004, said that it is "a widely held theory that the US Government conspired to make 9/11 happen – and indeed may have engineered it." The evidence offered by the programme, he added, "was compelling, and the people who supported it were clearly no fantasists."

Kevin Toolis, in the New Statesman on 14th June 2004, wrote about 'The Terrorist Professors'.

Toolis says that America's military aggression is driven by the doctrine of 'counter-terrorism'.
Resistance to occupation is described as terrorism. Palestinian resistance to Jewish occupation is 'terrorism'.

Academics who study terrorism are often promoting the views of the right-wing security services.

Toolis writes: "As an academic discipline, counter-terrorism is still exclusively devoted to sub-state groups... ignoring state terror." If a Palestinian kills Israelis with a crude home-made suicide bomb on behalf of Hamas or Hezbollah that is 'terrorism'. But if the Israeli Defence Force wipes out several times as many Palestinians with state-of-the-art American-supplied missiles that is "legitimate self-defence against terrorism."

Toolis writes: "Almost all western counter-terrorist academic centres are closely linked to Israeli institutions such as the International Policy Institute for Counter-Terrorism." The executive director of this establishment is one Boaz Ganor, "a close political ally" of Binyamin Netanyahu.

Netanyahu helped make counter-terrorism "the ideology of the Israeli State." Netanyahu and the American conservatives believe that the "interests of the Israeli State are identical to those of the western democracies."

After 9 11, says Toolis, "American neo-conservatives ... incorporated the Israeli counter-terrorist model into US foreign policy." The world is to be shaped to a Zionist-Jewish mould.
