The DEA grass versus the CIA gun runner - Imperial Justice

category international | crime and justice | other press author Tuesday August 04, 2009 12:25author by iosaf Report this post to the editors

The justice and vengence of the Iran Contra years stretches to our days.

Mr Celerino Castillo, known as "Cele" to his friends, was once an agent of the DEA, that US secret service branch which supposedly fights the war to end production of drugs like cocaine and heroin from the jungles of Latin America to the dusty mountains of Afghanistan. Whilst working for the DEA he saw with his own little eyes how another chap working for the DEA & CIA, Mr Luis Posada Carriles, ran guns out of El Salvador's "llopango" base, he also casebooked murders by CIA "assets". "Cele" not only noted all the little details down : he did his best to tell the world. His testimony would form part of the backdrop to what is now known as the "Iran Contra" affair which as it name suggests spun a web from the mountains of central America, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua to Iran via the US covert military machine, SOA, Pentagon & of course the regime of Reagan, Bush senior, Rumsfeld, Cheney etc.

The web was never properly dusted away and its cobs remained through the Clinton administration prompting the creation of "The Intelligence Oversight Board" by Bill Clinton in June 1996. "Cele" was shocked at what he perceived as a whitewash & damage limitation exercise under the Clinton presidency which with lessons still relevant for us now as we move from yet another Bush regime to Obama's was simply ignoring specific documented cases of abuse .

Here's an excerpt from the files he put together :-

he responded to the I.O.B report citing case file numbers, dates, and names of people who were murdered. In one case (DEA file # TG-86-0005) several Colombians and Mexicans were raped, tortured and murdered by CIA and DEA assets, with the approval of the CIA. Among those victims identified was Jose Ramon Parra-Iniguez, Mexican passport A-GUC-043 and his two daughters Maria Leticia Olivier-Dominguez, Mexican passport A-GM-8381. Also included among the dead were several Colombian nationals: Adolfo Leon Morales-Arcilia "a.k.a." Adolfo Morales-Orestes, Carlos Alberto Ramirez, and Jiro Gilardo-Ocampo. Both a DEA and a CIA agent were present, when these individuals were being interrogated (tortured). The main target of that case was a Guatemalan Congressman, (Carlos Ramiro Garcia de Paz) who took delivery of 2,404 kilos of cocaine in Guatemala just before the interrogation. This case directly implicated the Guatemalan Government in drug trafficking (The Guatemalan Congressman still has his US visa and continues to travel at his pleasure into the US). To add salt to the wound, in 1989 these murders were investigated by the U.S Department of Justice, Office of Professional Responsibility. DEA S/I Tony Recevuto determined that the Guatemalan Military Intelligence, G-2 (the worst human rights violators in the Western Hemisphere) was responsible for these murders. Yet, the U.S. government continued to order U.S. agents to work hand-in-hand with the Guatemalan Military. This information was never turned over to the I.O.B. investigation.

(An excerpt from his book "POWDERBURNS" Cocaine, Contras & The Drug War published in
2709 N. 28 1/2 St., McAllen,Texas 78501 Tele/Fax: 956-631-3818 http://www.fromthewilderness.com/free/hall/contra1.html )

He didn' stop with the book & his authority was of course noted in another work on the CIA : "Dark Alliance : The Cia, The Contras, And The Crack Cocaine Explosion" by the US author Gary Webb. At this Youtube link you can begin to watch a series of vidoes of an interview broadcast on radio by Alex Jones with "Cele" dressed in his characteristic army fatigues. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=su-LCxYz8xo

Lest you don't understand the Iran Contra affair then read the wikipedia quickly :-
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran_contra

oh they were never going to forgive him for that.

& unlike the aforementioned Gary Webb, "Cele" did not have the good grace to die according to the coroner Robert Lyon's report a suicide, with two .38 calibre bullets through the front of his face on December 10th, 2005. Obviously Gary Webb was very upset if he had only shot himself once through the front of the face he might have lived..,

So we ought not be surprised that a judge linked to the Bush family, Royal Furgeson has just suceeded in his criminal case against "Cele" who now lives in Texas, for the possession of an unlicensed firearm. As we know Texans have strict gun laws and the notion that someone would have a revolver without a permit must scandalise each and every one.

