Explain that its just part of the necessary cutbacks in these trying times and we really must take stringent measures, in the national interest, but that we all share their pain as we are all in it together.
Tell them we'll have it sorted in about four years, but if they like they can emigrate while they're waiting.
And hang a 'DONT FEED THE ANIMALS' sign outside.
Come to think of it,you could hang one on Leinster House, and another on the Central Bank and the Stock Exchange.
and if any of them get sick tell them the ambulance service has closed due to austerity cutbacks but there is one in the nearest "centre of excellence" in zimbabwe which should be built by 2050. They probably all have private care though :-(
Oh, while they were away our friends ran up a big bill gambling in the casino so now we all must pull together to repay the debt or our friends credit will be affected in the casino and it's truly important that the casino managers and other casino users have a high opinion of us so there will be no pension, higher retirement age and when they come back we will take half their wage to make the interest payments and fire half them and the ones that get fired will have to live on 100 a week.
Meanwhile, while they are there, we've convinced the government to open our borders temporarily and given half their jobs to some friendly immigrants from belarus wortking for half minimum wage. Productivity is up apparently. No rush getting back, everything is fine. Oh, and no pay while they are off work sorry.
Good to have heard positive vibe from business leaders today at IBEC conference. John Kay FT thinks we're way ahead of other EU countries on recovery path. Irish CEOs think same.
Good to see Martin McAleese turn up to support.
And why wouldn't those parasites be happy? Not content with having managed to pass on their debts to the next three generations of taxpayers the IBEC scumfest is now looking at ways to abolish public health and the welfare state.
