Resisting the Royal visit in Cork

category cork | rights, freedoms and repression | event notice author Saturday April 30, 2011 22:21author by cropbeye - Independant Republican Historical Societyauthor email cropbeye at yahoo dot comauthor address Shandon Report this post to the editors

Public meeting for all opposed to Elizabeth of Britains visit.

Metropole Hotel McCurtain st on May 16th at 7pm open meeting to discuss expression of

public anger and disgust at the Royal fanfare planed for Cork on the 20TH

An invitation for all those opposed to the Royal visit will be held on the evening

of Monday the 16th May. Given the anger many citizens feel about the activities of the British army

in the north of our country, activity of MI5 on both sides of the border and British security collusion with

loyalist death squads. We deem it immature that a fawning media and political elite will be celebrating

the visit of a British Royal a representative of imperialism in the world today. One who has never given

an apology for the Dublin and Monaghan bombings, diploc courts or abuses in prisons and holding cells.

Many want to have dignified protest to show citizens contempt to this visitors tour of Cork city centre on Friday 20th May.

All views and suggestions will be welcomed.

The evening is being faciletated by the Eirigi Party.
