Protest in Dublin at French arrest of Arturo Benat Villanueva at Spanish state extradition request! Arturo/ benat villanueva, a basque political activist, has been living in belfast from 2003 until this year when he went to live in the northern (french-controlled) basque country. He was arrested under the same warrant that a british court rejected previously. The Spanish media has already convicted Benat, calling him an ETA member before he even enters court. He has always been a political activist but in the Spanish media and courts' eyes, working for Basque independence is to be a "terrorist". |
