Table Quiz to support Haiti

category dublin | miscellaneous | event notice author Friday February 05, 2010 11:26author by Chloé - Ye! Kr.I.K.author email yekrik.ireland at gmail dot comauthor phone 085 213 8026 Report this post to the editors

Caribean Community organizes a Table Quizz to support Haiti

To commemorate the 1st month anniversary of the earthquake, on the 10th of February, we are organizing a table quiz. This event is not merely a table quiz, it is also a cultural event during which people who are not familiar with Haiti and the Caribbean, will have the opportunity to learn more about the region. Haiti is more than a land of calamity. It is a land of hope that produces miracle.

Haiti one of the least developed countries has suffered once again from a massive earthquake on the 12th of January. The life of more than 150000 people has been lost and now there are more than 3 millions people affected, although it could have been prevented. When life strikes, solidarity must take place to heal the wound of those who are suffering. Wrongful images of looting and riot must be replaced by images of solidarity and fraternity. On the ground, and before the arrival of the international aid, Haitian people have organized themselves and have acted in solidarity with each others and have fought for their lives. With other Caribbean living in Ireland, we have decided to organize a fund raising event in order to somehow ease the suffering of the people and to show our unity with the faith of Haiti.
