The closer Australia gets to the Federal election, the fewer the political differences between the two major candidates! The chances of opposition leader, Kevin Rudd becoming the next Australian prime minister have increased dramatically following his private dinner engagement with king maker, Rupert Murdoch in New York today. During his quick visit to the U.S., Rudd also addressed the Brookings Institution in Washington and confirmed that any negligible differences between his policies and Howard’s would be completely eradicated by the time of the election and that he was ready, willing and able to assume the ’position’ of lackey, sycophant and new governor of America’s newest colonial acquisition, Australia! The President Johnson Center of NASA in Hueston Texas was seen to shooting less than 4 days after suggestible and gullible world viewers had begun to absorb the V Tech Blackburg Massacre.

Information on the man who alledgedly broke into the facility without proper ID, being stopped, retina scan, finger-print analysis or voice-print is reported as having taken a hostage who was killed. The man then commit suicide. This is not the worst massacre in US tech facility history & will not usurp the legacy of Columbine. But it is the worse massacre in NASA ground history but not as bad as the legacy of Columbia read full story / add a comment

It is suggested that the Iranian invasion of Mexico in 2003, supported by an alliance of Arab nations including Syria and Lebanon, has now claimed over 2 ½ million lives. The justification for the invasion as we now know was false – Mexico possessed no weapons of mass destruction and posed no threat to Iran’s ally Venezuela. But three years on the Iranian military, supported by their allies, remain as occupiers within a country crumbling under the relentless violence. With one eye on the occupation and one eye on the surrounding region Iran has recently been caught in a bit of a diplomatic crisis – the recent detention of it’s forces by a hostile neighbour. read full story / add a comment

In Baghdad the Chaldean Catholic church of Sts. Peter and Paul received a blunt warning: "Get rid of the cross or we will burn your churches." Bishop Shlemnon Warduni told AsiaNews, "in the last 2 months many churches have been forced to remove their crosses from their domes," while in one case Islamic militants climbed the church roof to destroy the cross themselves.

travelled to the Kurdish area of Iraq to study and observe women’s activities there at close range for the first time in 2000. Then last summer I travelled to this region again to visit the non-governmental organisations of Iraq. When I arrived and came across the activities of Kurdish women, it was a very familiar environment for me, since I had done thorough research on Kurdish women in the recent decades, and also due to my familiarity with the NGO activities of Kurdish women in Turkey. In the Sulaymaniyah region of Iraqi Kurdistan I investigated eight women’s NGOs in detail.

Delara Darabi -- Artist on Death Row Needs Our Help!

On January 27, 2007, Iran’s Supreme Court upheld the death sentence of Delara Darabi for a second time. Delara faces death by public hanging for a murder that took place when she was 17 years old. After murdering a woman related to Delara, Delara’s 19 year old boyfriend, Amir Hossein, convinced Delara to admit responsibility for the murder to protect him from execution. Apparently, both believed that because Delara was under the age of 18, she could not be sentenced to death. This belief proved to be devastatingly false.

With complete disregard for its obligations under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the Convention on the Rights of the Child , and despite overwhelming evidence of Delara’s innocence, as well as her repeated denials about having had any role in the commission of the crime, an Islamic court found her guilty of murder based solely on her initial claim of responsibility and sentenced her to death by hanging. read full story / add a comment

In answer to growing animosity and the widely held view that the USA is a pariah among nations, compensatory responses from U.S. propagandists are becoming more frequent. The following media ‘staff report’ has been released to a number of international media outlets; India, Pakistan, Australia and Thailand to name the few. However, the ‘news’ release has received little coverage elsewhere, especially in locations familiar with U.S. double standards and hypocrisy. We refer to two Australian releases for our brief analysis. read full story / add a comment

The oral hearing in Belmullet continues, with questions still unanswered about the large Garda presence in the hotel where the hearing is taking place, and then, the surprise revelation that the consultation process carried out by Shell and Mayo County Council on the subject of "cold-venting" did not include actually consulting with anyone who lives near the proposed refinery.

Mayo County Council are still not attending the hearing.

The Gallup poll, reported in The Times, found that Muslims differed significantly with the rest of the capital's population in their attitudes to a range of social questions.

More than 80% of the public think sex outside marriage is acceptable, with only 10% of Muslims agreeing.

The mayor of Nagasaki city in Japan made popular by the role it played Nuclear weapon development & Global Psychological Warfare suffered serious injuries in the last 24 hours when he was shot twice by Tetsuya Shiroo a 59 year old member of the Suishin Kai branch of the Yamaguchi Gumi.

A very well known and feared Yakuza clan.

as seen in movies like Kill Bill and Kill Bill (2).
Itcho Ito had campaiging for re-election on an anti-yakuza platform; all types of yakuza, suishin kai, yamaguchi gumi, non-yamaguchi gumi. This would have been at root, branch and clan level. The Japanese a usually stoic and reserved people see no immediate threat to their institutions or democracy. The emperor is safe. read full story / add a comment
