“Latin American Week” Photo Exhibition 2010

“The role of Older People on Food Sovereignty in Latin America and Ireland”.

LASC and Age Action invite you to submit photos for the Latin America Week Photo Exhibition 2010

This is an opportunity for LASC and Age Action members, volunteers and friends to exhibit photos of Latin America and Ireland related to Food Sovereignty and Older People during Latin America Week 2010.

Theme of exhibition:

“The role of Older People on Food Sovereignty in Latin America and Ireland”.

Sub-themes (list is not exhaustive):
• older people and sustainable / unsustainable food production
• food and the community
• food production and distribution systems
• the use of the natural resources
• effect of the food crisis on older people
• food, traditions, culture and older people
• organic food / farming
• access to food
• carbon miles
• etc…

Each participant should submit a maximum of 3 good quality photos preferably on digital format. Printed photos will be also accepted. LASC will send back all the printed photos received after the exhibition. Please, make sure you don’t send us the only copy you have. We do not accept responsibility for photos lost in the post.

Each photo will have to be accompanied by the title, the date and the place it was taken, and the person who took it. You can also write a few lines with your thoughts about the images.
LASC and Age Action will select the photos to be displayed in the exhibition according to:
- Quality of the photo
- Relevance to the theme

The deadline of submission is the 15th of March.

The photos will be exhibited in the Irish Aid Volunteer and Information Centre, Dublin for the month of April.

You can submit your photos (printed or in a CD) by post to Mara Sánchez, LASC, 5 Merrion Row, Dublin 2, or by email to lascphotoexhibition10@gmail.com

Please note that the photos should follow the principles of Dóchas Code of Conduct of Images http://www.dochas.ie/documents/Images_and_Messages.pdf Photos that do not follow this Code of Conduct won’t be accepted.
