Lockdown restrictions lifting in Europe as New Zealand PM unimpressed by Ireland's slow approach

category international | rights, freedoms and repression | news report author Thursday May 07, 2020 00:09author by 1 of indyReport this post to the editors

Throughout Europe some sanity is beginning to prevail once again although all the governments everywhere are keen to continue the myth that this virus is more dangerous than the actual numbers suggest. They are therefore imposing ridiculous and costly measures on businesses and social life. Ireland as usual tries to be "the best in the class" or in reality most sheepish and is imposing the greatest burden by being the slowest.

But lets cut to the chase. Ireland has a big pharmaceutical businesses here that want to cash in bigtime and push the vaccines as some kind of magic solution. To impress them, the government has played along with the farce and deliberately talked up the number of deaths and at the same time down the number of cases. This way the death per infection appears far higher and that way it scares the living daylights out of more people. This makes them more likely to line up for the vaccine.

And all the while In Sweden, people are relaxing on cafe terraces.

Reason for Social Distancing and Mask Wearing

Because it will be largely small businesses that will be devastated economically and the tax payer will have to stump up the cost through raised taxes, bailouts for the rich again and deep social cuts to the most vulnerable again, it is vital not just in Ireland but everywhere else too, to convince both groups (i.e. small business and citizens) that it was all necessary. This is the only reason the social distancing measures will continue to be imposed and why people are being encouraged to wear masks, preferably for the rest of their lives. By wearing a mask, it signals directly via your face to your brain there is some "Bug" out there. It keeps the myth alive. It is completely unnecessary except perhaps if you have Covid in which case you should stay in, or if you work in as a surgeon or perhaps in a nursing-home. We cannot say the emperor has no clothes.

What is becoming clear from testing when done properly and randomly in the population, is that exposure to the virus has been far more extensive and widespread and many times more people got it and survived. And this automatically means the death rate is much lower and could even be lower than flu. However none of this can be made known and the myth must continue. People have been so falsely scared out of their wits and the propaganda so relentless that many are beyond fact or reason. They are just grateful for the government for locking them up and some have gone over the edge and want to remain locked up indefinitely.

Germany

In Germany from tomorrow most shops will be open. Last Monday hairdressers opened in Germany, while in Ireland it won't be till July. In some of the federal states students are returning to school. The odd thing is that in most of Europe the social distance is 1.5 meters. Why is it 2 meters in Ireland? In the central German state of Saxony-Anhalt people in groups of up to five can meet. In Ireland we will be lucky if our beloved leaders allow us to do this by Christmas.

They are also going to resume the football season this month.

France

Next week France will start lifting the restrictions with schools re-opening, primary and kindergardens followed by secondaries the following week. Non-essential shops will start to open next week too. However Macron who is the poster child of the Neo Liberal class and has gladly gone along with the police state measures predictably is following the trend to cover criticism of the regime after the crisis by imposing social distancing and mask wearing. This is to keep the myth of it all going. None of this applies in Sweden and they all haven't dropped dead.

Czech Republic

Last week a challenge to the lockdown was made in the courts in Prague and the judge who was independently minded enough not to be a total tool of the executive, ordered an immediate relaxation of restrictions after ruling the coronavirus restrictions were unlawful. It is unlikely this was reported too loudly at the time. As a result the Czech government reversed all the previously imposed limits within hours of the decision. This included re-opening of borders.

The particular regulations declared unlawful were two that had limited freedom of movement and the other two restricted retail trade.

Unfortunately in the case of Ireland the high court challenge taken by John Waters and Gemma O'Doherty is being kicked around and postponed and we have the disgraceful act of Garda blocking off access to the four courts last week when their case was being heard and this is despite our constitutional right that the court be heard in public

Article 34 of The Constitution states the courts SHALL be heard in public. NO law exists that states otherwise. Justice heard in private is not justice. The people of Ireland own the courts. They cannot be blocked from attending a hearing that affects their basic liberties
Italy

In Italy where the crisis appeared to be worst in Europe and was the trigger really for the rest of Europe, the timetable to get moving again is slow but still faster than Ireland. Italy has one of the oldest populations in Europe and because of their cultural habits, the virus may have spread quicker. However it had already become evident early in the crisis that they were very liberal with their definition of death by Covid and then two weeks ago, Italian MP Vittorio Sgarbi who was the first to call for the closure of Parliament dropped this bombshell:

...do not say 25 thousand dead here too, it is not true! Don’t use the dead for rhetoric and terrorism. The data from the Higher Institute of Health say that 96.3% died of other diseases.....

.....let us be united in liberation against hypocrisy and lies, against falsifications, against the false numbers that are given to terrorize the Italians. The 25,000 dead, as Professor Bassetti said, died of heart attacks, cancer and other diseases

In summary Sgarbi, denounced the closure of 60% of the businesses for 25,000 COVID-19 Deaths, of which the National Institute of Health says 96.3% died NOT of COVID-19 but of other pathologies. That means only 925 have died of the virus. 24,075 have died of other things. He says false statistics are being use to terrorize the citizens of Italy and establish a dictatorship.

Anyway like Ireland the political establishment has to keep the myth going otherwise those who lost their jobs, those about to be taxed heavily and the tens possibly hundreds of thousands who see their life's work in their business go bust would be asking some very hard questions. Keep the myth alive and they won't because the climate of fear will still be in place.

And so Italy will begin to lift restrictions from May 18th and June 1st.

By mid June most of Europe will be almost fully back to normal but in Ireland we will have to wait until the experts our government apparently listens to before we can do much. But here is a prediction. Within a few weeks pending some big convenient event, the government here will look isolated, out of step and left behind. This will create the environment where the so far timid commentators in Irish society may speak out and finally put the pressure required on the current regime to speed up the removal of restrictions