"Cele" has now been ordered to serve 37 months in jail, ironically just down the road from where he saw the gun-runner Mr Luis Posada Carriles allowed to slip over the border and go swim in that pond of filth down south.

= Justice is served.

Celerino Castillo III, as well as writing his own little book as explained in the article above also managed to get his own English wikipedia page which requires a "clean-up" & asks contributors (like you now you're on holliers or work's thin) to relieve it of its "orphan status" and tie it up with other stuff. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celerino_Castillo_III

They are probably hoping you'd go through the ample material which links the CIA to ensuring the supply of drugs out of America continues despite all the best efforts of the DEA to stop drugs punto & period.

Many people don't really get how the same state even if it has as big a budget as the superpower USA can go on funding and voting funding to 16 secret service agencies who apparent function is often utterly paradoxical. Though before they got into understanding such mysteries I'd suggest they at least have a tenous grasp on how much "off-book or classified" funding goes to the US secret service arms and the US military and then appreciate that the DEA which brought Nancy Reagan's slogan this is your brain on drugs - just say no" into popular culture with images of an egg being fried, indeed I'd defy any underground writer to suggest that before her advert anyone used any expression including "brain" and "fried" to describe being more often than not happily roasted or medicated on black market drugs. http://www.drugfree.org/Portal/About/NewsReleases/Fried...ssage If you want a simple introduction to "classified funding" proposed yearly by the US president and then voted by the US congress and senate with astoundingly transparent disclosure, plaese consult the latest article and its comments I wrote :-
Obama's Intelligence Services "of Change" = Just another Blair.
http://www.indymedia.ie/article/90449
& specifically the comment :
"USA 2009 / 2010 black budget estimates out : Obama is 3% blacker than Bush."

You will of course note that the DEA under Obama hasn't got "classified funding". You will also I hope trust me that in the past the DEA hasn't been named as getting such funding. Which of course raises lots of questions amongst which could be : how do they bribe such A-list informants on their paltry budget without bringing in other agencies to lever co-operation? how do they track shipments or production without bringing in other agencies who run satelites? [ & last but not least because it was written about several times on this very website ] when they operated planes which have passed through Shannon, Gitmo, Spain, Azores & elsewhere which were registered to a shell company so fake it didn't even have a door on its building and which then crashed in the Mexican desert stuffed to the gills with cocaine - - - - - - not once but twice - - - -

Have the DEA been doing all that, all this time, just on Nancy Reagan's breakfast or do they need something more nutritious and substantial?

"Cele" the man whose 3 year prison term prompted this article and Webb the journalist who committed suicide in 2005 by shooting himself at pointblank range in the face, were the only credible people who ever put CIA, DEA, OAS and others on the scene of the crime at the same time.

right there all chummy.

rubbing shoulders and nudging elbows and tipping the scales.

This last month and a half many Irish readers have found interest in Latin American affairs because of the Honduran crises. In the previous year many Irish readers similarly found interest in the South American continent because of extensive and detailed revelations first presented on this website about the group led by a Hungarian and which featured a young Irish man (All of fascist or neonazi ideology) who were shot before they alledgedly played a part in destabilising Bolivia.

well folks, .....................................you're talking drugs.

& in light of the above story we're also talking history. It appears as much as the Bush (elder) core faithful of monsters, who had served under Reagan and even Nixon seem to be worried these days, it is not fallout about their war in Iraq, or even GITMO - but rather settling scores and assuring their lobby's policies in Latin America continue. Obama may do Afghanistan, he may do Iran, He may sort out medicare and speak lovely - but Dixie's back yard is still its back yard.

George Herbert Bush (Senior) pardoned 75 people during his term as President. 5 of them had been charged with with-holding information on the Iran Contra days, that information was related to drug shipments & had direct bearing on the subsequent actions by the US military in intervention in the region.

_________________________________________

If we support Venezuela, Nicaragua, Bolivia and sympathise with Hondurans or Haitians now -

& if we understand why Colombia has got its US military basis with continental offensive reach on the pretext of supporting the DEA in the last months

- then we really do have to learn more about how the two sides of the US empire carve up their shares of interest and lobbies regardless of who is sitting in the Oval Office. The man in the White House gets to pass budgets and order arms, the loyal opposition get to play dirty. But whatever you do as you read all the ample material, don't go shooting yourself at point blank range with .38 bullets through the face twice, or even once - we all know now crack was put on our streets by the Dixie Empire.
