Commemorating the 30th Anniversary of the 1981 Hunger Strike.

East End , Bundoran , Saturday 27th August 2011 , 3PM.

On Saturday 27th August 2011 , the Bundoran/Ballyshannon H-Block Committee will be holding a Rally to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the 1981 Hunger Strike ; those participating have been asked to form-up at 3pm at the East End.
More details to follow nearer the date....

The 30th annual Hunger Strike Commemoration was held in Bundoran , County Donegal , on Saturday last , 27th August 2011.
The largest turn-out in recent years joined the Bundoran/Ballyshannon H-Block Committee in remembering the ten men who died on hunger-strike in 1981 and listened intently as Richard Behal read a previously unpublished poem by Bobby Sands.
A full report will be published in the September 2011 issue of 'Saoirse'
which goes to print on Wednesday 7th September 2011 : meanwhile , photographs from this Commemoration can be viewed at the 'Related Link' , below.

impressive turn out, well done to all. the pics in the link are great and a tribute to the hunger strikers. Saoirse should consider publishing that previously unpublished poem in the next issue, if possible

The above-mentioned Bobby Sands poem will be published in the September 2011 issue of the 'Saoirse' newspaper , the speeches delivered on the day will be covered and more pictures from that Bundoran Commemoration will also be published.
