The CO2 emissions of a long-delayed and over-budget 'green' Scottish ferry will be far larger than that of the old diesel ship it is set to replace. Once again the benefits of a 'green' technology are hugely oversold.

..not being asked by our media about their sources of news-feed.

Not least why Hillary&Co are so emotionally disturbed by the footage out of Syria...but never batted a mascara-ed eyelid over Cast Lead in the local neighbourhood...

And aint it stirring how our media pundits get so upset about Syria...but don't notice the figure of one-in-five Irish kids going to bed or school hungry...or their fathers emigrating like we were back in the fucking fifties, to pay off smirking white-collar con-men in IBEC and the puppet plastic Doll Erin.

Nor do they seem to notice the wreckage left by NATO in Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Libya...but then Euro 2012 and the Olympics have superceded Jedward in their priorities.

The frogs are near boiled.

The UN need to be given more powers, its all very well to just observe and gather evidence, but there comes a point when something needs to be done about it.Its disturbing to think it can just go on in front of all our eyes.

..its a matter of giving the UN more powers.

The UN has been hijacked by NATO as a screen for the imperial agendas many hoped it would consign to the dustbin of pre-human history of militarised competition, and replace with a co-operative global concert of nations on a foundation of human rights and inclusive development.

The General Assembly was outflanked by the Security Council from the outset...and after '89 NATO hit overdrive for the global hegemony it is cementing into place with Arab and African blood.

Coming soon...Venezuela and the retake of 'our (Latin American)backyard'.

anotherlamb is just trolling. The last thing we need is another Libya style invasion in Syria leading to chaos and a bloodbath with lots of weapons lying around. The US and their client states in the middle east just want Syria out of the picture so they can get on with the next stage of their plan: Invasion Iran. They don't give two shits how many syrian citizens are killed in the process by their US armed rabble of mad mercenary jihadis. We should not support this murderous cynical foreign policy.

How would WE feel if some other countries started to arm a group of irish dissidents whose stated aim was to destabilise / kill the government and also if they transported in a bunch of paid mercenaries for good measure. Then they all started killing and bombing people? Not good that's how. Yet we all condone this behaviour when it happens in Libya or Syria because of the spin our media puts on it. It's pathetic.

Iranian military leaders speak out on the situation in Syria. Full text at link.

Iran is ready to mount a resistance against a possible outside attack on Syria, two senior generals of the Islamic Republic said. The statements come as the level of violence in war-torn Syria continues to escalate.

The pro-Assad “resistance” would ensure that aggressors do not survive the conflict, a senior commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, Brigadier Gen. Massoud Jazaeri told Mashregh, a media outlet run by the Guards.

“A conflict in Syria will engulf the region and its main victims will be the people of Syria themselves,” he also noted. “The Zionist regime and the interests of the enemies of Syria are all within range of the resistance fire.”

“The defeat of the enemy at this stage will be a big event and, God willing, we will witness that,” Jazaeri added.

Mashragh earlier reported that Iran’s armed forces had formed a joint war room with officers from “the resistance,” which includes Iran, Syria and Hezbollah, which controls parts of Lebanon.
